Michelle POV
"Why is so bright", I thought as I roll over on my bed trying to move to part of the bed that less bright but I aimlessly failed. I vividly remember I closed my curtains before sleeping the previous night. I opened my eyes and I was facing my curtains finding it close but the sunlight was emitting from through the curtains making it translucent.
'Is it already time to wake up' I mutter to myself smiled goofly as I lazily went into the bathroom to get ready for the day. I'm so happy it's a Saturday, every Saturday I sleep in that's how I differentiate between weekdays and weekends. This have been my routine for a year now, yes, it's been a year since mom left. We still feel the void but we ignore it. I wonder what long trip she went in that takes her a year to get back, move that aside no full mood on a Saturday.
I look up a the clock hanging over my wall and it says...12 noon, what? It isn't that late, why do I need wake up early when it's only me and Ryan at home?
I picked up my phone to chat up Charlie and the gang on our group chat
Chelly: hey guys, what's up this Saturday?
Charlie: we are at Arcade
Chelly: Arcade? On the way? Or already there?
Art: already there
Carl: we've been here for an hour
Chelly: what? An hour? Without me? I see you guys don't like hanging out with me
Art: we do! I told them not to leave you out but they were all over giving you some privacy to do some girl stuff like shopping or sth
Chelly: shopping? You know I barely go to the mall and if I ever want to go I would drag guys along, stop gender discrimination
Charlie: I would text you the address
Chelly: ok, I would get breakfast and hurry over there
Charlie: you just woke up?
Chelly: yep, duh
Carl: I wish I could be like u but my mom's screams at me is to eat piercing, geez
Art: last time I woke up that late, I saw my mom standing over me with a wooden cooking spoon abt to strike at me, I doubt I would try that again.
Chelly: doubt my dad would allow me to but I'm alone so I'm allowed to sleep in as I want, Ryan doesn't disturb me. Jeff, stop ghost reading
Jeff: hi
Carl: so shy, he's turning red right now.
Charlie: he really is
Jeff: stop it
Art: you heard the guy, stop it you embarrassing him.
Chelly: Jeff, how are you? Don't mind this bunch of hooligans who can't give a proper greeting
Chelly: well guys my tummy is rumbling, gotta go
I locked my phone even though it kept beeping I needed to feed. I headed to hallway,
'Ryan! What's for breakfast' I shouted as I reached the sitting room. 'Now you decided to wake up asking for breakfast, good morning princess, sorry you got to wait till lunch' a familiar voice sad, it turned out to be dad.
Like what the hell his he doing here?
'Dad, what are you doing here?' I asked surprised he always been busy on Saturday since that happened.
'Using my day off' he answered picking up the remote to change the TV channel to some soap drama.
'Chelly, your food is in the fridge, just microwave it' Ryan said coming out of the kitchen with a napkin in his hand like he just did the dishes.
'Ryan, could you help me do it' I pouted
'Sure' Ryan said and went back inside the kitchen
'Ryan, you really spoilt your baby sister, see her acting all spoilt' Dad said to Ryan who is the kitchen while I spouted at him.
'Ryan, get out of there, Chelly go wait in the kitchen for your food to be microwaved' dad ordered and I reluctantly wen to the kitchen.
'But dad she so cute' Ryan joked as he went to join my dad to watch the TV
Soon my meal was done and I ate as fast as I could to meet up with the guys.
'Why are you rushing your food?' dad asked
'I'm going outside' I stated with food in my mouth
'Like out-out, on a date with who's I gave my dad a strange look
'It's going to take a long time for you to start worrying about that, you have a daughter that doesn't easily have crushes even though she hangs out with a whole group of boys' Ryan said with a mock laugh and I glared at him.
'I'm going to meet Charlie and the gang somewhere' I said making sure I don't say out where I'm going because they might come find me there.
'Bye, Dad, Ryan' I said as I fasten my steps towards the door.
'Come back here, young lady you aren't going out today, send them a message, this the only time I get to stay home but you are going to waste it on your friends who you see everyday, back in my days, we wake up early on Saturday and do our chores....' dad lost me there, I guess he is right out be going out with my friends part.
"Here we go, do all parents do this"
This is where he talk about his childhood of doing chores and blah, blah, blah, I don't care. After wasting an hour talking about himself and me feeling disappointed and missing out on the fun, he decided to take us out.
We walked through the neighborhood and stopped by a pet store.
'Are we getting a pet' I asked surprised
Mum promised to get me a pet when I was old enough whatever, it doesn't matter if dad's buying it for me.
We picked a puppy as our family pet after me and Ryan bickering about having a kitty or a pup. We got home got to meet something that surprising shocked only me, a nanny?
