Worry

Mary looked at him, silently while blushing intensely. She didn't know how to reply to him. She sat there, embarrassed while the words Lucius wrote kept flowing through her head, making her blush even redder.

She was still in her embarrassed state until she heard a hiss. She looked at where the hiss was coming from and her eyes landed on Lucius. He was tilting his head, confused by Mary's silent reaction.

Mary and Lucius looked each other in the eye, not knowing what to say. Until Mary broke the silence.

"Do you want to eat anything? I'll go fetch it for you. "Mary said while walking toward the door.

Lucius stared at her, his eye was sharp. He hissed at Mary and hurriedly crawled toward her. Mary saw his rush state and asked.

"What do you want? Do you want to go with me?"

He nodded, intensely and sat on the floor with a sad look in his eyes. His ears and tail were down while he looked at her with a pitiful expression. It was hard to refuse this look of his but she needed to.

"But you can't go with me."Mary said while Lucius stared at her with a frown."You're injured and you can't even stand. How are you even able to go with me?"

By now, he was already sitting in front of the door. He stretched out his hands, blocking Mary's way. Even though he was sitting on the floor, he was the same height as Mary. Mary was shocked by his defensive movement but soon tried to talk him out of it.

"Lucius..."She said with a guilty feeling."You need to let me go on my own. Do you want the both of us to starve here?"

Lucius heard what she said and stared at her with an upset look which made Mary feel extremely guilty. But no matter what, she can't let him follow.

"No...you can't come with me. You need to rest up. Just take it as a favour for how much you did for me."

Lucius silently looked at Mary, which made Mary think she got through him. But it wasn't enough to convince him to let her go as he shook his head, forcefully.

Mary sighed while not knowing what to say. She thought for a while before she tried another tactic on him.

"Lucius...you know...I went on my own quite a few times whenever you passed out..."Mary said, hesitantly, knowing that he was going to be upset or angry.

Lucius looked at her, shocked and as he was about to open his mouth to hiss at her. Mary quickly continued to block him.

"Well...If I don't do all of that how do you think you can survive till now? You have been injured a lot of times. Don't you think it was necessary for me to do so?"

Lucius was speechless, he didn't know how to reply to her. He soon gave in and crawled to the side, letting Mary access the door.

"Thank you!"Mary said with a smile while Lucius was looking at the floor, sadly."I promise I'll come back as soon as possible."

Mary opened the door and walked out of the room. Before she shut the door, Lucius was looking at her, his eye was filled with concern as Mary slowly closed the door. She walked down the corridor and saw the familiar wooden double door.

She pushed open the double door and was greeted by the same tantalising aroma. She walked around the dining table to find an object, she could use to carry Lucius's food. She knew he had a big appetite as he was larger than any other normal people she knew.

As she was walking around the table, she found a tray. When she got hold of the tray, she began to fill it with all types of food, she could find. After a while, when the tray was filled, she sat down on a chair. She placed the tray on the table and began to think of something she had forgotten to do.

She placed a hand on her head and began to think seriously.

What was I supposed to do again?... I remember it's related to the question I asked Lucius...What is it again...

Mary sighed as she couldn't think of what she was about to do. She stood up from the chair and took the tray of food with her. She walked to the double door and noticed the door was still open.

Oh...it seems I forgot to close the door...Good thing there weren't any experiments around. And if I did close the door...it would be quite troublesome to open the door with a tray in my hand.

She walked out of the room and walked along the corridor to where Lucius was at. As she reached the door, she stopped and looked to her right. She saw the staircase leading to the second floor. While she was staring at it, she remembered what she wanted to do.

She walked up the stairs and into a room. It was a bedroom. She placed the tray on top of a drawer before doing what she wanted to do. For some reason, Mary went straight to the wardrobe and searched for clothes. She rummaged through the wardrobe for some time, before taking out a black shirt.

Then, she tried to find a scissor. After a while of searching through the drawers, she managed to find it. She shoved the scissor into her other pocket, which didn't have a knife and took everything with her.

She walked down the stairs and saw the wooden door where Lucius was in. She knocked on the door before entering and saw Lucius sitting on the floor while staring angrily at her.

Mary knew she was away from Lucius for a long time and she already predicted he would be really mad. With his overprotective personality, he would feel that Mary's absence for a short while, would be like ages.

He hissed, angrily at Mary.

"Ah...I know I'm late."She said, admitting to her mistake while Lucius was still looking at her with a scowl on his face."Come on! Don't look at me like that! Here eat up!"

She placed the tray in front of him. Lucius took some food while eating grumpily but soon his face was carved into a smile. After that, Mary and Lucius ate happily as if nothing had happened earlier.
