NO ONE

Juvenal walks in the ward and is careful enough not to make her steps wake the sleeping beauty right in front of her. "Wow! She is so beautiful!" She exclaims quietly and moves very close to the bed, standing by her head. "How come she still maintains such beauty even when asleep?" She asks herself still staring at her but quickly moves away from her when she hears the door open.

"Why aren't you sitting?" Malik asks as he walks in with his son.

"Nothing sir, I was just waiting for you both to come in." She replies still sounding very shy.

"Please do me a Favour of sitting and dropping that heavy looking plastic bag." Malik whispers pointing to the only couch in the ward and as soon as she obeys, he faces his son. "You need to learn how to be a gentle man Shamim, how can you allow a lady carry this heavy plastic bag?"

Shamim scratches the back of his head gently because he was embarrassed. "I will put that in mind sir."

"Juvenal, I have to be on my way now." Says Malik.

"Alright sir, it was nice meeting you in person sir."

"If you wouldn't mind, I will like to invite you over to our house for dinner. See it as my gift in return for your visit and the fruits you bought."

"That will be so nice if you sir." Juvenal says with smiles.

He turns to his son. "We'll be back in some hours time, call me if anything comes up."

"Yes dad." Shamim says as watches his father until he is finally out of sight in great admiration, he faces Ella and smiles.

"She is so beautiful." Juvenal whispers trying not to wake her.

"Just as my mom." He replies still looking at his sister.

"I think I should start going now."

Shamim faces Juvenal and asks. "Why? Aren't you going to hold on a bit and probably have a chat with my sister?"

"You want your sister to see me?"

"Of course, what's the essence of coming here if she doesn't see you?" Shamim asks too.

"It doesn't really matter, as far as I have been here and already saw how she is fairing."

"Well, I insist." Shamim says bluntly and joins her on the couch. "She would wake anytime soon."

"Okay." Juvenal nods accepting defeat already.

Both of them sit side by side but have their eyes fixed on the sick bed or Ella. "You have any siblings?" Shamim asks almost whispering.

"No." She shakes here head. "I have no one, no siblings, no parents, no family, no friends."

Shamim gently turns his head to face her and at that moment they locked eyes. "What do you mean by that? You have no one?"

"Mmm." She murmurs with a very bitter smile.

"But why haven't you mentioned something of such before to me? I have known you for good eighteen months now and you have never mentioned it to me before!" He nags loudly sounding very pained and offended.

"I am sorry about that, but you didn't seem to care." She whispers.

Shamim gently rests his back on the couch. "Come to think of it, it is true, I never cared about those who loves me. I was only conscious of myself alone." He says to one in particular.

"I didn't mean it that way Shamim, don't get me wrong. But I don't just really like disturbing people with my own personal burdens."

"Why?"

"I feel everyone is going through a lot already, disturbing people with my personal problems will be nothing but unfair."

"I might haven't cared before." He faces Juvenal again. "But I want to start caring about it now."
