CHAPTER SIX: Living in San Antonio

A.N: Sorry for late update, I am busy with exams right now so I

Michelle POV

'Dad, no need to ride me to school, I would take the bus' I complained for the nth time this month. Dad has been more over protective of me since we moved to the city and Ryan supports it and Mimi's the only one that wants me to socialize.

'Just get in, it's for your own good, the city is a dangerous place' Dad said as usual. Dad rode Ryan and I to school, to make it worst my school is a public school and all eyes are on me. This make it obvious that I'm new, it made it hard to make true friends, the only type of friends that are available are those that are curious about your background. It's been a month since we moved here, I transferred to Silver Height Elementary School and I'm still called ''new girl".

'Today, we are going through the past questions for math' Mr. Ben, our homeroom teacher said.

'So who's going to solve question 12?' Mr. Ben asked. Nobody volunteered so he asked Anny, the most famous girl in school to solve it but she couldn't and she still proudly flipped her hair.

'What topic is the question derived from?' he asked again and this time a girl raised her hand 'Answer it'

'Battle if the unknown' she said and everyone broke into laughter, Mr. Ben was dumbfounded.

'Mr. Ben, it's because Cassie is a gamer' Art said

'Yes sir, there is a game called battle of the unknown where you find x and y' Charlie said in between his laughter.

'Quiet!' Mr. Ben shouted in frustration and the whole class became silent.

'You kids, will be writing your entrance exam into middle school soon and you don't know your math, how're you going to pass?' Mr. Ben said more upset than before. I didn't know the answer to the question since math was my worst subject but it was obviously Algebra.

'Open your textbook to chapter six; Algebra' he ordered then he started explaining from the tok but as soon as the bell rang all the students left the class before Mr. Ben could finish packing his stuff.

I went to the cafeteria for lunch and sat at the end of a table, I didn't like hanging out with the city girls because they're full of themselves and also see me as a country bumpkin. I ate my food in my usual silent until Charlie joined me, yes, the same Charlie from my class that tried explaining "the Battle of unknown".

'Hey, new girl' Charlie called for my attention as he sat opposite me

'Can you guys stop calling me new girl' I said a little annoyed.

'Okay...so what should I call you then?' Charlie asked,

Does really not know my name

'Michelle' I said focusing back on my meal

'Why do you eat alone? Why don't you join the girls group over there' Charlie suggested pointing at a table full of girls.

'I feel comfortable around them and they aren't the kind of girls I hang out with' I said remembering how they use their words to hurt other that aren't in their social group and I really wish Isabella was here to shun them like she did in Camp.

'Are you an introvert?' he asked, wow this guy is such a talkative

'No, I'm an extrovert but since I moved here I've been socializing less' I explained

'Why don't you join my friends over there, you might find something in common there' he suggested pointing to a table with three boys at the corner.

'What about tomorrow?' I asked thinking he would give up on getting me friends.

'Ok, what if I introduce you to them so it will easy to blend in tomorrow' He suggested again.

This guy don't seem to give up

'Okay, let's go' I finally agreed. Since I was done eating I didn't bother to take anything with me. We went over to the table

'Hey guys, this is Michelle, don't make a mistake and call her new girl or you are in for it' He joke

'Hey Michelle, I'm Art' a brown skin boy introduced him self first he seemed like a cheerful person.

'This is Carl and Jeff' Charlie said pointing at a red headed and Blondie respectively

'Can you stop stuffing your face in her presence' Art said spanking Jeff on his heard, I smiled seeing Jeff reaction on his face they almost started chasing other, guys really mature slower compared to girls.

'Do you have a hobby, Michelle' Art asked putting a stress on my name

'Yeah, watching TV' I said with a little smile

'Then you have the same hobby with Jeff' Carl said patting Jeff shoulder. Jeff seems to be a why type,

'She would be eating with us tomorrow' Charlie said he seemed so much happy that he got me friend

'Can I go now?' I asked and Charlie nodded in response.

From then I started hanging out with Charlie and his friends, I got to say having guys around me is a thousand times better to have girls by my side. I and Charlie got close and I just noticed he seats heh nd me and he has a habit of hitting his pen in the desk whenever he is bored.

Of course I got stares from other girls and the gossip about the new girl got four boys around her was so infuriating. Charlie, Carl and Art are the ones that tried to comfort me but the day Jeff stood up for me when the girls behind him spoke I'll of me. I was so surprised, he needed a gift, what I gave him? I gave a kiss his nose and he turned red we all laughed at his reaction. Charlie and Carl didn't stop persuading for a kiss

'If you act matured you get one' Art said pulling both of them by their hair and taking them to the class. Shy Jeff and I followed after them laughing. We walk home together, they always offer to walk me home but I had to turn down because I have meet my brother in his school we go home together.

'Michelle!' a voice called as I was about to leave the school premises, I turned back just to see to it Charlie

'Charlie?' I said in almost surprise, I thought the wanted to go to the arcades.

'Let's go home together' He said putting his arm over my shoulder, he is sure taller than me and I didn't mind his gesture

'Where do you live?' I asked

'Just a bit far from school' he replied

'I'm taking the bus' I informed him

'Why would take the bus when you aren't going home alone, let's walk home, I hope it's not far  for you?' he asked

'I'm a country girl remember?' I said and he ruffled my hair.

'Aren't you going home with your brother today' he asked finally remembering that to ask why I wanted to take a bus instead of meeting my brother

'He's hanging out with his new friends and he doesn't want them to see me'

'Such an overprotective brother'he said and we laugh.

Everything was going well until....
