CHAPTER TEN

"He's right there!" Evelyn screams and pacing around the room. "Imhotep is right there watching me".

Her hair is messy and she doesn't know what to do with her life. With Imhotep alive.. What should she do?

"Tell me what should I do?"

Ardeth leaned on the side of the wall. He had nothing to say. "We shouldn't move back in here, Evy. This was a mistake". said Jonathan. "Still we don't know it will happen again".

"If you leave he will find you". said Ardeth as his eyes on Evelyn and Jonathan. "The curator knows exactly where you lived, even in London. So wherever you go they will know. Too late to go back, you can't turn the time".

"I don't ask for the time to turn". Evelyn stops pacing around the room, now she is standing in front of him. "If I turn the time.. Dakota never existed in my life. I'd just want Dakota, my son and I don't care what it takes as long Imhotep wouldn't disturb my family".

Both men sigh. Evelyn spoke again. "If I had to fight with Imhotep. I fight him. He can't take Dakota away from me!"

Night. City of Cairo. Imhotep wasn't in the abandoned museum nor in his room Baltus Hafez provided for him. He was standing at the top of the building staring at the land of the lights.

Beautiful view as always in the night. Cold breeze slapped on his skin that he liked.

He smelled someone creeping behind him and it was Meela. He begins to notice since she finds out he had a child with Evelyn Carnahan, the woman he loves.

She began to get closer to him, stalking him and whatever she did to get his attention only for her. She will do anything to keep Imhotep to love her.

"What is it you want?" he asked in Egyptian. "You shouldn't be here all alone with me. What will they think".

Gently she approached. "My lords". She bowed. "Why can't you forget that woman, you have me. I was the one who found you".

"With thank you". he smiled, looking over his shoulder where she had stood. "Would be wiser if you don't".

She was about to speak again, he cut her words. "Haven't you desired to have your own.. family".

"Of course. Every woman wants that. A family. Husband and child. Why do you ask my lords?"

"With whom if I ask?"

She bowed, said. "With you my lords". he chuckled. "All I want is you".

"So I understand why you found my corpse beneath those buildings that collapsed in Hamunaptra. You were there in your dream. I don't understand why she isn't in your dream".

"Who wasn't my dream? Of course she won't. Because she had her own dream just like me. There is why she knows her path to where the bracelet has been hidden for thousands years".

And again Imhotep looked at her. Meela then stood beside him. She watched the night view like he did.

"What is the best of these views that you like to see, my lords?" she asked. "It's just the light, the building and people".

Imhotep hummed a bit with a smile. "The light that guides you to the right path. I chose the wrong and I decided to choose the right".

"By your family my lords? Why do you think she will understand all this".

Imhotep smirked, taking a deep breath. "She will. She carried my son".

"Doesn't mean she will accept you in her life!" She is grit. "She won't".

Imhotep took a deep breath again, his eyes never left the view. He doesn't want to get anger because all this stupid matter, neither.. he doesn't want to kill Meela for involving his love between Evelyn and for his son, Dakota.

He just wants a peaceful life he never had before. Everything he had missed, family.. mother and father. He was the only child in the family and he never had a chance to see them again.

Neither he knows, whereas their graves have been buried. Everything is changing now. All this. This is new for him.

"I can force her if I like. She cannot hide from me anymore. I lived inside my son, so I will know where they have been".

He glances over Meela then walks. He leaves her devastating feelings behind. No more talk.

Moments later. Abandoned museum. Meela slammed the door shut from downstairs. Baltus Hafez could hear her back from where exactly he didn't know where she was.

As her feet ran upstairs to the silent corridor then his door burst open. It was Meela with a terribly insane woman. He can see her eyes red like blood, did she bump into something that made her eyes like that?

"Let me guess?" he stared at her. "Trying to confess your love to the lords and yet he rejected. Don't bother yourself, he ain't interested in you".

She marched toward him then slammed her fist on the table. Baltus Hafez smirking. "I'll make sure Imhotep is.. interested in me!"

"Why bother yourself with someone who doesn't love you? Get it right Miss Nais. Imhotep loves that librarian woman and they have a child together. How many times Imhotep tries to tell you. The reason why he's alive is because I need him to kill the Scorpion King. The reason why you are interested in my mission is because you know exactly where Imhotep is buried. So, we two know why Imhotep lived".

Baltus Hafez studied her. "I want what I want and you want what you want. I give you a warning: do not attempt anything or else you will get yourself killed. Do not touch the family without my order".

"You think I don't know what you're trying to do, Hafez. You and I are the same because Imhotep is alive. End up he wanted that bitch and that brat. Never forget who finds him under those buildings!"

She turns her feet and walks back to her room. Lock-Nah hears everything.

"Don't. She is too obsessed with Imhotep".

"I know. I always know why she is here. Imhotep is gone but he will come back like usual. I am still thinking about the bracelet that the librarian had. If you can't do your job.. let me handle this. I got the bracelet without harming the family. I won't risk my life or death".

Hafez nods. No one ever tries to disobey Imhotep's words. "I don't think you are but Miss Nais will. I am afraid she will see the boy without our notice".

"She will. I expected she would be".

The next day at noon. Meela was standing outside the building school, waiting with the picture she had in her hand.

A picture of Dakota. He looks exactly like his mother and is strong like Imhotep. How jealous she is, a boy has everything he barely knows who he was.

As the school bell goes off, the children are running outside. Her eyes searched for Dakota Carnahan between the crowd of students.

And there he was. With a blonde pale young boy beside him. It was Harry.

"My mum asked you if you could spend your weekend in our house". said Harry. "She invited your mum too seems your mum is not well interested, so I guess it was you".

"My mum wasn't interested or pushed your mum's invitation, just.. you know her. She likes adventures. Today she is here, tomorrow she'll be at another place, who knows right. She keeps busy herself".

As Harry and Dakota nod their head, the boys make their way. Dakota headed to the other way while Harry went the other way. This is her chance to talk with him.

She smiles as she approaches Dakota.

"Hi".
