In the meantime, "Good evening, Capo! Edward has been sentenced to thirty years in prison with a fine of fifty million," reported Armando. Rick was sitting in his office checking out the papers which needed to be signed. Rick hummed in response. Rick noticed Armando didn't leave after reporting, so he looked up and asked, "Do you have something else to say?" Armando nodded but was hesitant to talk. "Spit it out!" commanded Rick.
"I overheard the conversation of men under Capo Marco. They were talking about success in buying shares from most of the executive members of Jen Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Marco knows this company is under your observation, but still, he interfered in it."
Rick smirked and asked, "How much did he buy the shares for?" "Around ten crores as the price went down due to the investigation process. He is the second largest shareholder with forty-two percent of shares. Rick smiled mysteriously and said, "Okay. You can leave."
Armando immediately left the room with curiosity. "Why didn't Capo react to the report? Did he set up a trap?" mumbled Armando as he walked into the training room.
"Hello Ms. Nora, I am Mason, Lieutenant of Halston City Police Department," introduced Mason as he stood before Nora in her office. "Hello, Lieutenant Mason. Please take your seat." Mason nodded and sat in the chair facing her. "May I know what brings you here?" asked Nora looking suspiciously at Mason. 'Is he another part of the higher-ups who has come to interfere with my case?' thought Nora observing him.
"I am here to ask a favor from you. Right now, other than you, I have no one," said Mason sincerely. Nora looked at him with a doubtful gaze and asked, "What kind of favor?" Mason cleared his throat and said, "For the past three months, I have been investigating distributors of a new type of drug in the market. Due to that drug, many lives were at stake. I am currently searching for an agent, but only God knows what kind of hole he is hiding in. So, I have a hunch that the guy would be an agent of the Visconti family."
Nora was dumbfounded. "Are you talking about the latest drug deal they had processed?" Mason nodded and said, "According to my findings, this should be the second deal they had done. The first one was just a trial. And during the second distribution, they had a few accidents. That led to the arrival of a big shot into the country, and somehow, they had dealt with the drugs discreetly."
Nora took a moment to process the details and asked, "So you want to talk to Derrick about the agent?" Mason chuckled and nodded. "Well, that's not a problem. We arrested them through an anonymous tip, and my team is handling this case. Derrick and his men were adamant at first and didn't admit to any of the crimes. But yesterday, as if they all admitted to their crimes."
"Whenever I brought up the question about their latest deal, they all denied it and said there was no deal like that. There is a mastermind behind them, and can it be the big shot from another country you talked about earlier?" asked Nora with determination.
Mason looked at her determined eyes and knew she was a capable detective. Even though there were rumors about the team during a close encounter with her, one can clearly say the team Delta is talented but was not allowed to perform. Mason knew she was a reliable partner, and teaming up with her would make his investigation faster.
"Your guess is right. I want to propose a joint operation with your team, so that we could reach the mastermind as soon as possible, and of course, I want to keep this operation under the rags from the higher-ups for the time being."
Nora sat in silence for a moment, thinking over all the information Mason gave her and about keeping it a secret from the higher-ups. 'Anyway, I never had any hope from the higher-ups till now, so conducting a secret investigation would be a great idea. Teaming up with a Lieutenant will give the team a boost. This is not a bad proposal,' thought Nora.
"Okay, Lieutenant. I will cooperate with you, but I expect the same cooperation from you," said Nora as she put forward her right hand. "I would never go back on my word," said Mason, and both shook their hands.
Nora then introduced Mason to her team members and briefed the team about the secret joint investigation. The team was so surprised. They never felt such a thrill in the past two years and immediately agreed with them.
"This is the list of agents we retrieved from his computer. Is it possible that the person you are searching for is on this list?" asked Nora as she handed over a copy. Mason went through the list and said, "He should be among the list who is not working in the clubs or pubs. Do you have their details?" Nora nodded and signaled Laura to show the details.
"There are ten agents in total who all don't work in the clubs or pubs. Among them, eight are male agents, and two are female agents. So, he should be one among the eight," said Laura and handed over the details of the eight men. Mason looked through the list and finally found the D-Therapist.
Mason couldn't control his joy and smiled brightly. He showed the man in the paper and said, "This is him. He is well known as the D-Therapist. The scar on his temple was the identification given by the informant."
Dan chuckled and said, "Such a lame name!" The team members also agreed with him and smiled.
