ANXIETY

Malik finds it a bit difficult to believe that his dear son was already so obsessed with his fake sister, he was already including her in all his plans. It looks too good to be true, everything was going so smooth and perfect.

The new siblings clears the table and do the dishes happily. After that, they went to Ella's room to unpack her things, they weren't much anyways. As they started unpacking the things, Ella realizes two important things were missing. Her diary and her necklace, how come she forgot such important things?

Quickly, she rushes to her posing parents who sat opposite sides on the couch watching a movie and writes to them. "Please, I need to go home. I forgot something very important."

"What do you need? I will go get it for you. You shouldn't be close to that house for a while, not until you regain your voice again." Malik tries to explain.

"Yes Ella, you can't go there for now, tell us whatever it is you need. We would go there instead and get it for you." Lola adds.

Ella sighs and writes. "My diary and my necklace, please I need those. I can't sleep without them here."

"You can't sleep?" Malik asks again.

Ella nods. That necklace represents her dad and the diary represents her mom. It would be very difficult to sleep without them.

"Alright no problem, I will go there now. So on my way back I will get you guys what I mentioned earlier."

Ella smiles and writes. "Thanks a lot."

"Where would I find the diary and the necklace?"

She bows her head again and writes. "It is in the second room, in my drawer the first one. You would find a diary and a small pink ribbon box with my name initials on it. Please bring them for me."

"Alright I would go there soon, go back to your room and continue unpacking."

Ella nods her head in appreciation and heads back upstairs.

"I pity this young girl a lot. Why does these things keep happening to her? First she had to live without her parents, second she had to move to Burundi to hide. Now her guardian left her and she has lost her voice. Isn't this too much for her?" Lola asks with a burning red eye.

"I feel the same too, but all we can do is to support her and continue to make her happy. I pray she regains her voice as soon as possible."

"We all have things we are going through." Lola says and exhales deeply.

The statement sounded as if Lola was trying to drive at something or discuss something very personal. "What is that? You can always talk to me if you need someone to talk to." Malik assures.

Should she just tell him? Probably if she does, it would make her feel better. But it was too embarrassing to say, how would she tell a man of her age that she has been having extra marital affairs because her husband wasn't satisfying her sexually? Very absurd!!!!

"No it's nothing, I am just saying generally." She says and rolls her eyes in fear.

"Lola." Malik whispers.

"Huh?" She answers with fear.

Her attitude was giving already, it is very obvious she is trying her hardest to hide something. Right now she is very scared.

"Are you sure everything is okay with you?"

"Yes." Lola nods still afraid of the unknown. "I think I should get going now, it's getting late."

"Really?" Malik asks and looks at the time, It was just 3pm. Lola had volunteered to go do some shopping for him and the kids that day, not minding if it was late or not but why the sudden change? She suddenly wants to go home. "Alright, you are coming tomorrow right?"

"Ye-yes-I-I-would." Lola stutters.

Malik could see clearly that she was getting so uncomfortable due to some reasons best known to her. So it is best to let her go home and freshen up herself.

"Alright let me see you out then."

Both of them walks out of the house and Lola enters her car still acting strange and not biding goodbye to the kids or to Malik she just drove out like she was in a rush. For some reasons too, Malik chose not to utter anything. Maybe he had said something she doesn't like or she didn't just enjoy his company anymore.

Lola whines down her windows as soon as she got to the highways. She turns on Some cool calm music and takes very deep breaths to help her relax and calm down but it was not working. She picks up the bottle of water she had close to her and gulps it, but she still wasn't feeling better.

There was only way to make her feel better, and it was taking her anxiety disorder pills. She tries her best to avoid the pills but when matters come to the worse, she has to use it.

She takes one hand off the steering and dips it in the glove compartment and picks out a small bottle containing pills. Carefully, she parks the car and uses the pill as the doctor has asked her to always do.

Few minutes later, she felt very much better until her phone rings and it happens to be one of her boyfriends calling her. "Why is this idiot calling me? Haven't I warned him never to call me until I ask him to?" She asks no one in particular and answers the call. "Why are you calling me?" She asks annoyingly.

"Chill out babe." The caller whispers. "I only called you because we haven't spoke for days now, and I seriously miss you."

"I will call you when I can, please don't ever try this again. Don't call me until I do."

"I miss you baby, when are we seeing?"

"I will call you." She says and hangs up immediately.

Now her anxiety disorder went three paces up than before. She couldn't take another pill cause she just did. So she had to wait at the spot for a while and continue her journey she feels a little better.
