Refusing

Mary took the drawing board from Lucius and stared at the illustration. It was a drawing of Mary, sitting on the bathroom floor and a towel covered her body.

Mary stared at it and blinked a few times, stunned.

"Umm...It's an extremely realistic art but..." Mary's face began to blush, embarrassed."Do you have to draw me like that!? It's really embarrassing you know!"

Lucius flinched and glanced at the art, blushing. He took the drawing board away from Mary and threw it into a corner. Then, he hastily slithered to a table and get his notebook.

He wrote something on it while slithering toward Mary. When he was in front of Mary, he took the book up and let her see what he wrote.

It was an apology message. I'm sorry for drawing you like that. It's just...I subconsciously drew that. I didn't know what I was drawing in the first place.

Mary stared at him and her cheeks still blushing red. While Lucius was staring at her with an apologetic face.

"It's alright."Mary said, covering half her blushing face with her palm."Everyone makes mistakes."

Lucius's ears were down and wrote. Are you still mad?

"No...actually.I wasn't mad...I was just really shocked."

Lucius looked at her, his ears stood straight and his pupils were sharp, shocked. Then, his pupils suddenly turned round in an instant, relaxed and smiling at her.

He held her up with both his hands and took her to the easel that he was drawing on just now. He coiled up his tail and placed Mary on his tail.

Mary sat down on his tail without complaint while Lucius sat next to her too. He reached his hand to the table next to the easel and took another drawing board.

While he was doing that, Mary felt her feet weren't touching the floor. She glanced down and saw her feet, dangling above the floor.

She glanced to the floor and to Lucius, wondering how he could be so massive and strong. She swung her legs, relaxing on his tail while Lucius took the board and placed it on the easel, sticking a paper on the board.

He turned his face to Mary and smiled, gently, realizing she was finally comfortable with him. Mary noticed his appearance and blushed.

"Can't I be comfortable around you? Aren't you the one who wanted me to trust you first?"

Lucius smiled and nodded, cheerfully. Then, he turned his head back to the easel and drew on the paper.

Mary sat there on his tail, looking at what he was drawing. He was drawing so fast that Mary couldn't see his hand, clearly.

Mary wanted to lay down on his tail but she couldn't. She was afraid, she would fall.

She sat there, trying to lie down a few times but always ended up nearly falling. Lucius felt movement on the spot, where Mary was sitting.

He turned his head and noticed Mary, trying hard to sit straight. He used the tip of his tail to block Mary's back, allowing her to lay on the tip of his tail.

Mary laid on his tail, safely.

"Thanks! I appreciated that!"Mary said, thankfully. "Ah...right!"

Mary suddenly sat up straight again and jumped down from his tail. Lucius hissed at her, confused.

"Well... your tail is still injured so...I don't want to put too much pressure on it."

Lucius looked at her, stunned and put the pen down on the table. He shook both his hands.

"Really...I don't want to sit on your tail. I know your tail must still be in a lot of pain."Mary said, worriedly.

Mary slowly moved to get a chair but was stopped by two hands below either side of her armpits. Lucius pulled her up with his hands, like holding a cat and placed her back on his tail.

Mary kept refusing to sit down while Lucius held her down and insisting her to sit. After a while of refusal, Mary gave up and sat on his tail, silently, looking at him, continuing his exquisite art.

After a few seconds, he was done. Mary immediately recognised the illustration. It was an art of her, holding a pen in her hand and writing on a napkin.

"Wait! Isn't this the first time, I teach you how to write?"Mary said, astonished.

Lucius nodded, proudly.

Mary took the art off the easel and gazed at it, closely, admiring his work. Then, she said.

"You still remember my face so clearly. I'm impressed, really. Thanks!"Mary beamed at him.

Lucius stared at her, his mouth was opened, shocked. Then, he closed his mouth shut and nodded.

How could I forget about your appearance after what you did for me? Lucius thought while smiling.
