NOTHING TO HIDE

Abdullah sits on the bed going through Ella's diary. He giggles anytime he comes across something funny. "Ella is a funny girl, she really does keep record of what happens everyday, even though it's just two lines." He whispers to himself. He hears a knock on the door. "Who is that?"

"It's me Darifa." She answers loudly from outside.

Abdullah carelessly drops the diary on the bed and says, "come in."

Darifa walks in and slumps on the bed laying her back and facing the ceiling. "It's been a long day."

"It surely has." Abdullah agrees with a nod. "But I am still the thankful that everything is fine now."

Darifa turns her head and her eyes come in contact with the diary which Abduallh had dropped carelessly earlier. "What is this?" She asks and sits up. "Who owns this?"

"Actually...." Abdullah says dragging his last word realizing he his about to put himself in deep trouble.

"Abduallh?" She calls suspiciously and holds the diary placing it gently on her laps. "What is this? You never told me you had a diary."

"It's not mine." He whispers.

"Then it's for who?" Darifa asks again but answering the question herself. "Ella?"

Abdullah stands and exhales deeply putting his head down for a while, then he raises it and says, "I can't continue to hide this from you any more. Open the diary and read it."

"What is In it? Tell me, what content does it hold?" She asks opening her eyes wide.

Abdullah ears another knock on the door. "Who is there?"

"It is I, Asma." she announces from outside.

"Come in!" Abduallh says almost whispering and sits close to Darifa.

"Why do you both look tensed?" She asks as she walks in.

"There is something me and Ella have been hiding from you right from the onset, I think it's time for you both to know."

"Is it something scary or terrible?" Asma asks again.

"It can appear that way." He replies shrugging his shoulders. "But please, try to consider the fact that she did what she felt is best for all of us."

"You are making me scared." Darifa whispers.

"You hid something from us? Why is that?" Asma asks still.

"Just read the diary, I will be waiting outside for the both of you." He says and walks out.

"What do you think this diary might be all about?" Asma asks Darifa who didn't give any replies but just opens the diary and starts reading. She clearly gets the message, Darifa is still mad at her and doesn't want to talk to her. So she keeps quiet and starts reading the diary too.
