Construction Begins And A New Weapon

Five days have passed and the workers of the Construction Department are very happy. They have attended seminars to enhance their skill and during this training, they are still paid.

Andrew believes that the knowledge these workers have are already enough to begin their first project, the construction of the city wall. He has already asked the approval of the City Lord.

The workers have started digging out for the foundation of the wall. Others have also brought the materials needed. The cement, the bricks, and the steel can be found lying around the city. It is their first time to see a construction to be reinforced by steel.

While this is all happening, Arthur is in the courtyard while topless and sweating. He has been following the training manual he has first received from the lottery. As the system said, this is not like the training for swordsmen that is difficult to follow. This training takes in mind that the person is an ordinary human with no athletic skill. Thus, the improvement can be made by changing one's diet and having a specialized daily routine.

Arthur can already feel the changes in his body after following the manual for a week. As long as he continues to follow this daily, it is still possible for him to train in swordsmanship. The training now is only to improve and strengthen his body and sense.

Soon, a sudden sound from the system is heard.

[Main Mission: Protect the City I]

Looking at the system's update, it will only take around a month to complete this mission. Everything is going according to his plan.

After finishing the training for today, Arthur returns to the castle and takes a bath. This has already become his new habit and routine. His body, despite not being as burly as other swordsmen, has already started to form muscles. He is no longer a skinny young man.

Arthur enters his office to look at his schedule. If he remembers it correctly, today is the day that he wants to visit a blacksmith in town. He wants to hire him as the city's blacksmith and help him recreate the knowledge he gets from the books.

Wearing his clean and luxurious looking robe, he moves toward the city in a carriage. He is finally able to buy a carriage of his own and has hired a driver for it. This will help him move around the city when needed.

Soon, the carriage has reached a small blacksmith shop and as soon as Arthur has entered, the pungent smell of hot iron attacks him, making him cough and cover his nose.

"What do you want?" A grumpy voice can be heard and Arthur looks around for the source. "Down here, you spoiled and rude kid."

Looking down, Arthur sees a really short but old man. His hair and beard have almost turned all white.

"My name is Arthur and I am the City Lord. I just want to discuss a deal with you as I heard you are the best blacksmith in the city." Arthur smiles as he doesn't know how to handle this grumpy old man.

The old man looks at him with suspicion. "My name is Jose. What does the young lord want?"

"I want you to be the city's blacksmith." Arthur quickly replies.

Jose's face turns into a frown. "So you want me to give up on my shop and work for you?"

Arthur immediately waves both of his hand. "No, no. You must have misunderstood me. I just want high priority for orders coming from the city and I will pay you one gold monthly for this right. This excludes the fee you will require for the items I want you to create.

Hearing Arthur's explanation, Jose believes that this is not a bad deal and one gold coin is already a lot for him and he only earns around twenty five silver coins monthly.

"That can be easily done. However, I believe that you didn't come here just to tell me that. Do you already have what you want me to create?" Jose isn't enthusiastic to do his order as he only see Arthur as a rich and spoiled young man. Who knows what he wants Jose to create?

"I want you to create these items that I have made. I have the blueprints for it and some instructions to help you create them." Jose receives more than thirty papers or blueprints with exact measurements.

"What is this?" This is the first time that Jose has received a unique deal and with his many years of experience, this is the first time that he has saw these items. He can also clearly see that the reason these items have different blueprint is that Arthur does not want him to know what he is trying to build.

"Are you curious?" Arthur smiles as he can see the shock on Jose's face.

"Of course, this is the first time I have seen weird blueprints like this. What are you trying to build?" Jose's eyes clearly reveal curiosity to these blueprints.

"If you agree with the deal, you will clearly know what this is." Arthur is happy as it seems like he will make this deal successful. He needs someone experience to recreate the knowledge he finds in the Great Library.

"Fine. I will be able to finish this in a day and I agree with you being a top priority in this store." Jose agrees with the deal and signs a contract with him.

Arthur is delighted with the contract but he suddenly sees that Jose will soon explode if he does not tell him what these items are. "Although I cannot show you just yet how it works but these are actually parts of a weapon that I designed. You will see it in action after you finished making it. For now, I will tell you the name of this weapon."

"This is a handgun."
