DIE WITH QUESTIONS?

Ella collects her diary with her mouth open wide in surprise, she isn't even sure of what to say, whether to just keep mute or ask questions. But if Asma is handing it to her, it means she must have read the content. "Did you by any chance read the content?" She finally asks but with her head down.

"Hmm." Asma mutters and Ella looks up. "Yes, I read it with Darifa."

"Really?"

"Yes." She nods. "We are now aware of all the things you have been hiding and facing all by yourself."

Miss Smith swallows the spit in her throat. "I am sorry for hiding all of it from you guys, I know that was very wrong. But try to understand that was the only conclusion I could come to."

"It's fine, we understand too." Asma says with smiles.

"But please, don't hide anything from us anymore. Let's all be real friends now, always standing by ourselves and have each other's back." Ella nods in agreement with smiles. "Once you return home, let's plan on how to know why your entire family died ten years ago."

"I don't want to." Ella gently rejects. "I wish to forget all about Nigeria and live a nice life here in Burundi."

"And die with all your questions?" Asma asks.

"But the life here in Burundi will be far better than that of Nigeria. How do you think people will welcome me? 'Ella Smith who we had think died is alive and was living in hiding for ten years' isn't that what they will all say? Afterwards, reporters will start digging into everything that had happened to me both in Nigeria and here. What if the issue with Jessica and her mom gets out?" She asks her friend.

"We can always protect what has happened here, don't worry."

Ella sighs deeply. "I won't lie to you but it's a very difficult choice to make. I am so scared of an anonymous person that I had to run away and live here in hiding."

Asma bends towards her friend. "That is why you must know why your family was eliminated and those who did it too." She rises gently to her normal position.

"You know, Jessica made me realize something."

"What is that?"

"Jessica was planning on taking revenge for her mom even after she knew that she was very wrong." She pauses and continues. "Children will always be on their parents side no matter what happens. Look at me, I have no slightest idea of who killed my parents and why they were killed." She looks at Asma straight in the eye. "What if they were bad and terrible people?"

"We should at least find out about that first, isn't it?" She asks. "I know it's very difficult for you to decide, but just think about it." Abdullah knocks and walk in.

"Hi baby girl." Abdullah greets with a smile.

Ella smiles back and opens her arms. "Come here."

Without any utterances, Abdullah embraces her. "I miss you a lot."

"I miss you too." Miss Smith mutters and raises her brows at Asma.

"What is it?" She asks whispering.

"Get out."

"Oh! Okay!" Asma exclaims quietly and rushes out, she places her ears firmly on the door.

"What are you doing?" Darifa asks as she approaches the door too.

"Hush!" Asma cautions placing her index finger on her lips. "Keep quiet and come here." She whispers.

Darifa sneakingly joins and friend and places her ear too on the door. "What is going on in there?"

"Abdullah and Ella are inside all alone, Ella clearly asked me to leave the room for them."

"So, there is a possibility they are doing something in-" the door opens widely and it stops Darifa from talking.

"What are you doing?" Abdullah asks confused as he sees his friends bent towards the door as if they wanted to eavesdrop. The girls gently rises and clears their throat loudly. "Didn't you both hear me? What are you doing here?" He asks again.

"What were the both of you doing inside too?" Asma asks firing back.

Abdullah finds the question so silly enough that he wants to give Asma a knock on the head but quickly withdraws his hand. "You are both silly." He insults and brushes the both of them aside with his hands and walks out.

"Why is he acting all matured now?" Asma asks and folds her arms watching Abdullah leave.

"Maybe he is now matured." Darifa replies with smiles and hits her friend playfully telling her to cheer up. "It's so good to have you back."

"Have me back? Did I go somewhere before?"

"You know, before you were acting so strange, but now, I think you are back to your normal self."

"I am so sorry for acting that way." Asma apologizes with a lot of sincerity.
