FIND ME VIVAIN

Malik went back to his room after Lola had drove out looking so uncomfortable. He sat at the edge of his bed thinking of what could have really made her leave in such manner. Did he say something very annoying to her? Or did she find out he was admiring her despite the fact that he was aware she was married?

He was deep in this thought when Ella walks in his room holding her jotter and pen without knocking. He could see that she had removed the rope attached to the jotter, he knew she wouldn't like it at all. At first, he wanted to scold her for entering the room without knocking but then he remembers that even if she had knocked, how was she going to identify herself? She can't speak at the moment.

"Hi dear." Malik says with a smile. "Do you need anything?"

Ella did not give any body gestures or try to write until she had her seat beside him, sitting at the edge of the bed very close to him, she then writes. "Why are you here alone?"

"Nothing actually, I just saw Lola off. So I came in to relax before setting out to help you pick what you want and later head to the mall."

She writes again. "Why did she leave just like that? Without even bidding anyone a goodbye."

"I don't know either, but she just suddenly changed, I don't know if she was feeling uncomfortable or I said something that she didn't like." Malik says in a very sad tone.

Ella could sense it in his voice that he was deeply worried about her. But what was going to happen now? Lola has a lot of secret she is hiding and if Malik happens to find out, he might hate her for the rest of his life. She writes again. "Did you try to ask her something personal?"

"Not at all, I only told her that she could always talk to me if she needs someone to talk to."

She sighs and writes. "You shouldn't worry about her then. She would be fine."

"I guess so." Malik says and sighs, he realizes Ella is alone and he hadn't heard anything from his baby boy Shamim. "What I of Shamim?"

Ella smiles and writes. "He is fast asleep, so I don't want to disturb him."

"Sleepy head." Malik whispers and smiles. "Why don't you go to bed too? I will use that opportunity to get the things I mentioned earlier."

She frowns a little and writes. "I am not feeling sleepy."

Malik could understand her, she didn't feel sleepy because she was not happy and had so many things in her head and mind. "I understand what you feel."

She smiles and writes again. "What do you know about what I feel?"

The question got him, he wasn't too sure of what to say. Should he tell her he already knows who she truly is? Or pretend not to know anything? He decides to just pretend. "I mean loosing your voice."

Ella smiles again and looks away for two seconds, then she writes. "I guess you already know who i am."

"What are you talking about?" He asks trying to pretend.

She continues writing. "Do not pretend, I know you already know about it. That is why you decided to take me in."

"Ella, I do not know the amount of pain you carry in your heart but please, do not think of anything for now. Just be happy so you can regain your voice. The doctor says you should see a therapist but I don't want you to see any. They might force you to tell them what they shouldn't know and it might be bad for you."

Ella writes again with her hands trembling. "I fought her the last time I saw her for not allowing me be part of the family dinner. Not knowing that was the last time I was going to see her, she was even pregnant. I don't know where they are buried."

Malik had no idea when tears started rolling down his cheek, he had not cried in years now. The last time he cried was the first day he set his eyes on Shamim. But this young girl's story really made him tear up. If an adult like him could tear up when listening to her story, what would the young girl who experienced all the tribulations go through. She was just too young for all these. He hugs her tightly and says "I will be your father as from now on, I promise not to ever leave you."

"Promises again???!!!!" She asks in her mind. "Vivian did the same, promising heavens and earth. But where is she now? Nowhere to be found." She wouldn't deny the fact that she felt some sort of comfort in his large arms but the promises didn't sit well with her.

The hug lasted a while, but when Malik finally draws apart from her, he looks at her and says "you are not alone anymore. Be free to tell me or ask me anything you want or need."

Ella nods with a big smile then writes. "I have a lot of things to tell you when I regain my voice but first find me Vivian. I have to listen to her mention all the reasons she left me, breaking all the promise she made to me."

"Alright, I would do that."

Ella looks at the wall clock and writes to Malik. "I think you should start going to where you want to go, it's already getting late. The keys to my place are on the table in the sitting room, please make sure Shamim isn't there when you want to give me the diary. I will go get some sleep too." She exits the room and walks straight to her new room.

Malik went out to do the things he had planned earlier. When he got to Ella's house, he didn't try to look for anything other then what she had requested. Thus he went into the second room and matched straight to the drawer, pulling out the first handle he saw the diary and pink ribbon box.

He didn't check the diary or bother to open the box, he drove to the mall to get the other things as planned and when he got home. The kids were already awake. He secret matches to Ella's room to give the items to her and she thanks him so much for helping her get the diary and ribbon box. As soon as she collects them she kept the in a her wardrobe. Somewhere far enough for Shamim not to reach. It would be very dangerous if he sees that and reads the content.

That night was a very lovely and lively one, they all enjoyed each of company's. And the sleep was a good one.

Before going to bed, Ella wrote the summary of all what had happened in the last two days in her diary. How Vivian left her and how Lola and Malik came to her rescue. Lastly, how she met Shamim. When she was done writing, she hides the diary again.

Malik went to bed thinking of Lola , she was the only thing that occupied his head all through.
