Get Out!

"Josh?". She got up to retort. How could he serve as a witness to something he didn't see?

"Diane". He smiled gently before moving to sit next to her. "I know you don't want to see me, but I don't have anything against you". His eyes moved to Fredrick. "Has she narrated what happened?".

He nodded.

"I was the one who picked her up that night. After texting for a while and she kept trying to stop me, I decided to follow her". He dug out his phone from his pocket. "This was our text past midnight".

>>Josh: Why aren't you home yet? [00:47am]

>>Diane: We're drinking, but we'll be leaving soon. [01:19am]

>>Josh: Holy shit! It's past midnight! I'm coming to get you, just stay put! [01:20am]

>>Diane: Don't bother, I mean it! [01:21am]

Josh took a moment to open a separate chat. "Gwen once shared her location, so finding you wasn't hard". He raised the phone once again to Fredrick's face.

The boy's eyes narrowed before nodding. The date and time were all there.

Diane had recalled leaving after seeing Josh's message that night. Had he really followed her? And when the hell did Gwen share her location?! It was no wonder he somehow always found them!

"Why didn't you tell me?". She frowned at him.

"I'm sorry, I knew you'd be pissed but I couldn't just sit back and watch you stagger home". He tried to hold her hand but she hastily pulled away.

"Seems like a lovers' quarrel". Fredrick tapped the table a bit with his index finger. "Where exactly did you pick her up?".

"Chadiver street".

"What part of it?".

"All my mind was on Diane, plus it was dark so I can't exactly say". Josh's voice was cold. "I've heard about you, the kid who never leaves a case unsolved. Don't think your agency can just pick on Diane, my lawyer will be here soon". His eyes narrowed to look down at him.

Diane couldn't believe the way Josh had spoken since he was always so puppy-eyed with her.

'He's a good dog'. A female voice in her head spoke up and she jerked back in her seat.

The voice sounded familiar but the gazes sent her way told her that nobody else had heard it.

"Are you alright, Diane?". Josh moved to hold up her seat. "What did you eat this morning? I hope you're taking your meds".

She merely sighed.

"So it's an obsessive boyfriend and an indifferent girlfriend". Fredrick continued his air typing.

"We're just friends...". Diane frowned.

"You can go for now, but I won't say this is the end". His eyes scanned them both as they stood up. "Know that I don't ever give up till a case is solved".

"I hope so". Josh retorted before pulling Diane away by the wrist. Neither of them spoke a word till they reached the parking lot. "Whatever you want to ask, let's not speak here". His eyes narrowed at the camera not too far away.

"I'm heading back to work". She decided he was right. Asking about that night would be suspicious if he'd actually lied. She knew there was no way she'd forget if Josh had taken her home and the memory of a man attempting to harass her didn't seem like merely a dream. "But how did you know I was here?".

He looked away from her, "I sent someone to follow you from the time you left your apartment". His hands moved to rest on her shoulders. "I was worried you might get in trouble after seeing the news, but I got held up with dad's work".

He used both hands to cup her face. "I'm really sorry for what happened in the bathroom that day. So just let me drop you off at work".

He'd just saved her but -

"Your car would draw too much attention at the office, I'm fine". She took a step back before heading towards the road.

"Diane...". He whispered out of her hearing before heading back into his car in disappointment. Fortunately, his windows were tinted. "Diane". He looked to his palms that had touched her face before rubbing them on his cheeks. Her skin felt so warm and tender in his hands.

"Why won't she take me back?". He questioned himself before undoing his belt. Wasn't he rich enough?

His right hand dug deep into his boxers to rub his hardness. "Ughh Diane...". He groaned regardless of being in a parking lot in the middle of the day.

The worst-case scenario would be for her to leave Fredo. Being out of a relationship with her made his urges worse than ever. "Ugh". He brought out his phone to scroll through her pictures while simultaneously jerking off for the next few minutes till he was about to cum.

Someone knocked on the passenger side window and his heart almost left his chest as he scurried to arrange his trousers.

The familiar face of Fredrick leaned down before poking his head at the window. "Is anyone in here?".

Josh gritted his teeth in irritation before starting the engine.

"Hey wait! I wanted to ask a favor!".

He hesitantly lowered the glass. "I don't know you, kid".

"Wait! You're going back to work, so you could drop me off at Bermount group's building on the way". He stuck his hand through the window to open the door.

Josh could only stare at the boy who'd courageously taken a seat and started arranging his seat belt. "Safety first". He smiled.

With a frown and sweaty palms, Josh drove off with the unwanted passenger.

"It must be hard". Fredrick started. "Sticking your nose out for someone who doesn't care about you".

He almost hit the brakes in annoyance. "Don't talk like you know us".

The young man laughed a bit. "You have a lot of money, so I think you could find someone better".

Josh roughly stepped on the brakes before sending the boy a death glare. "Get out". He looked down on him with the eyes of a killer.
