“No, I d-don’t want you. Leave me alone.” I tried to say but my voice came out choked and breathy.

When we pulled away from each other, I was panting and everything came into focus. The world around us started to materialise and I held clapping and cheering. I turned to find Inaya clapping so hard and cheering while Casey just watched quietly but I could see a smirk on his face.

I felt heat creep up my face when I realised what had just happened.

"I knew I liked you," Inaya said smiling hugely and then she turned to Casey, "who would have thought the kid had it in him to stand up for himself and the truth." She seemed way more happy about the whole thing than I was and now I was selling really bad for saying all those things to Ryder.

Inaya walked over to me and wrapped her arm around my shoulder. "How did Ryder take it? Was he pissed?" she said, amusement evident in her voice. "Please tell me he was at least furious with that little stunt of yours otherwise this won't be much fun to talk about."
