Banquet (3)

Outside an old but still neat and decent-looking wooden building, a group of six was standing. They were all staring at the house, while five of them wondered why their leader had brought them there.

"He lives here?" Geth asked.

"Let us hope," Aezir said with a smile. 'He should still be alive, right? A man like him who lives in seclusion and away from the world should not die,' Aezir thought before wantonly entering the establishment.

Inside, a neat house greeted them. Even though one can tell that the house is old, no speck of dust can be seen. The air felt light, and the room smelled nice. The room was relatively empty aside from wooden chairs, tables, and shelves filled with books.

The children merely looked around, unfazed, but Aezir could not help but let out a smile.

"Everyone, get out for a moment. Do not wander around," Aezir ordered.

When everyone left, he took a seat before saying, "It had been a while, Xenon," Aezir said with his eyes closed while smiling.

The space began to fluctuate a little, then a man with Runes drawn all over his body appeared out of thin air. He looked at Aezir in curiosity as he sat opposite him.

"Forgive me for not opening my eyes. I am currently unable to withstand your curse at the moment," Aezir said while still smiling.

"It is not a curse!" the man's attitude suddenly turned violent, but he still sat, unmoved. "Who are you?"

"How about you seal this place first, then vow to never tell anyone about me and the conversation we are about to have?" Aezir said.

Xenon stared at Aezir in wonder, but he still did what he was asked. He first drew numerous Rune Series to seal the house before saying, "I, Xenon, hereby invoke the Contract Law. I vow to never tell anyone about anything regarding the man in front of me and the conversation we are about to have. I, Xenon, hereby invoke the Contract-Seal Law. I vow to seal all information that will be on my mind regarding the man in front of me and the conversation we are about to have." Just then, two Grand Runes manifested above him to signify the vows. It then merged into his body, but unlike the other Runes that were already drawn in his body, it disappeared from sight.

"Woah, I must admit, I did not think you would do it," Aezir said with a smile.

"It had been a very long time since I heard my name. Now, who are you?" Xenon asked seriously.

"Hmm," Aezir said. He still hesitated to tell Xenon who he was even though he did not doubt the power of the Laws. 'Will he believe me? It is Xenon; he should still be loyal.'

"Aezir," Aezir said simply.

A suffocating aura immediately filled the room as Xenon glared at Aezir. If any of the teens were still inside, they would have fainted instantly. Aezir, on the other hand, was sitting there without much trouble. This caused Xenon to ease up a little.

"Come on; I wouldn't have died. My Mystic is still the same as before; however, it was severely damaged, so I am nowhere near my strength before. Still, I will not be affected by an Arcaneless attack," Aezir said, then he once again smiled.

Xenon removed the aura, but he still did not say anything. Aezir could not see him, but shock and disbelief could be visibly seen on Xenon's face.

"You do realize that I cannot vow in the Law of Truth since it will alert everyone about my existence, right?" Aezir continued.

"Give me one good reason to believe you unless you do not want to get out here alive," Xenon threatened.

"It is your duty to protect The Plateau," Aezir said.

Xenon Immediately got up and then knelt on one knee before Aezir. What Aezir said immediately made him believe that the latter was telling the truth since only the two of them and the Aeternals knew about this. He did not dare think for a moment that any one of the Aeternals would use Aezir's name.

"Sire, please forgive my ignorance. I even failed to recognize you. I am deeply ashamed," Xenon said with his head lowered.

"Come on, no need to be formal. I am glad that my Law of Deception is still keeping up," Aezir said with a bright smile.

Xenon sat before Aezir once again, saying, "Of course, you are one deceitful fellow after all."

"Rascal. Instead of teasing me, why not get me a beverage?" Aezir said with a small smile.

The two of them enjoyed a talk that lasted for almost three hours. They did not talk about important things; instead, they used it to catch up on the things that happened in the past 300 million years.

"I have company outside, and they have been waiting for almost three hours. Let us talk business now," Aezir said before sipping his tea.

"Of course. What do you need?" Xenon asked.

"Nothing big for now; I just want you to use your connections to get me an invitation to The House of Nelpon banquet that will be happening tomorrow," Aezir said.

"What is wrong with you? You never changed. Everything is always rushed," Xenon said with a soft sigh.

"Then you should know that you must be moving now," Aezir said with a smile.

"Alright," Xenon said before standing. "Oh right, do you want me to come?"

"Must you?"

"If you are going to cause trouble, I should," Xenon said with a meaningful look and a smile.

Aezir then went outside to fetch the teens who were staring at the sky, bored for three hours straight.

"Head inside. We will stay here while we are in the capital. You should rest well; it will be a big day tomorrow," Aezir said with a warm smile. Then, the atmosphere quickly turned grim as Aezir emitted a powerful aura. "You should do well tomorrow," Aezir reminded.

"Yes, sir," the teens answered while gulping hard.
