NOT STILL BETTER

Paul looks at his wife and smiles. "Yes, I think that is true, I totally agree. I will go freshen up now and come back later." He uses his full strength to stand and the tattoos and muscles of his daughter caught his attention. "My daughter, how come you have this much tats on your body? And why is your muscle a big as this? Are you planning to go into wrestling?" Paul asks his daughter.

"Father." Linda calls with tears rolling down her eyes. "I have this tats for a long time now, my muscle isn't a big deal anymore since I always gym."

"What? A girl shouldn't gym and have this amount of tats on her body. It doesn't look or appear responsible or even appealing to the eye." Paul whispers.

"Father!" Linda calls a with the tears still flowing down her cheeks.

"Why are you crying?" Paul asks and wipes his daughter's tears off her eyes. "Did you get punished at school for bullying your friends again? I have told you it to do that again, be very nice to your classmates and school mates at a whole."

"Honey, go upstairs." Jessie whispers to her husband. "Go and relax well."

"Tell Linda to stop crying." Paul whispers back to his wife and walks upstairs.

"I can't believe this is happening to my father." Linda says and sobs.

"Wipe those tears off." Jessie whispers.

"Mom, What do we do now?" Linda asks still sobbing.

"I said wipe those tears off now!" Jessie yells with all her strength and might.

Immediately, Linda eyes suddenly stops producing tears, she goes quiet and looks at her mom. "Why are you yelling?"

"Your tears are useless, what will your tears do? Can it solve anything? What is the essence of wasting those tears when they can't do anything?" Jessie asks with her voice trembling and a lot of pain.

Relating to what her mom had just said, Linda sits opposite her mom the same way she did earlier. "What do you think we should now?" She asks not sobbing or weeping any more.

"He needs treatment immediately, I will assign some specialist to take care of him, his disease seem to be a very severe one." Jessie whispers and stretches forth and hand. "Let me have the test results." Linda hands it to her and she reads the content. "Your father's condition is a very severe one, he has limited time to live."

"Oh my God!" Linda exclaims and covers her mouth with both hands shedding heavy tears. "Why is this happening to my father of all people?"

"I will try my best to make sure he lasts five years." Jessie whispers in tears too. "I will try my best to make sure he lives up to that date."

"Five years?" Linda asks and breaks down in tears more. "All of this happened because of you." She attacks.

"Me? What did I do? Did I give him Alzheimer?" Jessie asks surprisingly.

"It all happened because of the terrible things you did." Linda says and sobs. "If you hadn't done those things, he wouldn't have over worked himself and have this terrible disease. Now, look at him. He is so hopeless and even has limited time to live." She cries on.

Jessie can't find any words to say concerning her daughter's accusation. She is actually right, all of this mess happened because of her and her greed. "I am sorry." She whispers to her daughter. "I promise to make up for the terrible things I have done."

"Make up for the terrible things you have done?" Linda repeats again and scoffs. "How? You have ruined our lives already!" She says loudly. "Look at my father, you have practically killed him. Take a look at me too, my life is so meaningless at the moment." She stops and smiles. "Do you think I do smoke, drink, club and gym because I find fun in it? No." She shakes her head. "I do it to get comfort."

"I am sorry." Jessie whispers again.

"You can't atone for your sins in this world anymore. If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin, but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains."

"What is that supposed to mean Linda?" Jessie asks.

"Let Ella be!" She replies saying sternly.

Jessie laughs hysterically and stops after satisfying herself. "Ella can't and won't escape death. As far as I am alive, I will continue to look for her. Even if she is dead, I will dig up her grave and break her skeleton into pieces."

"Even after killing her parents and grandparents, you still don't feel better." Linda whispers. "Will killing Ella now make you feel any better?" She asks.

"Yes, only her death will ease my pain." Jessie sighs. "You know, I believe you don't know how it feels to get dumbed by the person you love so much, do you? I spent two years of my life with Peter, I was sincere and loyal. But at the end, he still dumped me for that wretched Alex."

"I am tired of listening to your ugly story." Linda whispers, stands and walks out.

Jessie holds back the tears in her eyes and picks up her phone to call the head doctor of the hospital she stole. "Hello, make sure my husband's current health condition is never known to anyone else or the public." She says and hangs up.

She stands and looks at her hands, she smiles and says. "Peter, it's time I send you off and let you go. It's time I set you free from my heart which holds many grudges." She sighs. "I hope you find peace with Alex wherever you are right now with your darling wife. Don't worry, I will send Ella to you soon, and bury her very close to you. I know she is alive, I will find her no matter what it takes and make sure I confirm her death with my very own eyes."
