WHAT IF REVENGE IS YOUR FATE?

He looks at his sister and laughs. "Shy? You shouldn't be shy." Shamim whispers.

"You know it just looks somehow that I am dating my childhood friend." Ella whispers shyly again.

"It doesn't matter actually, in as much as he really loves you and he is showing it."

"So you think Abdullah really loves me right?" She asks doubting.

"Yes." Shamim nods. "I mean which guy can use his entire savings to get a lady a new car as he birthday gift because she admired it once in his presence?"

"Is that a question or a statement?" Ella asks with a frown.

He chuckles a little and says "I don't know, maybe both of them."

Miss Smith exhales deeply. "Now that you have known who I truly am, what do you think I should do? Should I just embrace peace, love and happiness which I have found here now? Or still seek revenge and go back to Nigeria?"

"You would do both of them Ella." Shamim whispers and holds his sister's hands. "At least, I believe you deserve to know the reason your parents and grandparents were killed."

"It's not going to be an easy one, I am not even sure of who killed them. But my mind says it was Paul who did that, I mean his wife who took over my father's hospital has no issue with my parents at all."

"You never can be so sure Ella, until you uncover the truth yourself." He whispers. "You have so many unanswered questions and the only thing that can answer it is NIGERIA."

"That country is my fatherland, but that was where my life was ruined by some heartless people, they killed my mom who was even pregnant then." Ella says with a lot of pains.

"She was pregnant when that happened?"

"Yes." She nods. "My mom had always tried to get pregnant again after she had me but all to no avail, when she finally got pregnant and we were all happy about that, some people did nothing but to kill her."

"I am so sorry about that Ella, you have gone through a lot and you are still this strong. I can't even imagine all these things happening to me." Shamim whispers trying to comfort his sister but he observes her face, most especially her eyes. It had no tears in it, even after she is talking about something with this much pain, there is still no tears in her eyes. "Ella, may I ask you a question?"

"Sure." She replies with a nod.

"Ever since I met you, I have never seen you shed tears whatsoever. Even now, when you are talking about your past, you are still not crying."

Ella smiles and says. "I have no more tears left to cry."

"What?" Shamim asks again.

"My childhood trauma took away my tears and gave me nothing g but pains and bitterness. Sometimes, I wish and hope that I could really just cry again. Maybe, it will make me feel better but it isn't working out, it's as if that organ of me that produces the tears died off."

"The only thing that can make you feel better is to know who did this and why they did, look for tangible evidence against them and make them face the law."

"The law?" Ella asks and scoffs with her eyes burning red. "What law? You mean the useless law that we all follow in this world? The law that couldn't even look for me properly and protect me? The law that couldn't conduct a proper investigation and find out those who did those terrible things to my parents and why they did? The law is so useless, and it won't work for me in this aspect."

"So what do you plan on doing?" Shamim asks.

"Instead of them being punished by the law, I'd rather let them be and allow God's wrath on them."

"What if you are God's wrath them? What if you are God's worst punishment for them Ella? Have you tried considering that?" He asks again.

Ella rolls her eye balls as she finds sense in what Shamim had just said. "Could that possibly be so?"

"What if revenge is your fate?" He asks again.

"Shamim, do you really think so?" Ella asks too.

"If it is your fate, then there is nothing you can do about it."

She swallows the spit stuck in her throat and whispers. "I hope that isn't my fate, if my fate is revenge then I won't be able to live a normal life, and I will loose some of my people too."

"That won't happen in as much as you do what you are doing well without allowing your emotions get in the way." He whispers and release her hands. "I have had a thought about it, me and Cassandra can't work."

Ella's eyes opens wide on hearing what her brother just said. "Are you for real?"

"Yes." Shamim replies with a smile. "She doesn't love me, she is just using me."

"It took you this long to realize that?"

"Yes, because I was deeply in love with her, so I kept on doing all."

"Finally!" She exclaims with some smiles. "I am sure our parents will be so happy to hear this."

"But how come you all don't like her? Is it a planned work or something?"

"It isn't Shamim, every normal person will hate an uncultured and spoilt brat."

"Whatever." Shamim whispers and smiles. "I bless the day you walked into this house."

"I am so happy to have you as my brother." Ella says with a smile. "I have always craved for an older or younger sibling, and I am so happy God gave me you, Kim and Kylie."

"We are so blessed to have you too."

"So have you ended things with Cassandra?" Ella asks.

"I already did that this afternoon." Shamim says bluntly.

"That fast?!" Ella asks loudly again.

"Yes, and it made me realize that she didn't even love me. After texting her the break up text message, she just replied me with okay. Like she is prepared for it or she isn't even really in love with me."
