CAPTURED

THE same night, Levi's car was suddenly apprehended while on their way home. He pulled over on the side. Lianne stared at him waiting for his reaction.

Levi was surprisingly calm when three men in police uniforms at the checkpoint searched his vehicle. With his long year of service, he knew this checkpoint was a sham. There were no visible police cars around. They only had the signage, which obviously looked fake, aside from the fact that their choice of place was away from the usual volume of cars passing by. The area was dark and infamous for having criminal activities now and then.

Levi could drive passing these thugs and ignore them. But he found it a rare opportunity. At least he would not make much effort to look for them. They'd serve as bait in the meantime that he couldn't get their boss yet.

"Get out!" one of the men in uniform forced him to get out of the car.
