The Creature’s Maw, II

Dawn had overtaken the sky as the sun rose.

Different species of birds singing here and there could be heard.

"Gh, ahhm…" I stretched my arms out as I yawned, still feeling tired and sleepless.

Sean was next to me sleeping soundly.

Why is this idiot sleeping in the same tent with me when he already has a girlfriend? He really got no game whatsoever.

I slowly crawled outside the mini-house and stood up.

I took a moment to savor the sight and fresh morning air.

I slowly inhaled.

Held my breath for five seconds.

And exhaled, "Hah…"

Well then, let's begin our morning routine.

Is it a routine if I do however many swings I want to?

I don't know and I won't dwell on it.

For now, five hundred slashes.

"One."

"Two."

"Three."

"Four."

I counted with puffing breaths as the blade tore through the air, the whips being hearable to the ear.
