Gianna nodded at him and wondered why he sounded so surprised. Alexander chuckled and said, "Grandpa cooked for you!" Gianna was surprised to hear that Mr.Ellerbrock had prepared the soup himself.
"He likes you!" said Alexander in a cheerful tone. "What do you mean he likes me?" asked Gianna in a doubtful tone. "Soup only for me," said Alexander with a bright smile. "You mean Mr.Ellerbrock prepares the soup only for you?" Alexander blinked his eyes once and smiled brightly. Gianna looked at him, still in doubt, and wondered why Mr.Ellerbrock would prepare soup for her.
Gianna exchanged conversations with Alexander when the others were checking his charts. She accidentally dropped the television remote placed on the side stand. The remote's back cover flew open as it hit the floor, and the battery rolled under the table. Gianna kneeled to reach the battery under the table but saw a tiny black object near the battery. She stood up and put the battery into the remote. After making sure that no one was looking at her, she casually slid the tiny black object into her pocket.
"G," Alexander called out as the team started to leave. Gianna turned around and looked at him. "Call me 'Alexi' " said Alexander with a smile. Gianna smiled warmly and said, "Take a good rest, Alexi." Alexander was so happy and nodded with a bright smile. He couldn't contain the happiness in his heart because he was all alone throughout his life and felt that void filling whenever he was with Dr.G.
"Dr.Kristen, did you hear about yesterday's incident?" asked the nurse of the cardiothoracic department. "No. What happened yesterday?" asked Kristen as she checked the patient's chart. "There was another attack on the same patient who was attacked in the ER a few weeks before. He was rescued by Dr.G, just as he was rescued by her before in the ER. She is so cool. Don't you think so, Dr.Kristen?"
'Gianna again! Not even one day of my life passes by without hearing the praise song of that crazy witch! Such a mood wrecker!' thought Dr.Kristen as she smiled politely at the nurse. "I don't know. Why don't you focus on your duty now?" pointed out Dr.Kristen as she walked away. The nurse nodded and eyed her from behind. "Did you see her reaction? I told you, she is jealous of Dr.G!" said the nurse to another nurse when Dr.Kristen left the staff station.
"Hey, Kris! Are you done with the rounds?" asked Dr.Michael, a fellow of the cardiothoracic department. "Yeah," replied Kristen in a disappointed tone. "Why the long face?" asked Michael. "What is so special about Gianna that everyone in this hospital doesn't stop talking about her?" asked Kristen as she took a seat next to Michael. Michael chuckled but didn't reply to her question and continued with his work.
"We all started college together but look at her, she is already an attending physician and a professor. I am still a fellow! There is not even one day I can get by without hearing her name for the past 14 years! It's so frustrating, Michael!!" said Kristen, in a resentful tone. "Does she like being the center of attraction so much? Why does she have to show off like this? She is still the same arrogant witch!" said Kristen with narrowed eyes.
"You know how much people like to talk about others and create stories about them? People around us are making all these stories about Gianna, not her! Why do you have to misunderstand her and spoil your mood, Kristen?" said Michael in a soothing tone. "So, it's true that you are in love with that witch! She seduces all the men around her. She and her dirty tricks!" said Kristen in a chilling tone and stormed out the room.
Michael sighed and thought, 'I don't know whether it's love, but I truly admire Gianna. Her attitude and skills are top-notch. Well, even though I can't admit it publicly, it's actually hard to compete with her!' As Kristen stepped out, she got a call asking her to come to the emergency room immediately. She rushed to the emergency room and saw Dr.Zane standing beside the patient.
"What is it?" asked Dr.Kristen as she looked at the patient. "He is complaining about chest pain. Please, take a look at the scan report, Dr.Kristen," said the resident. She took a look at the scan and then examined the patient. "There is nothing to worry about. It's just bruised ribs. Fortunately, there are no major problems," said Dr.Kristen. "Thank you, Dr.Kristen," responded Dr.Zane and took out his phone.
"How is the pa-" Kristen was cut off by Zane abruptly. "Hey, there is a patient who is bleeding from his forehead. The scan doesn't show any abnormalities, but can you drop by and check it for confirmation." Victor was on the other side and responded with a quick 'okay' "Wait! Don't tell Dr.G about it. Let her take a rest." said Zane before hanging up.
"You know, Gianna!" asked Dr.Kristen with arrogance. Zane didn't like the way she addressed Gianna. 'How dare she address Gianna's name so arrogantly?' thought Zane. He looked at her with a smirk and asked, "Who doesn't know the great Dr.G?" "The great?" repeated Dr.Kristen with a scoff.
"Yes! Did I say something wrong?" asked Zane with a raised eyebrow. "Nothing. It just sounded too overrated," said Kristen with a smirk. Zane laughed loudly and asked, "You think the mention of great is overrated, but what would you think if you come to know that she is actually known as the 'Ultimate Goddess' ?"
Kristen's blood drained from her face hearing his response and smiled awkwardly at him before storming out of the ER. 'Ultimate Goddess! What a load of crap! She even has Dr.Zane in her clutches, who just came a few months before! She is nothing without that smart a** brain! That crazy witch!' thought Kristen as she went to her office.
