Hell's training pt 4:Intent

They'd reach Ivy's hideout, it was a small opening in the forest with a wide tree at the center.

"Woah, that's a wide tree!"Victor said excitedly.

"Hmm? Oh yeah I guess."(Ivy)

"Looks like you're walking fine now, took you long enough."She said.

"Yeah, yeah just teach me this bloodlust thing already."

She walked towards the tree and sat at the base of it, victor sat in front of her.

"You might know, the word Bloodlust is the intent to kill or maim others, but there's a variation to how to use it.

For example, I could sense your intent of fear while you tried to escape me, the nervousness I felt from you was

For example, while you hid your intent was "I have to hide before she catches up", your blood was pounding like bright flames, but it was nervousness you felt.

it was easy to find you this way."(Ivy)

"I still don't get it."(Ivy)

"Hmmm..... I'm more of a practical kind of person than an explanatory type."(Ivy)

"But I have to teach you the basics before you can put it into practice."(Ivy)

"I can only summarise it in 4 words

'Feel your opponent's intent.' "(Ivy)

"Feel my opponent's intent?"(Victor)

"There is no way a human can move without thinking first, even if it's a reaction the person has a spilt second to think before the body acts, use that split second to know what your opponent's going to do and also use that same split second to think of a counter."

"Huh, I'm supposed to use a split second to fight and react to an opponent whose also using a split second to react?"Victor.

"Doesn't that mean the opponent has more of an advantage than me?

Since he is just using his split second to react but I have to react, think then counter.

"That's why you have to learn to feel it even before he gets to react."(Ivy)

"Hmm, sounds hard, difficult, and IMPOSSIBLE, I can't think that fast!"Victor yelled.

"You have precognition yes?"

"I did if you hadn't poked my eyes."(Victor)

"Your precognition is somewhat similar to bloodlust."(Ivy)

"In what way?"

"In terms of combat only, seeing what the enemy is going to do before he does it and counteracting.....but yours isn't full proof."

"What do mean not full proof?

I can see the future, how much more proof do I need."(Victor)

"I hate cocky kids," Ivy said looking at victor angrily.

"That doesn't explain why my precog Isn't more useful than your blood lust!"Victor yelled.

Okay, you want to know how?

fine I'll show you.

She dragged him to a river and shoved his face in to could get rid of the sand she put in his eyes when she jabbed him.

"Finally I can see again."(Victor)

"Now fight me!"(Ivy )

"What do you mean, I've barely recovered from the beating I got from you."(Victor)

"I want to show you the difference between our abilities, and I'll still beat you up if you refuse."

"If I win then can I leave?"(Victor)

"Yes"(Ivy)

"Fine, I'll do it."

She lead him to the grounds she uses for her training, trees covered the sky, and a cold wind was blowing.

"The only skill I'm gonna be using is Precognition."Victor

"..." Ivy

She closes her eyes and goes for an attack

Victor dodges.

"Hey wait I didn't say go yet!"

She turned again to land a blow on his face but it grazes him.

"Tch, okay then let's go!"

He runs up to her to land his blow but she dodges and kneed him in the stomach.

"GAH!!!"(Victor)

POV:Victor.

What the hell is happening, I saw her doing that before she did it...but I couldn't..dodge it?

Crap she's coming.

*She kicked victor in his still recovering leg and gave three heavy punches to his stomach, chest, and jaw...

He flew backward and hit a tree.

His back was against a tree but couldn't move because of the pain.

She rushes over to where he was to give him the final blow.

Pov victor:

My....precognition.....failed?

But.....how?

"Ouch!"

Wait, oh no!

This pain only happens when I have a grim future.

I'm can see a future with my head crushed on this tree, I've gotta move, fast!!

He trips as he was about to get up, Ivy was already there about to give the final blow, and Victor closes his eyes accepting his "fate".

She punches a part of the tree above Victor's head, the impact was so tremendous that the 10-foot tree came down.

He opened his eyes later to see Ivy looking down at him.

"...If you're going to laugh and say, "I told you so" then you can. Sorry for being cocky, I guess your bloodlust is superior to my precog," Victor said while lowering his head.

"Kids these days want to grow up so fast that they forget that part of growing up is making mistakes. Don't be a cocky know-it-all for something you don't know, if you don't take my lessons, you'll die, " Ivy.

"Fine, I will"(Victor)

"But, what you did just now is awesome! what power did you use, by the way, you took down a tree this big with a punch that's almost Briggs's level of strength, "Victor

"Power? I don't have one, I'm a regular human, " Ivy

"What?! No way"

"I'm serious, all you useless grace carriers think when a person does something out of the ordinary it's supernatural, "Ivy.

"Grace carriers?"Victor asked.

"You haven't asked where your power comes from yet?"(Ivy)

"I didn't ask about how or where they came from, "Victor

A better question should be:

"Why didn't anyone tell me about grace?"

"Well sadly I don't know much about Grace, but maybe later you can ask Ignatius." Ivy

"You know Ignatius?"Victor

"He found me awhile ago and asked if I wanted to stay at his fancy weird boarding school but I refused and picked here instead.

"That's enough idle chatter lets go back for you to learn this skill, "Ivy

They walked back to base again.

During the walk, victor kept thinking of this "GRACE" that ivy spoke of.

POV victor:

If even ivy knew about it why didn't anyone at HQ mention it to me?

Are they hiding something?

Why is it called grace?

And how come, everyone doesn't have it?

Nah, I'm probably overthinking this I should just learn this skill and get some rest... I'm feeling like I'll pass out.
