Adorable disturbance

Mary woke up, feeling something warm and heavy on her abdomen. She was confused and scared, she dared not open her eyes as she lay there, motionlessly. She was afraid if she moved, it would alert the unknown creature that was on top of her.

What should I do? She thought, worriedly as her breathing became louder and quicker. Calm down, calm up. Don't panic. Lucius is still by my side, he won't let anything like this happen to me as long as his there... Is it Lucius?

Her thoughts made her calm down a little but it wasn't enough to convince her to take the risk. She waited for a few minutes before summoning up her courage when she knew it wasn't going to move for quite some time. She slowly reached out her hands while still closing her eyes, tightly.

She flinched when her hands landed on something fluffy. She hastily withdrew her hands as her breathing increased. She tried to calm herself down while hoping the beast won't wake up. After a while, she reached her hands out again, hoping it was Lucius. She landed her hands on the fluffy beast and gently stroked it.

Unexpectedly, something warm wrapped around Mary's waist and tightened its grasp. Mary panicked and opened her eyes without hesitation and was greeted by a familiar figure-white silky hair with an enchanted handsome face, Lucius. He was hugging her tightly with both his arms while rubbing his face on her abdomen.

Mary blushed, intensely while using her hands to push his head but it wouldn't budge. Instead, it woke him up, he tiredly glanced at Mary and slowly fell back into slumber.

"Lucius? What do you think you're doing?"Mary asked in an embarrassed yet trying to keep calm tone, while her heart was about to explode.

Suddenly, Lucius flinched and slowly lifted himself away from Mary's body while rubbing his uninjured eye. He acted as if he was just awake but Mary knew he was just faking it as his flinch was extremely obvious.

Mary wanted to laugh at him about it but she didn't know how to start as her mind was blank from what happened. She was still blushing while trying to keep a monotone voice as she spoke.

"Since you are awake now, can you please give me some space? You're really close you know?"

Lucius flinched while his pupil was sharp as if he just noticed. He hastily crawled backward and away from Mary, leaving some gap between him and her. Mary felt she could finally breathe when he was away. She exhaled loudly while Lucius looked at her in confusion.

They both sat in silence until Mary saw dates on some trophies on the shelf. She then remembered a question she was longing to ask him.

"Lucius."She called with a gentle smile on her face."I've been wanting to ask you this...When is your birthday?"

Lucius stared at Mary, silently with a shocked look on his face. He seemed stunned by her sudden question and he doesn't seem to have an answer to it. Mary noticed his reaction.

"Eh? Did you not know about your birthday?" Mary asked, uncertain of his reply.

Lucius snapped out of it and switched his gaze to the floor. He used his nails to crave into the wooden floor and wrote something on it. I'm sorry, I can't answer that...I don't remember.

"Oh...It's nothing actually, you don't have to apologize. I was just curious, that's all."

Lucius nodded while sitting on the floor, his tail loosened up. Mary noticed his sitting position and pointed it out to him.

"Lucius" She called out again but this time with a surprise tone."You can sit like that?"

Lucius tilted his head to the side, confused and slowly nodded. Mary blushed.

"Ah...I'm sorry for asking that. I just didn't know you could sit that way. You know, you always sit on your tail."

Lucius stared at her, silently and looked around the room for a while. Then, he switched his gaze to the floor again and craved something on it with his claws.

Mary looked at him, confused and sat next to him. She stared at him, craving on the floor and soon switched her gaze to his abdomen. She looked at his bandaged wounds and unintentionally reached out her hand to poke it.

Lucius flinched while he instantly withdrew his hand away from the floor to push her hand away. Mary saw a hand push hers away, she followed the hand and saw Lucius looking at her nervously.

Mary then noticed what she did and quickly turned away while blushing intensely. When she was still shying away, she saw the words Lucius craved on the floor. Why did you ask?

Mary looked at Lucius again, her face wasn't as bright red as before.

"Do you mean about the date of your birthday?"

He nodded.

"Well...you could say I was just curious."

He looked at Mary, right in the eye and nodded in understanding. He then gently rubbed on his bandaged abdomen.

"Ah...right!"She said while Lucius stared at her, his head tilted to the side, confused."Do your injuries still hurt?"

He looked at Mary and slowly nodded but soon shook his head when he saw Mary's concerned looks.

"Lucius, I know your wounds are not going to heal in one day. You don't have to lie to me."

Lucius shook his head again and pointed his finger at her and smiled.

"Hmm? What do you mean? What about me?"

He used his claws to dig into the floor again and wrote something. It doesn't hurt as long as you are here.

Mary blushed and looked away.

"Why do you keep saying stupid things like this?!" She yelled.

Lucius saw her expression and continued to smile, joyfully. Then, wrote something on the wooden floor.

Mary heard scratching noises behind her and saw his reply.

At least I know there is someone in this world, who still cares about me.
