The smell of delicious roasted chicken and sausages filled the atmosphere as Ian sat on a log near the barbecue. There was a light breeze in the atmosphere making it a little cold as it made Ian shiver. Nick was growling hungrily in the back of his mind.
Ian observed the scene infront of him. They were under a huge oak tree infront of the pack house, some pack members grilling the barbaque while some of them having conversations and laughing with each other. Some were sitting on logs and singing while a young boy played the guitar. Overall, it looked like a happy and peaceful place to be in but in contrast to what he was seeing, Ian was going through an internal turmoil.
It has been three days since Ian first came to this pack and he still has not revealed the whole truth about himself and about that night when he first met his mate. Even though he desperately wanted to, she was almost always busy with pack business with the Beta and Delta. They did get to spend time together but it wasn't enough for Ian to tell her something so serious.
Ian looked at the little kids playing around the grounds and their parents laughing and talking among themselves. This made him reminisce the day when he told his parents that he had to leave them for a while. Although he clearly explained to them that he found his mate who is the Alpha of the neighbouring pack and that it would be very difficult for him to stay, they were not happy about it to say the least.
Especially his mom, who was crying hysterically and begging Natalia to keep him in Riverdale Pack but this was too dangerous as enemies of Silver Moon reside everywhere. Ian was the only child of his parents so their excessive worrying was justified especially after the death of their youngest. However, Natalia could not bear a single bruise to her mate. It took a great deal of consoling from both Natalia and Ian for them to finally agree to it. Ian had to promise that he would visit them frequently and that he would call them regularly.
It was disappointing that Ian was not able to meet Nathan since he had to pack his belongings and leave immediately to a completely new life. However, Ian decided that he would definitely meet his best friend and tell him everything once he goes back to Riverdale to meet his parents.
His studies however, was something that concerned him. He knew he would have to change schools and move to the school in Silver Moon Pack. This would mean that he might have to make new friends as well. Natalia graduated early as she needed to take care of the pack and without her and Nathan, Ian would feel out of place in a new high school. He already has missed two days of classes since he was under strict bed rest by his mate and he needed to keep up with the syllabus soon.
However, it would be a lie for Ian to say that he regrets leaving Riverdale. For the past three days, Ian has gotten nothing but love and affection from all the pack members. Even though they didn't question their Alpha or Ian about his rank, most of them have seen Ian and Natalia together giving them a pretty good idea about who he was for the pack. Ian felt happy and content in Silver Moon like he belonged there.
After a while of thinking about random things, Ian remembered the first night when him and his mate shared a bed together three days ago. Ian was visibly nervous and he noticed that his mate was trying to keep a cool facade but failing miserably. As both of them laid on either sides of the bed, the only thing that could be heard was their erratic heart beats.
Thirty minutes later as he laid nervously frozen, he finally heard her heart beat slow down and her breath even down. He slowly moved his left arm under her head and softly placed her head on his chest. He felt the breathtaking sparks between them as he closed his eyes feeling happy and satisfied with his mate in his arms. That was how they have been sleeping every night since then.
Ian was suddenly out of his thoughts as he felt someone's touch on his shoulders effectively grabbing his attention. He looked back to see his beautiful mate with a huge smile on her face. "I missed you so much today. What were you thinking about baby?"
"Nothing much. I missed you a lot too, Red." Ian says as he smiles back at her.
"Want to go for a run?" Natalia says with full of excitement. A run has been long overdue and Nick has been crying to meet Natalia's wolf, Rose, since they first met.
"Finally! It's my time to shine. I'm gonna show her some warewolf moves" Ian heard Nick say which he completely ignored.
"Sure I would love to" Ian responds as he stands up from the log and hold his mate's hand. She led them both to the entrance of the huge forest where both of them changed and shift into their wolves. Nickolas got a head start as he immediately ran wherever his paws led him before he heard his mate's paws banging on the ground right next to him. Natalia couldn't help but notice how fast her mate was running. She was barely able to keep up with him.
Nickolas gave her a toothy grin before he jumped on top of her effectively making them both fall on the ground and making them roll around on top of each other for a couple of seconds. He stood up on his four paws as he notices how still Rose was with her eyes closed.
"Oh My Goddes I killed our mate!" Nick thinks to Ian as he starts to panick while nudging his snout against hers desperately.
"You and your stupid warewolf moves really has to stop! Now try to wake her up!" Ian was trying not to lose his calm when suddenly, Rose pops both of her eyes open to reveal her natural blood red pupils staring right at Nick's blue ones.
"Fooled you!" Rose thinks to Nick as he jumps a little from the shock. Both Nickolas and Rose are able to mind link and think to each other but it is not possible for their human forms to do so since they are not fully mated yet. Both of them have to bite each other where their marks will reside in order to complete the mating process. Ian also hasn't formed any mind links with the rest of the pack members which will only be possible after his inauguration ceremony.
Nick huffed angrily as he saw his mate get on her faw paws and start to run. "Come along! I'm going to show you somewhere. One of my favourite places in our pack territory" she mind links to Nickolas.
As they both head towards the said place with Rose guiding the way, both Nickolas and Ian felt happy beyond words could describe. He only prayed for this happiness to last.
