Gianna didn't freak out and cautiously moved her hand to switch on the balcony light. As the image was clear now, she started freaking out in her mind. She looked at the man standing in front of her and asked calmly, "Who are you? Why are you on my balcony?" The man chuckled and said, "Please let me in!" "You have got it, wrong mister. This is not a shelter home. Get off my balcony, or I am calling the police!" said Gianna and closed the curtain.
Gianna cursed under her breath and waited for the man to leave, but she heard a light banging sound on the door. Luckily the balcony door was made break resistant. "I am sorry for the last time! Please let me in, Gianna! I know I was wrong, and I am ready to do anything to make you feel better." said the man in a pleading tone. The man was none other than Mr. Rick. Gianna was furious as she heard his nonsense and opened the balcony door and said, "Choose. Do you want to go to the police station or die in my hands?"
Rick smiled and said, "I would gladly die in your hands." Gianna glared at Rick and went inside the house. Rick slowly followed her and was about to sit on the couch. "NOOO!" screamed Gianna. Rick paused his action and straightened his back quickly. "Stand right there. Don't you dare spoil my couch!" said Gianna and went to the kitchen. Rick didn't move an inch and waited for Gianna. She passed him a water bottle and walked inside the washroom with a medical kit.
Rick looked at the water bottle and thought, 'I know she would never kill me!' He gulped down the entire bottle in one go because he had no idea how long he was running from the Ellerbrock men. He knew it was stupid to stop the backup team singlehandedly but didn't have another option. The backup team was furious to see him and did their best to capture him but in vain. Rick fought them back as much as he could, but when he knew he could no longer handle them, he used his final tactic to run through the forest.
Fortunately, not many men were chasing him because most of the men were down. Rick has trained himself hard and can take many men at a time. Rick was also hurt in the process but gathered all his energy to run away like a maniac. His long legs were an advantage for him, and the men couldn't keep up with his speed. Sooner, the men lost Rick in the forest but still continued with the search with determination. Rick could no longer see any men following him, so he slowly walked and looked around in surprise.
Rick found the neighborhood very familiar. He soon realized he was close to Gianna's apartment. Rick almost had a change of heart to go and see her but decided not to. He turned around to hide somewhere else, but he heard many footsteps coming in his direction. He didn't have another way out and headed towards Gianna's balcony because, at that moment, Gianna's apartment was a safe house. He crouched on the balcony for some time and heard a man saying from below, "Didn't we lose him in the same area last time?" The men immediately spread in search of him.
"One drop of blood on my carpet and you are dead!" said Gianna through her gritted teeth. Rick came back to his senses immediately and slowly walked towards the washroom. He carefully sat on the edge of the bathtub. "Where are you hurt?" "I thought you were going to kill me!" said Rick as he placed his knives, smoke gun, few tranquillizer injections, phone, and earpiece on the side. Gianna glanced at the items and said, "I prefer killing someone healthy rather than a dying person."
Rick chuckled and removed his t-shirt. Gianna's eyes wandered to the old wounds and were happy to see them all healed. She could also see a few other new knife slashes. There were two cuts on his chest, one cut on the side of his chest, one on the right arm, a small scrape on his neck, and another long one on the back. Rick was so happy to see her again, and he was trying more than his best to stop himself from hugging and kissing her. He kept admiring her face when she was examining his wounds.
"There are six cuts in total, out of which two cuts are deep, and others are superficial. Do you have any wounds in the lower part of your body?" asked Gianna as she moved to fetch a clean towel. Rick touched his legs and said, "Unfortunately, no." Gianna looked at him and asked, "Why is it unfortunate?" Rick coughed suddenly and said, "I meant fortunate." Gianna shrugged and started wiping his body with the wet towel. Rick thought, 'It is indeed unfortunate. I don't feel ashamed to admit that every inch of my body is craving your touch, Gianna.'
"Is it paining?" asked Gianna as she dabbed on the cut on his chest. Rick shook his head. He didn't prefer to talk because he was admiring her. "Ahhh!" shouted Rick in pain and looked at Gianna in surprise. "Did it hurt?" "Obviously! You purposely press the cut, right?" Gianna smirked and continued to clean. Rick could smell the faint vanilla scent from her neck and felt like taking a bite of her neck. Rick turned away his head and tried to distract his mind when his phone rang.
Gianna glanced at his phone and saw a string of numbers. Rick knew it was Derrick and sent a text message. Rick: I am safe. Secure the packages and stay on alert. Rick switched off his phone and kept it aside. "I am going to stitch the cut. Don't move," said Gianna and started stitching the wounds. She quickly finished bandaging the wounds and cleaned up the mess.
"How about your bullet wound?" "Healed. Do you want to take a look?" Gianna gave a death glare and exited the washroom.
