MIGHTY QUESTIONS

Miss quickly reaches out for her cell phone. "Something is off somewhere," she whispers.

"What are your suspicions?" Abdullah asks and rests his elbows on his lap.

"Linda and her father checked out of the hotel right?" Ella asks ignoring her boyfriend's question.

"Sure." Darifa nods. "I am sure, I saw them with my two eyes."

"But we didn't see them arrive in Nigeria, did we?" Asma asks more stating her doubts.

Ella raises her brows and smiles. "Something is surely wrong."

"What are you talking about Ella?" Abdullah asks calmly.

"Hold on." she dials a number on her phone. "Hello, is this Mr. James?"

"Yes, I am. Who am I speaking with and how can I help you?"

"This is Ella Smith," she says with a lot of confidence.

"Oh! So sorry ma'am. Please pardon my manners. How can I help you ma?"

"When was the last time Mr. Paul came to work?"

"He has stopped coming to work for a while now, he didn't even resign properly." He pauses and starts whispering. "Rumours have it that he is suffering from an ailment."

"Is that all you know about him?" Ella asks again.

"I also heard he traveled to India with his daughter."

Miss Smith's eyes widens the moment she heard 'travel' "so, has he returned?"

"I am not too sure, but I don't think he has returned."

"Alright, thanks a lot. " Miss Smith says and ends the call.

"Something isn't off," Darifa whispers wearing the most confused look ever. "Something is missing."

"How come he stopped working without resigning properly?" Asma asks no one in particular.

"probably because his wife was the CEO then," Shamim suggests.

"From what I heard, his health condition wasn't made public," Ella whispers.

Datifa rubs her jaws gently and asks. "So, Linda and her father did leave this country for India? And return, right?"

"But where is Linda and her father right now?" Ella asks looking at her teammates consecutively.

"I am a hundred and one percent sure that they are here in Nigeria," Abdullah whispers sounding a bit disturbed.

"Could it be that they are in hiding after the bully case?" Darifa asks.

"I doubt that, after the entire rumor and speculations disappeared In just a minute, they are expected to make public appearances discarding and blatantly denying all accusations," Ella says and repositions herself.

"Let's leave that aside, for now, we should just think of a way to look for them," Darifa says brushing off the talk. She faces Ella and asks again. "Why did you ask for the voice record?"

"I intend on using it as a card, but now I think it will be used differently."

"How do you intend on doing that?" Asma asks with a straight face.

"Shamim, we need your source again."

"That good for nothing loud mouth betrayed us for only God knows how much." Shamim retorts calmly.

"We need him again, this time he is going to do something that will shake the world." She says and smirks.

"Ella, the voice record?" Shamim asks almost quietly.

"Yes." Miss nods gently. "I will expose it to the world."

"That is a very risky thing to do, I am sure he won't want to do that," Darifa whispers.

"No one noticed the lady who was standing right behind Mrs. Jessie all through?" Asma asks out of the bus too.

All together that evening, two different mighty questions were asked out of the bus. Both questions, giving Ella more than enough reason to play her card the way she wants to play it.

"I did notice she was in the meeting room all through." She stops and continues. "What about her?"

"I heard Jessie call her Cecelia." She replies saying it word after word.

"Do you suggest she is Ella's sister?" Abdullah asks.

"I am not too sure, but I did hear Jessie call her Cecelia and she replied with 'yes ma'am' that's all I know."

"It might as well be a coincidence." Shamim shrugs his shoulders.

"Coincidence you say?!" Miss Smith asks and scoffs. "This is no coincidence."

"She was in the meeting room all through, so you think Mrs. Jessie planned on handing the hospital over to her?" Asks Darifa.

"It's clear now." Miss Smith murmurs. "Linda is hiding, her mom can't manage to take the risk of putting her daughters out at the same time. So Cecelia had to live in hiding while Linda was known-"

"And now that Cecelia is back, Linda has to live in hiding." Shamim says understanding the logic."

"That woman is something else." Abdullah says with a tone if fright in his voice.

"I will play my card differently." Miss Smith says and the tension...
