XI- Our first kiss

Day 11

JOHN

I made the decision to have tea and relax on the balcony after I woke up in order to finish writing my novel's manuscript. I have to finish it so Mary can read it since Evan and I have a social engagement tonight that is also the wedding anniversary celebration for Mary and Paul. Evan had woken up and joined me on the balcony, which I discovered while I was typing. He was brewing his own tea when he said, "Good morning." He was only wearing boxers, but I couldn't help but stare at him. I felt myself becoming warmer, so I shook my head to get the thought out of my head.

I said, "Good morning," and he glanced at me, and I grinned. He showed me his wrist with the bracelet we bought at Sunflowerville on it and replied, "Thanks for this bracelet anyway." Along with that, I extended my wrist to show him the bracelet I was wearing.

I said, "I got mine, and you got yours; actually, I was planning on giving it to you on the last day of our trip, but because of the marriage booth, I was able to give it to you in advance," and he just smiled forcibly.

Perhaps he recognized that the time was drawing near for our separation. He came to where I was and sat down across from me after making the tea. He stared at the bracelet as I said, "Promise me you'll wear that every time, okay?"

He looked at me and replied, "I will, so I can remember you and feel like you're right next to me." Because of how corny he stated it, we exchanged glances and giggled. He responded, laughing, "I'm getting gentler every time I talk to you," which made me laugh even harder.

EVAN

I haven't been able to shake the entire scenario from yesterday's marriage booth. At the time, I was in love with the sensation, and I found the occurrence to be extremely real. Although I just want to be married to John, I seem to like getting married much more now than I did before I stopped fantasizing about it.

I cast my eyes on my bracelet. It drew my attention constantly. I don't want to remove it since I feel it has a unique meaning for me. I turned and saw John. While I was just sitting on the bed watching TV, I saw him on the balcony typing something on his typewriter.

Simply put, I considered him to be very special to me. Even with Jean or the others I've been in relationships with in the past, solely with him, I've never felt this way before.I then thought of the flash drive Jean had given me. As soon as I stood up, I unlocked the small drawer next to John's bed on the opposite side. When I opened it, the flash drive was the first thing I noticed, so I quickly took it and changed into casual clothes.John paused typing on the typewriter and gave me a surprised, bewildered expression.

He questioned me while I was getting dressed, "Are you going somewhere?"

I smiled at him and said, "I'm just going to get some fresh air; don't worry, I'll be back soon. If you want to, you can just follow me; I'll be right there by the lake." He also grinned at me and nodded while continuing what he was doing. He pointed at the typewriter and said, "I'll just stay here and wait for you, I still have to finish this."

I put on my clothes and nodded, fixing my hair and looking in the mirror.

If I think about it, I forced myself on John in an effort to make him happy, even just a little, and I also took advantage of his feelings, not in a terrible way, so I cannot hold him responsible for making me feel guilty. I knew he was drawn to me physically, and I leveraged that to bring us closer. Of course things got out of hand; he fell, but I fell harder.

When I made him happy on that beach, I realized how sweet and sincere his smile was, and I realized it wasn't just physical attraction. And I wanted nothing more than to see him grin in order to make him even happier. I pulled the flash drive out of my cargo shorts pocket and carefully examined it as soon as I arrived at the lake. Simply looking at it makes me enraged, which I can't control. This flash drive only evokes horrible memories, which is why my head is heating up and my blood is boiling.

Before I threw the flash drive into the lake, I thought twice. I was considering if it would be appropriate to throw it into the lake when, all of a sudden, John's face and smiles came to mind. If I throw it here right now, John won't see it and won't know about the negative incidents in my past because John's is more significant to me. I don't want him to feel the same way about me that he did at the amusement park. He was unhappy with me because I went with Jean, but he'll be even more so after seeing what's on the flash drive.

I flung the flash drive too far into the lake and folded my hand where I was holding it. I felt so light as I threw it away that I was instantly happy. My phone began to vibrate, so I pulled it out of my pocket and had a peek at it as I enjoyed the fresh air and thought back to the good times I had shared with John.

Mary told me in an Instagram message that John and I should get ready since tonight all of their guests will be dancing with their partners, including us. A dance with John would be ideal, I thought as I read. As soon as I finished, I strolled back to the hotel room while putting my phone back in my pocket.

JOHN

I've been working on my story, which I'm about done with. I heard the door open abruptly, so I quickly turned to look, and there was Evan, returning. The song Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez had just begun when he walked in, and he immediately turned the TV channel to MTV while giving me a silly grin. He drew near to me before abruptly bowing and extending his hand. He appeared to be offering to dance. I chuckled briefly.

I asked, laughing, "What are you trying to do, Evan?" He joined me.

He winked and asked, "May I dance with you, m'lady?" I laughed and reached out my hand to him; he took it as well. It was also monotonous, and I wanted to take a moment to let my exhausted mind rest, so I rose up at the same time and bowed like a princess. After I finished bowing, I heard him chuckle, but I was taken aback when he abruptly pulled me up to him and grabbed me by the waist.

It seemed like time slowed down the instant he did that. He was holding my hand, and I had my other hand on his shoulder, as I was plastered to his body. He danced with me, and I glanced into his eyes. I gave him the space to carry on with his actions, and we just kept dancing. None of us spoke, as we simply looked into each other's eyes and danced to the music playing on the TV. truly just making eye contact.

I smiled as he twirled me around, but then, all of a sudden, time seemed to stand still. I spun around and watched in slow motion as Evan's face steadily drew nearer to mine. It occurred to me after it was too late that our lips were in close proximity, which startled me at first because I assumed I was just feeling lightheaded. In horror, I widened my eyes. I just got a kiss from Evan! With his eyes closed, he is giving me a deep kiss, and I can feel it. The sound of my racing heart suddenly took the place of the music in my ears. I couldn't help but close my eyes and give Evan a kiss in return as he tried to intensify the kiss.

As he intensified the kiss, I could feel his hold around my waist becoming more firm and his other hand supporting me by holding the back of my head. He picked me up unexpectedly but kept kissing me. We kissed each other's lips passionately as if there was no tomorrow. I had the impression that he had gently laid me down on the bed during the kiss.

While kissing, we both giggled, but we carried on with our actions. However, all of a sudden, he stopped, leaving me hanging. My eyebrows brushed as I gazed at him after trying to kiss him back but failing because of his avoidance and his gentle laughter.

He kissed me again, gently, on both cheeks, on the forehead, and then on the lips, merely a light kiss. "Let's save it for later, okay?" he said, and then we both gazed at each other, smiling and inspecting every nook and cranny of our faces.

I asked him suddenly, "Will you catch me if I fall?" He caressed my face with his warm, smooth palm and murmured, "I already did the minute you fell for me."

I laughed and replied, "So you already know that I fell for you?" He just nodded and gave me one last kiss.
