Chapter 15 New York, 40° 39′ 39.6″ N, 73° 56′ 38.4″ W The Met Breuer

Lian Xi stepped on the gas pedal. Helda Kilstorm's three horde cars chased from behind at high speed. It was chaos in downtown Manhattan. Plus, the chaser started firing.

Cecilia, who was sitting in the front, had to close her eyes many times and held on tightly to the car dashboard as Lian Xi weaved through the traffic. While maintaining her focus, Lian Xi shouted at Andalas.

"Where are we?! This is bad for us if we continue to be on these congested streets."

While Andalas was thinking hard, Cecilia answered.

"Just take them to the highway. There will be a lot of collateral damage if we stay on this road."

Lian Xi turned on the car GPS. The highway wasn't far ahead. She pressed on the gas deeper which was completely floored.

A tense car chase along the highway leading out of Manhattan. Lian Xi put her driving skill to the test. The three cars in the back had skillful drivers too.

At the back Andalas and Akiko was holding AK 47 cocked and loaded. Helda and her gang weren't to be underestimated at all. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been called the Baltic Killer.

Andalas's gaze suddenly caught something odd on the roof and side walls of the car. It looked like this part wasn't installed properly or it was intentional. Andalas ran his fingers along the connection between the wall and the roof. Hmm, as expected. Luigi also turned out not to be underestimated.

Andalas removed some of the small hinges between the back wall and the roof. Leaving one last hinge. Waiting for the right moment.

One pursuit car managed to get closer. They started to push their bodies toward the window getting ready to shoot. Andalas used his binoculars. He could not see Helda among them.

Andalas gestured to Akiko not to shoot back while bullets whizzing past them. As the pursuit car approached and the gunfire intensified, Andalas quickly removed the last hinge. The walls and roof of the rear of the car flew instantly and landed on the windshield of the chaser car.

There was a loud sound as the metal plate hit the windshield. Then there was a loud squeal of brakes accompanied by the car's body drifting off the highway after hitting the dividing wall.

Akiko looked impressed with how Andalas came up with the trick.

With no roof, Akiko was freely opened fire using the AK 47 in her hand. The two cars behind quickly slowed down. It was too dangerous to be close.

Andalas grabbed parts of a rifle from the bag. He assembled them quickly. Once it was done, he put bullets in and cocked it.

Bang… Bang! The second car bounced high into the air after the two front tires were hit by the large caliber bullet. The third car immediately swerved and stopped on the side of the highway. They knew how dangerous Andalas was with his rifles. And it was proven right away. Just as the driver of the third car was about to drive as Helda ordered, his head was blown off. The car immediately stopped and didn't move an inch, it seemed that Helda was reluctant to lose her head too.

Again, Akiko looked at the man next to her with admiration. Extraordinary!

Lian Xi walked out at the nearest expressway exit quietly after they managed to get rid of all the attackers. Andalas reached for the deposit box in his shirt pocket and opened it with a small key from Milan.

Everyone who was watching, except Lian Xi who was still focused on driving, wasn't at all surprised when Andalas took out two keys from the small box. One small key to open the next deposit box and another even smaller key. On the tag, it was written, The Met Breuer-Third Renaissance Painting.

Andalas and Akiko looked at each other. The Met Breuers?

Cecilia broke the silence by saying.

"The Met Breuer is a museum in New York devoted to contemporary classics."

Akiko stared at Cecilia without blinking. She wanted an explanation.

"So we need to go there. Look for the paintings of the Third Renaissance and find out what secrets are in them."

Without anyone asking, Lian Xi typed on the GPS screen looking for The Met Breuer. The car made a slight turned at a fork heading back to the city center.
