Gianna switched off the TV and took two pills from the medical kit. "Take these and sleep. Give your body rest," said Gianna before walking towards the study room.
"Good night!" said Rick, but he didn't get any response from Gianna. As he knew about her, he didn't mind it and lay on the couch to sleep. Gianna went back to track down the assaulter. She kept working for another two hours. "Finally! I guess you use this trick often, and now you are a pro at it!' mumbled Gianna looking at a zoomed image of a man in his late twenties. She took out her blue-colored basic phone and dialed Lorenzo's number.
"I guess you didn't sleep," said Lorenzo. "Yeah, and I found the assaulter! I will text his address but don't take action now," said Gianna. "The girl hasn't texted you yet?" "No. It's not easy to take revenge. You know better than anyone!" "Okay. Text me when it's ready," said Lorenzo before hanging up the call. She noted the address in her notepad and also texted Lorenzo. Gianna kept her things away and closed the secret compartment. She slowly stood, and her body ached all over because she sat in the same position for two hours straight.
Gianna took her phone and dialled Victor's number. "Good morning, Dr.G!" "Good morning. How is everything there?" asked Gianna as she opened the door. "Everything is good here, Dr.G. Don't worry. How are you feeling?" Gianna looked around the living room and stood frozen. Rick was not on the couch. The blanket was neatly folded and placed on the end of the couch. "I will call you later, Victor," said Gianna and hung up. She checked the room, but Rick was nowhere to be seen.
"Bas****. Why didn't you leave a note this time, you j*rk? If you ever show up in front of me, I will kill you." shouted Gianna facing the balcony door. She stood staring at the balcony, breathing rapidly with her fists clenched at the sides. She could explode at any moment and would take out anyone and everything around her.
"Who are you going to kill early in the morning?" Gianna's breath stuck halfway into her lungs and slowly turned to the side. Rick stood at the kitchen entrance wearing his torn t-shirt and two cups in his hand. Gianna slowly let her breath out but continued to glare at him.
A pleasant smile appeared on Rick's face, and slowly walked closer to her while staring right back at her. Gianna felt a weird tingling sensation as he stared at her with his attractive dark amber eyes. Gianna's heart raced as he neared and unknowingly took a few steps back but stopped as soon as she hit the wall behind her.
Rick stopped right in front of her and leaned forward where their noses almost touched. She could feel his hot breath on her cheeks and look at his attractive lips. Rick also gazed at her lips which made Gianna's throat dry. Gianna's mind was almost uncontrollable, but she faintly heard him ask, "Were you worried about me?"
Gianna instantly came back to her senses and pushed his head away from her. "Ha! As if! I don't care if you die or live!" scoffed Gianna. Rick chuckled and said, "Alright, Dr. Gianna! Here, I made coffee for you." Rick handed her the cup and walked back to the couch.
"Aren't you going to the hospital?" Gianna shook her head as she dialed Victor's number. "I am doing well, Victor. Tell Alice to keep visiting Julia. Take care of everything there. Don't skip your meals." "Okay, Dr. G!" said Victor and hung up the call. "So, you are not going to the hospital," said Rick sipping his coffee. Gianna didn't respond and dialed Zane's number. "Good morning, Dr. G!" chirped Zane
"Good morning, Dr. Zane. I am on leave today." "Okay. Take a good rest. Keep the wound away from water, don't take painkillers, don't lift anything, don't cook, and sleep well. How is your concussion?" Gianna chuckled and said, "It was just a mild concussion, and I will take care of it. Don't worry. Have a great day!"
"Did you fall?" asked Rick in a concerned tone as soon as she hung up the call. Gianna looked at him and asked, "Why? Do you want to push me?" Rick sat there in silence and looked at her without batting his eyelids. "Are you close with Dr. Zane?" "Why do you care?" "How is coffee?" "Doesn't all coffee taste like coffee?" "Why didn't you sleep last night?" "Would you have sung a lullaby for me?" "Were you working the whole night?" "Why do you want to know?"
"Do you love me?" "Why -" Gianna nearly choked on her coffee and looked at him in surprise. Rick smirked and asked, "Why? Don't you have a question to reply to now? Why don't you continue?"
Gianna glared at him and asked, "When are you leaving?" Rick didn't answer and kept sipping on his coffee. 'Gianna is flustered! Hahaha!! How am I even able to tolerate her?! Toxic woman but also attractive!' thought Rick as he sipped his coffee. "I asked you a question, Rick." Rick looked at her and asked, "Do you know what my specialty is? Yours is making someone go crazy by answering a question with another question, and mine is not answering the question at all."
Gianna didn't respond and finished drinking her coffee and went inside the kitchen. She mumbled, "You know nothing about my specialty, douchebag!" Gianna smirked and asked from the kitchen, "Shall I make spaghetti for breakfast?" "Yes, with tomato sauce," replied Rick instantly. "I never knew Mr.Rick's specialty is too shallow." Rick's mind exploded in a second. He looked at Gianna, who stood with a smirk at the kitchen entrance.
"You are one of a kind!" said Rick in disbelief. Gianna chuckled and said, "I hear that a lot."
