REGRET BEING YOUR MOTHER

She can't dispute the fact that that day is a Monday morning, which is said to be the a all work day for working class people. Another is that she can't deny the fact that her mom is the CEO of a hospital and needs to do some checks and balances. Linda had never thought or expected that her mom would leave her father in his current health condition that early.

Linda looks around to look for her mom but when she couldn't find her, she stands and decides to check the bathroom, but still couldn't find her. "Where is she ?" She asked her father as she approaches him and sits next to him just like earlier.

"She went out very early this morning." Paul whispers as he still looks at his daughter.

"Went out?" She asks loudly. "What for?"

He shrugs his shoulders and says. "Only God knows."

"That woman is so unbelievable." Linda murmurs. "I wasn't even expecting her to do such."

"Really?" Paul asks and laughs. "Have you forgotten the type of person she is? No matter what happens, she will go to the hospital

to check how it is fairing."

"The hospital she stole!" Linda retorts sternly.

"You can say that again." He says with a soft laugh and sighs. "It's been ten years now, and we still have no news on Ella's well being."

"I don't think she is alive." Linda says sadly. "Would you have think she can survive being alone? I mean, if you knew Ella before this happened, you would be so sure that she can't survive." Linda says without doubt.

"Why do you say so?" Paul asks.

"She is a very naive little girl. She is just too easy going and simple. That is why I doubt if she can survive the tough times."

He nods his head gently. "But we can't be too sure, you know what can kill you can strengthen you and build you up."

Linda sighs heavily. "That's true, but I think Ella's case is different. This girl always cried heavily whenever I bullied her back then. Sometimes, she would just stay alone in class."

"Whether alive or dead, I pray she finds peace wherever she is." Paul whispers.

Linda phone rings loudly and it almost scare her but she controls herself and takes the phone form her pocket and when she checks who the caller is, it happens to be her mom. She looks at her dad and laughs. "It's your wife calling."

"She is the mother of my child not my wife." Paul retorts calmly.

She picks the call and puts the phone on loud speaker. "Hello."

"Hi Linda, I have been waiting out the gate for a while now, honking but the gatekeeper refused to open the gate. I wonder if he is sleeping, could you please open the gate for me?" Jessie pleads.

"Do I have a choice?" Linda says and hangs up.

Jessie exhales deeply at the attitude her daughter gave her. If Linda is given the opportunity, she can actually lock her mom out.

"What happened?" Paul asks as soon as his only family ended the call. "What did she say?"

"She wants me to open the gate for her." Linda replies and stands.

"What about the gate Keeper? Did you send him on an errand?"

"No I didn't." She shakes her head. "I dismissed him, and all of every worker in this house."

"What?" Paul asks in shock. "Why would you do that?"

"Right now, I think it's best we stay alone. I wouldn't want anyone to know about our personal lives anymore." Linda whispers with a smile. "I will be right back." She says and walks straight to the gate. She opens the gate wide open for her mom to drive in.

If there is anything Jessie can do so perfectly, it will be driving. She drove in and parked well, then alighted for from the car like a queen she has only dreamed of being. "Where is the gatekeeper?" She asks her daughter.

"I dismissed him from work?" She replies bluntly.

"You did what?" Jessie asks again. "Without my consent?"

"I didn't dismiss only him, I dismissed all the workers in the house. I don't think we need them anymore." Linda says sternly.

"Do not get on my nerves." Jessie warns. "Don't give any orders under my property without my consent anymore, is that clear?"

Linda didn't give any replies, instead she walks out on her mom and matches straight to her father.

Looking at her only child walk out in her in that manner, Jessie hopes to amend the relationship between them but Linda won't give her a chance. Feeling rejected, she locks the gate herself and walks into her mansion, straight up to her room and she sees her husband and daughter sitting next to each other. "Hello." She greets but there is no reply. "Why are you both not answering me?"

"Why on earth will you leave father all by himself and go out that early?" Linda faces her mother and asks in rage.

Linda exhales deeply. "I had a lot of business to take care of." She whispers.

"You are just so obsessed with this hospital you stole!" Linda says very loudly, pouring out her emotions.

"Shut that trap of yours now!" Jessie cautions already offended.

"Or what?" Linda stands and faces her mom directly. "What will you do."

Jessie looks at her daughter's physique, it looks a lot like that of a man. The muscles and tats were just so annoying to her. "I wish i wasn't your mother." She murmurs looking at her daughter annoyingly.

"Really?" Linda asks and scoffs immediately. "Do you think I am happy being connected and related to you? The fact that I am born of a terrible and wicked woman like you is so irritating!" She says and tears drop off her eyes. "But what can I do? It's my cross and I have to carry it. Just look at how much you have ruined us."

"Stop it Linda." Paul whispers finally after purposely leaving his daughter to talk some senses to his wife.
