Belonging To The Same Species

Ian's pov

I find myself anxiously playing with the buttons of my shirt when we finally got closer to the Silver Moon Pack. I can feel Natalia's excitement as she looked at me.

"You're gonna be the best male Luna for the pack. I'm sure they're gonna love you so don't worry too much baby" She says a little worried for me while squeezing my hands a little, reassuring me that she was there with me and that everything was going to be alright.

I was just a normal wolf yesterday and being a very important rank member of one of the biggest packs in the world in a blink of an eye is going to take some time getting used to, no doubt. I nod my head at my beautiful mate and try to calm my nerves as the car came to a halt right infront of a huge mansion that looked like it came straight out of an 80's movie.

I scanned my surroundings as soon as I got out of the car and needless to say, the place was nothing less than a fairytale. Huge trees surrounded the place as if guarding it from intruders. Acres of forest surround the pack territory and a person could easily get lost if they are unaware of their path.

My attention is caught by the sweet but stern voice of my mate. "My love, meet my Beta Maximus and my Delta Aiden." She says as she introduces two of the most powerful members of the pack. Aiden has dark black hair and black eyes. He was tall, almost 6 feet but not taller than Maximus who was my same height and had light blue eyes and dirty blonde hair. Both of them looked like they never missed a single day of training for the last ten years.

"Hi my name is Ian Marcus. It's a pleasure to meet you" I say as I put my hand forward for a handshake only to be tightly hugged by Maximus and Aiden. "It's so good to finally meet you. We were afraid Nate was cursed to not have a mate by the Moon Goddess" I heard Aiden say sarcastically with a fake whimper.

I heard my mate chuckle a little at the action, successfully giving me goosebumps all throughout my body. Her laughter was the single most amazing sound I have ever heard and I can't wait to listen to it for the rest of my life.

"Max, Aiden! let go guys he's going to suffocate." She says while grabbing my biceps and removing my body from a rather painful embrace.

She holds my hand as she leads me to the entrance of the mansion with Max and Aiden trailing behind us laughing and joking among themselves.

"These guys are really not what I expected the Beta and Delta of the most powerful pack to be. Nethan and these guys belong to the same species no doubt" I heard Nick say sarcastically with a rather dramatic eye roll.

It was the first time I saw this happy and carefree side of my mate and I was curious to find out more sides to her. It was not a secret that her pack means a lot to her and for that, I was proud.

Max and Aiden were creating a loud commotion inside the kitchen as Natalia showed me around the mansion, which took atleast an hour before finally stopping right infront of a massive double door. "And this is our room" she says pointing towards the said room. I gulp down nervously as I see her pupils darken a little.

"Look my love, I'm not gonna do anything if you're not ready or if you're not comfortable enough. I know it's a lot to handle and we can wait until you fully adjust. We can announce the pack about you later too." She says looking sadly and sympathetically into my eyes.

I hold both of her hands in mine. "Thanks for that Red. I know it's hard for you too since you would want to mark me as soon as possible but I'm a little overwhelmed by the sudden change. I want nothing more than to be with you for the rest of my life and you're already the biggest blessing I've ever gotten. But I feel like we need to take things a little bit slower and get to know each other better before we take things forward." I gaze deeply into her beautiful green eyes with the utmost adoration and love, while receiving the same from her.

"I love the nickname. Get changed baby, and have some rest. The doctor said you fainted due to exhaustion" she says before she kissed my cheeks and turned to leave, but the blush forming on her cheeks didn't go unnoticed.

I smile at my adorable mate thanking the Moon Goddess for giving me such a precious treasure when suddenly, her words reminded me of the night when I met her. I have yet to disclose everything to her and I know that I'm supposed to do it as soon as possible, but I was nervous for her reaction.

I made up my mind to tell her everything soon before I opened the door to our bedroom with a new found determination. I cannot leave her in the dark and who knows, she might have the answers to my enhanced abilities.
