DID I SAY TOO MUCH?

"Aren't you going to say anything?" Abdullah asks as he ignites the car.

"Please take me away from this place." Ella whispers. "I might pass out any time from now."

"Are you okay?" Shamim asks from behind.

"I just feel a bit naseous." She exhales sharply and whispers again. "Please start driving.

"Okay." He starts driving.

"Can you talk now?" Darifa asks after few seconds.

"That woman is evil, I can't believe she has that much confidence even after that."

"What exactly did she do or say?" Darifa asks again.

. "She wants me to appoint Cecelia has the managing director."

"What?" They ask loudly with their mouth open.

"She is so crazy." Ella curses beneath her breath.

"So what was your reply?" Abdallah asks with his eyes focused on the road.

"I blatantly refused and she threatened me."

"With what?" Asma asks.

"How?" Abdullah asks too.

"Remeber Vivian's alleged husband? The one I said is most likely to be the one who worked for Jessie and killed my family?"

"Of course we do." Asma replies speaking for everyone."

"He is back here, I guess he wants to start working for her again."

"That man came back to Nigeria?" Darifa asks again as if she had not heard what she said.

"Yes." Ella nods. "She said 'I am sure you know by now that I killed your parents and grandparents, but I didn't do that alone, she also mentioned that she paid Andrew to help her with the great deal' but I didn't budge."

"You remember all she said word for word?" Asma asks with a trembling voice. She is holding a lot of tears back in her eyes. Ella has indeed gone through more than a lot.

"What is wrong with you? You shouldn't do this, if you are like this, how do you expect that her to be?" Shamim whispers to Amsa trying to console her.

Even though her brother was whispering, she still heard him clearly. She smiles and says, "Don't worry, I will make sure Jessie pays dearly for all of our tears, pains, efforts and time."

"It must have been hard for you to see that man close to Jessie." Darifa whispers.

"It was indeed, but I just had to save myself."

"Save yourself?"

"Yes." Miss Smith nods. "I told Jessie the whole truth, how Andrew had seen me and turned a blind eye, how he fled with the woman who helped me out of the country."

"That was a very bad thing to do Ella, you practically sold them out." Abdullah says in a uncomfortable way.

Ella keeps mute, not making any utterances. She knows if any comes out of her mouth at that moment, she might have a real fight with her boyfriend.

Miss Smith plans on walking straight to the room and avoid any conversations with anyone. She walks past everyone and charges towards the room when Abdullah holds her.

"Why aren't you saying anything to what I said earlier in the car? Do you really think what you said there was the only way to turn down the offer?"

"Just shut up!" she yells and swiftly releases herself from his tight grip. "Why are you all not trying to be considerate? Do you think it is easy for me?"

"Try considering other people too!" Abdullah yells back. "Jessie or whatever you call her might try to harm Miss Vivian and her husband."

"Andrew should have considered me when he took money and killed my entire family, they should have condsidered me when they fled and left me all alone in Burundi. That should have considered me when they decided to come back to Nigeria and take sides with Jessie." she scoffs. "Or why do you suppose they are here?"

"This man has children." Abdallah persists.

"I was just little when they took everything away from me too, my family, house, happiness and all." she raises her voice a bit. "So please, please and please!" she pauses and continues with her voice a bit low. "If you are not me or in my shoes, never tell me how to feel." she walks away.

"Did I say too much?" He asks no one in particular.

"I am not sure." Asma replies stuttering.

"Yes." Shamim nods. "You both actually said too much."

"Ella is right." Darifa whispers. "She wasn't considered by anyone before they all did her dirty, I don't think she should consider anyone now. None of us has the energy she has."

"Energy?" Asks Asma.

"After all she went through, she is still standing." Darifa says with a soft smile.
