Banquet (2)

The six were chatting with one another when the teens were startled by Aezir's change in demeanor. In an instant, the warm atmosphere turned vile as Aezir emitted strong killing intent.

"It seems like you have a decent adventurer with you. No wonder you have the guts to fly alongside our ship,' A man with red hair, wearing gold and red armor said while floating in the air and staring at Aezir with his red eyes. Behind him, three more warriors wearing similar but less notable armors stood imposingly as well.

"What do you want?" Aezir asked indifferently. He already withdrew his killing intent after seeing the man. 'I really am getting old. I startled too easily,' he lamented in his mind.

"We were ordered to crush you, so be a good plebeian and do not fight," the man said with a smile. He then moved his hand, causing a spear to manifest out of thin air.

"Summoning! He's at least a Scholar," Jia exclaimed.

"Prepare for death!" the man said before charging at Aezir together with the other armed troops.

"This is why I don't like empires," Aezir sighed. He then waved his hand. Just then, the wind raged and blew against the charging troops, pinning them to their ship.

It caught the attention of the passengers of the ship, causing them to lean over and look at what had happened. The golden-haired teen who instigated the event was flying over the ship with Beruth with a grim look on his face.

"I thought they were nobodies! How can he subdue a Scholar?!" he shouted at Beruth.

"Your highness, they are members of the Ferren Clan. It is just a minor clan in Lone Island. We do not have information regarding that man," Beruth said.

"Tsk. Subdue him! What face will we have if this gets out?" the youth commanded.

"Yes, your highness," Beruth politely responded before flying over himself. However, he suddenly felt fear. He was still a distance away, but he halted as he felt a dense killing intent targeted at him. When he observed, he realized that it was from Aezir.

"Megher Empire, is it? Let me give you a piece of advice. This is not your den. Even a Scourge Tiger runs away from the grounds of Sacred Drakes. Back off, and I will turn the other cheek," Aezir said while pressing Beruth with killing intent.

Beruth could not help but gulp hard. Aezir's voice was quite loud, so it was heard by everyone on the ship. This inevitably made the youth with golden hair angry.

"How dare you make comments about the Megher Empire!" the youth shouted. He could not help himself since he became the recipient of everyone's gaze. He knew that if he did not handle the situation well, the Megher Empire would be a joke to everyone.

"That brat seems to be your feeder. Why don't you talk to him so his head won't fly off?" Aezir said to Beruth with a smile that sent chills down the spine of Beruth.

"You! Beruth! Kill him!" the youth commanded.

"Y-Your H-Highness, I-I-I--" Beruth hesitated.

Just then, a mighty figure appeared from the ship. He had long and straight white hair, but his features were still of his prime. His skin was smooth and flawless. With his ash-colored eyes, he looked at Aezir with curiosity.

His presence alone made everyone stop talking. Even the golden-haired youth stopped his fit of rage and respectfully looked at the man.

"Good sir, why don't you release our men, and we will call it even?" the white-haired man said.

Aezir did not respond and merely stopped the wind, releasing the armored men from their pin. He then turned and commanded the Flame Blue Jay to fly faster, overtaking the ship.

The crowd was left astounded, not only by the actions of Aezir but the indifference of the white-haired man towards it.

"Sir Fero, how can you just let them go?!" the youth asked in rage.

"Reyl, let it go," Fero said this with a calm voice, but it caused Reyl to bow down in fear. "Beruth, do a better job at preventing the prince from doing idiotic actions in the future," Fero commanded.

Beruth could only lower his head as he waited for Fero to leave.

'That man is dangerous,' Fero thought before heading inside the ship.

Meanwhile, the group of Aezir was still tense. They just offended an empire that is just as strong as The House of Nelpon. They were scared beyond their wits, but at the same time, they were amazed by how Aezir handled the situation. They had a lot of questions, but in the end, they kept them to themselves.

The rest of the journey went smoothly. The Flame Blue Jay landed before the gate of the capital before flying away after Aezir and his group went inside.

"Woah." The five teens could not help but be amazed by the look of the capital. Humans filled every corner of the streets, making a busy atmosphere. Merchant stalls stood everywhere, all filled with a bunch of customers. There were also large establishments that had guards stationed all over them.

"The capital is really great!" Shaia said.

'Great, huh?' Aezir sighed in his thoughts.

They wandered around for a bit before being stopped by Aezir after seeing a particular street that was void of people.

"This street feels grim. How can there be no people there?" Jun asked.

"There are a lot of people there," Aezir said.

The teens looked at Aezir in confusion, but it quickly turned into amazement after they entered the street. They saw a much larger place with ancient establishments and some people walking around. The atmosphere was still grim, but there were definitely people inside.

"What just happened?" Jia asked.

"That is a spatial fold. It is still located in that very street, but the space around it is much bigger than it looks outside," Aezir briefly explained.

"What are we doing here?" Jia continued asking.

"We will meet the connection I talked about," Aezir said with a smile.
