Chapter - 112 - Intoxicate

"Good evening, Mr. Ellerbrock," greeted the team in unison. He nodded back at them with a bright smile. "What a surprise, Mr. Ellerbrock? Have you finally decided to visit your grandson?" asked Gianna in a sarcastic tone. Mr. Ellerbrock smiled in return but didn't respond. The residents were checking Alexi, and suddenly Ralph asked Alexi, "Mr. Alexander, what kind of man do you think is a match for Dr. G?" Gianna looked at Ralph in shock. "Why are you spouting nonsense, Ralph?"

"What is wrong with that question? Wait, let me think!" said Alexi, thinking deeply. "He should protect her with his life without hesitation and never let her get hurt!" Gianna scoffed and said, "Don't talk nonsense!" "He should be someone with a good career and daring to face any situation!" said Noah from the side. "Can I also suggest?" asked Mr. Ellerbrock from behind.

Gianna shook her head, but the residents quickly nodded at Mr. Ellerbrock. "He shouldn't be a person who protects her but fights beside her!" Gianna looked at Mr. Ellerbrock in surprise and smiled. "Grandpa! That's an excellent point!" exclaimed Alexi. "Enough! If I let you all speak as you wish, you would fix my wedding right here!" "Lt. Mason is a great choice!" Noah blurted out. Everyone in the room looked at Noah in shock. "What did you say?" asked Gianna with a deadly stare. "Sorry, Dr. Gianna! I saw you both having coffee. So..."

"Noah, G is not dating anyone! If she drinks coffee with me, does that mean she is dating me? Grandpa, it's high time you give him time to date!" said Alexi in a disappointed tone. The residents giggled but stopped when they saw Gianna fuming with anger. "Stop! I want you all to stop discussing my personal life right here and now! If I ever hear anyone speaking nonsense, you will face the consequence. I hope everyone got my point!" said Gianna in a raised voice and dashed out of the room.

Everyone in the room didn't even dare to breathe till Dr. G exited the room. A smile appeared on Mr. Ellerbrock's face and said, "You all should listen to her. Don't speak about her personal life anymore. Give her some space!" The residents nodded and quickly rushed outside the room to follow Dr. G.

"G is scary when she gets angry. In a split second, she looked like you, grandpa!" said Alexi, still in shock. "Hahaha! Isn't she impressive?" asked Mr. Ellerbrock. "Young master, the real deal was when you were lying in ICU! Even the old master couldn't talk back to her!" sighed Noah.

Gianna went straight to her office and removed her coat swiftly. "Idiots!" muttered Gianna and gulped down water. Ring ring... Gianna saw Mason's name on the phone display and wanted to crush the phone, but she took a few deep breaths to calm herself before attending the call. "Gianna! My colleague is hurt! I am in the ER. Can you please come and check?" said Mason panicking. "Don't worry! I will be there soon." She called Victor on the way to the ER and asked him to join her.

"Here!" shouted Mason from a distance. Gianna quickly went to his side and saw Dr. Zane treating Mason's colleague. "How is his condition?" asked Gianna. "It's a superficial wound. They will bring the scan report soon," informed Zane. Victor handed her the scan report immediately. She studied the scan report. "Is he alright?" asked Mason in tension. "It is a superficial wound. He has a concussion. Some injuries show late symptoms, so bring him after three days to take another scan."

"Thank God!" exclaimed Mason and thanked everyone. "Can I talk to you for a moment, Dr. Gianna?" asked Mason when Gianna was about to leave. Gianna nodded and walked to the corner. "Thank you for checking on him!" "It's my duty as a doctor, Mason." "We went to meet a few of the regular customers of that drug distributor, and in that process, Mike got hurt! I should have protected him!" sighed Mason looking at Mike.

"Don't blame yourself! He will be fine if he rests for the night!" said Gianna. Mason nodded and smiled at her. "So, did you find the location of the druggie?" "Nope. The customer told us he stopped supplying the third eye for the past two months. The problem is 95% of the customers are big shots. They are too smart and stay well hidden." "I guess the remaining 5% doesn't know his exact location or other details about him!" said Gianna with a smirk. "Exactly!" agreed Mason.

"I feel like I am talking to a fellow police officer. Hahaha! You are amazing!" "I used to watch a lot of detective and crime series," said Gianna with a faint smile. "Shall we have dinner?" "Thank you, but I have a lot of work to do." Gianna rejected him without a second thought and left without waiting for his response after bidding him good night.

"I have some work. Don't disturb me until there is an emergency," said Gianna as she stepped out of the elevator. "Dr. G, we are sorry if we crossed our limits. Please don't stay angry at us!" said Victor in a pitiful tone. "You all did cross your limits, but I am not so petty to stay angry with you all!" said Gianna and left.

Gianna entered her room and slouched on the chair. She heaved a huge sigh and closed her eyes for some peace, but the standards pointed out by the residents popped one after the other in her mind. When each point popped up, only one face was visible in her mind.

"Why am I even thinking about him? Did he intoxicate me with any drug? How can I even think about him??!!!! Ridiculous!" mumbled Gianna and hit her head. "Stop thinking about him, you fool!" muttered Gianna to herself.

Her phone vibrated, and she groaned as she read the text.

Annoying Jerk: Are you thinking about me?
