Pancakes

Ian woke up hyperventilating, his shirt sticking to his body with sweat. He sat there on his bed confused while he waited to calm his body and mind. He has nightmares whenever his birthday nears but he never remembers them once he wakes up.

Ian got ready for a good day, the day being his birthday. He cannot wait to finally find his mate and to mark her. Ian got down to the kitchen to see that the breakfast table is filled with his favorite food with his parents on either sides, huge smiles on their faces. This brough a smile on his face as well, as he went and gave a warm hug to both of them. The small family ate together, with his parents talking about how excited they are for Ian to meet his mate. Nick however, is the most excited among everyone else, howling since they woke up in the morning and running around.

After a fulfilling and happy breakfast, Ian decided to head to the pack house where almost all the pack family members resided. Ian and his parents lived a little far away from the pack house in a little cottage since Ian's parents wanted to live that way, and their Alpha agreed.

Alpha Andrew was a kind and strong person. One of the greatest leaders Ian has ever seen. Because of their Alpha, Riverdale pack was well respected among all the other packs in the world.

Even though the Alpha has his second in command, a Beta, and a third in command, a Delta, Alpha Andrew refused to have Omegas in his pack. The unranked wolves were only members of the pack and they all had the same rights as all other ranked wolves in the pack. The rights of speaking their minds to the ranked members, even the Alpha, taking actions according to their own decisions and most importantly, the right to train since strength is one of the most important things in the werewolf community.

However, certain rules were also put in place for the welfare and peace of the pack. The pack members were not to disrespect any of the ranked members especially their Alpha and were to take full responsibility of their actions while the decisions for the pack itself would be taken by the Alpha.

It took 10 minutes for Ian to reach the pack house by walking and as soon as he entered, the smell of fresh pancakes was everywhere making his wolf hungry again.

He got a couple of smiles and birthday wishes on the way to the kitchen and saw his best friend eating away almost 8 pancakes on his plate. Their Luna was preparing the breakfast while a few other chefs helped her. Ian heard her wish him a happy birthday while smiling at him and Ian smiled back saying a soft thank you.

Ian sat next to Nathan smiling before he heard a loud scream and felt a tight hug. Ian shook his head laughing seeing how his best friend kept jumping while hugging his body. "Okay that's enough now" Ian says to him chuckling. "I can't believe my best friend is finally a man" Nathan says while fake sobbing into Ian's chest. Ian chuckled a little and pushed him away. "Can't wait to abandon him once we find our mate" Nick says sarcastically rolling his eyes. Their Luna also chuckled seeing Nathan's antics and ruffled his hair.

The day went by smoothly with little bickering between Ian and Nathan while they spent time with the little kids at the pack house. As it was a holiday, both Ian and Nathan spent time having as much fun as they can have before the dreadful classes start again.

Before Ian went back to his home, the sun was already setting. His best friend hugged him and told him "get ready for your party at my house tonight" before he ran away laughing loudly like a maniac. Ian shook his head laughing as well, as he made his way to his home. He was already dreading to go to the party knowing how loud it's going to be but it was his 18th birthday and he could not deny his bestfriend some fun time.

Thirty minutes later, Ian got ready for the party. He can't help but feel excitement as almost all of the high school kids would possibly be there at the party and Ian might be able to find his mate tonight. He checked himself in the mirror for the last time before heading out. He was wearing a white shirt with dark jeans, his hair gelled back neatly. He had to look his best tonight in case he finds his mate. He had to agree he looked handsome and was anticipating a wonderful night.
