He looked at Mary, panting breathlessly and pushed open the double door for her.
They both stepped into the door and were greeted by the scent of some tantalizing aroma.
She was astonished, the moment she entered. There was a luxurious chandelier, hanging on the ceiling and the room was as humongous as a ballroom.
There was a table in the middle of the room and it looked like it could fit 15 people or more. There were chairs around the table and there was plenty of food prepared on the table.
She stood there, couldn't believe her eyes. She was so amazed, that she didn't even notice he already entered the dining room, coiling up next to the table.
He looked at Mary and hissed at her. She snapped out of it and closed the door behind her but for some reason, she couldn't close it. He hissed at her again but this time it sounded louder and it sounded in pain.
She turned her glazed back to the door and looked down. She saw the tip of his tail sliding in. Her face turned pale as she slowly looked back at him.
She immediately bowed down(90 degrees)and apologized profusely. She heard him let out a troubled hiss. She slowly peeked at him.
He was wearing an uneasy expression, shaking his hands, wanting her to stop. She understood and stood up straight.
He beamed at her and petted a chair on his right. Mary approached and sat on a chair, leaving an empty chair between both of them.
He saw the way Mary sat on the chair. He seemed like he wanted to learn. He got close to her and sat next to her. His tail was coiled up around him as he sat down.
He looked at her proudly, wanting her to praise him. Mary ignored him and took a bowl of salad. Mary turned to look back at him.
He was shoving an entire chicken into his mouth, eating rapidly. Mary turned back to her bowl of salad and ate it. Suddenly, she felt something poke her shoulder.
She turned and saw him holding a chicken wing. Mary looked at him and thought.
Is he trying to fatten me and eat me?
He looked at Mary making her decision. He didn't wait for Mary to give him answers and put it in her bowl. She noticed and took it up and faced it to him.
"I'm full, you can have it."She said casually.
He looked at her and nodded. He took it back and put it on his plate. She looked at him, eating and suddenly thought of something.
She said, "Do you know how to write?"
He looked at Mary, shaking his head. Mary gazed around the room and saw a napkin. She snatched it and took out a pen from her pocket. She thought for a while and wrote-Hi, My name is Mary.
Then, she turned her view to him and said.
'This is how you write. Do you understand?'
He nodded with a smile.
Mary gave him the pen and said.
"Can you write something? Like your name?"
He nodded and gestured his head on the napkin and wrote something. But there wasn't any ink on the napkin. She looked at him and gazed at his pen.
He didn't open the pen.
"Why didn't you open your pen? Do you not know how to?"
He glanced at her, blushing slightly and nodded.
Mary took the pen and pressed on the pen while he looked at her seriously. She scribbled on the napkin and pressed the top again.
"You have to press this to open it and if you press it again it will close."She said, looking back at him."Do you understand?"
He nodded and took the pen from her hand. He pressed the top and wrote something on the napkin-Lucius.
"Is that your name?"She said curiously.
He nodded.
"Wow! You sure are a quick learner. It's only your first time writing and you could write it so neatly."
He looked at Mary with a proud expression.
