Chapter - 111 - Standards

"Good evening, Dr. G! Someone has dropped a post for you, but there is no sender address. Should I send it to you?" asked the receptionist. "Please send it to my office. Thank you!" The receptionist thanked her and hung up the call. Knock knock… "Come in." "Good evening, Dr. G! There is a post for you!" said Alice as she handed out the post. Gianna thanked her and excused her.

"Who would have sent this?" mumbled Gianna as she opened the post. Gianna chuckled as she saw the content. "Good work, Rick! The juice was spiked, and the same drug was in my system. I completely forgot about this!" She put the paper back in the drawer and opened the messaging app to text Rick. She didn't know what to text him and felt embarrassed about the last time. After a long time, she decided not to text him and went back to study the files.

Meanwhile, in the department room, "Are you serious?" exclaimed Alice. "Yes. I saw with my eyes! Dr. G and that police officer were having coffee and smiling at each other!" whispered Zane. "I heard the rumor this morning but didn't take it seriously! So, it is true after all!" sighed Ralph. "So was it the police officer who called Dr. G during the morning discussion yesterday," whispered Stanley. The team thought for a second and nodded in shock. "Yesterday, when I went to give the reports in the evening, I saw her cheeks were flushed! Was it because they had agreed to date?" whispered Alice.

"Will Dr. G agree to a date that soon with someone she met two or three times? Don't you think that's absurd?" whispered Victor. "Do you remember the morning incident? She ran outside to attend to a call and didn't have breakfast with us, saying she had to go to her apartment. Would that be because of the police officer?" whispered Ralph.

"Nowadays, she acts a bit weird whenever she receives phone calls!" whispered Victor. "The other day, she told Mr. Alexander that she would date someone who would come to the hospital. Is that why the police officer came to the hospital to have coffee?" whispered Stanley.

"Is she dating?" asked Alice. "Who is dating?" The team was in deep thought and nearly had a heart attack when they heard Dr. G's voice behind them. They all turned slowly to face Gianna with innocent smiles. "Who is dating?" repeated Zane. "That's my question! What were you all buzzing till now?" asked Gianna as she sat on the chair. "Haha! We were talking about the assaulter case!" said Ralph quickly. "I see! What were you talking about, Stanley?" asked Gianna looking straight into his eyes.

That was the moment the team knew that they were dead. Stanley can never lie to Dr. G. "We didn't talk about you, Dr. G! Dr. Zane didn't see the police officer. We were not discussing your relationship with him!" said Stanley with an innocent smile. "Oh! So, you want to know whether I am dating Mason?" asked Gianna with a raised eyebrow. "Yes." blurted out Stanley. "NO. I mean, no!" exclaimed Stanley and looked at others.

The team straightened their backs and mentally prepared to die. "Hahahaha! Why are you all so talented when it comes to these types of matters?" They all hung their heads down. "You are their senior, and yet you act like a child! Is the ER so free?" asked Gianna looking at Zane. "Irresponsible brats!" said Gianna through her gritted teeth and left the room.

"Ahh!" screamed Stanley as Ralph sprayed water on his face. "Why can't you avoid Dr. G's question?" asked Ralph. "I try to, but her eyes are like a natural hypnotizer. I end up telling the truth!" whined Stanley. The door suddenly opened, and they saw Dr. G glaring at them. "I am not dating anyone, and if I am dating, I will tell you guys. So, stop wasting your time and get ready for the rounds!" said Gianna in a raised voice. The team smiled brightly and shouted in unison, "Dr. G is not dating!!!"

"I feel offended," said Gianna as she walked closer to them. The team looked at her in confusion. "Why are you all looking like that? You all want me to date, but whenever you hear a rumor, you all oppose it! Why?" asked Gianna in disbelief. "Dr. G, we want someone best to date you. You are the best, and we want someone who matches your standards!" said Ralph. Gianna rolled her eyes and asked, "What are my standards?"

"He should be 6 ft and above with glazing skin and should be, like God of Charm!" exclaimed Alice. "He should be muscular, well-built, and good at martial arts so that he can fight and protect you!" said Zane. "He should be smart and skillful!'' said Ralph. "He should be feared by everyone but should fear only you. A true lover!" said Stanley. "He should respect you and never take advantage of you in your miserable times!" said Victor.

"He should be a little possessive, but at the same, trust you more than anyone," said Tom standing near the door. The team looked at them and signaled to join them. "He should be wealthy but have a big heart so that he wouldn't hesitate to lose the wealth for you!" said John. "He should never look at other women like the way he looks at you!" said Liam. The team looked at each other and nodded with bright smiles!

"What do you think, Dr.G?" asked John. "Woah!! I never thought you all had set such a high standard for me!" smirked Gianna. She pointed at the clock and left the room.

'Why did I think of that annoying jerk now? Why?' thought Gianna as she walked towards the ward.
