Another Method

There is an alternative method with the same technique in improving one's magical talent that Arthur has yet to try. It is rare to find someone with high mental strength and someone who can use the technique themselves.

However, if someone proficient with the technique helps the other person to retain the mana outside of the mana core, then the mana core will also expand. This is the other method that Arthur is trying to tell Butler Hans. Arthur wants to try this technique with him.

Arthur is a witness of the loyalty that Butler Hans has shown to King Harry. Helping him improve his magic talent is not something he will regret.

When Butler Hans has heard this different method, his eyes shine with hope as there is still a possibility of improving his talent.

"Are you ready?" Arthur asks the butler.

"Yes." Butler Hans replies with excitement.

Arthur begins to guide him by first letting him sit down, cross-legged. Then, he asks Butler Hans to close his eyes and empty his mana core. Afterwards, Arthur also sits behind him and closes his eyes. He places his right hand on the back of Butler Hans.

A mana core with at least the diameter of two coins can be seen floating in the body of Butler Hans. He is still way talented than Arthur a year ago but this has changed with this technique.

Without any delay, Arthur begins to guide the mana from his mana core toward the surrounding of the mana core that Butler Hans has. His proficiency with the technique and his mental strength have really improved as he cannot feel his energy being drained.

A few minutes have gone by and the previously two coins in diameter mana core has turned into at least three coins in diameter. This is already a significant leap for Butler Hans. This is around three times the volume of his previous mana core.

When Butler Hans is about to speak, Arthur commands him. "Let us continue, Butler Hans."

Butler Hans has been caught up by his excitement and he begins to focus once more. An increase in diameter of the orb-like mana core is a huge leap to the volume or amount of mana one can store.

Arthur continues to pour mana until he has exhausted half of his mental strength and he stops the technique. "I think we are done for today, Butler Hans."

Looking at his mana core, Butler Hans cannot believe his eyes. His mana core is now around eight coins lined up in diameter. It means the volume of his mana core has multiplied to sixty four times than before. This technique is out of this world.

Seeing how happy Butler Hans is with the result, Arthur feels like the exhaustion he received from it is all worth it. If his father is alive, will he be proud of him for taking care of his most beloved friend?

Arthur shakes his head as he stands up from his position. "Butler Hans, let us test your talent."

Butler Hans is also excited to know how much he has improved and to what his potential growth is. This is not a simple gift from Arthur as this is not just an advancement in ability but also a possibility for his lifespan to increase.

He stands close to the tester and puts both of his hands on it. It grows from red, orange, yellow, and it has continued for sometime before stopping on the color blue. Blue talent! Butler Hans has the potential to become a Saint Mage.

However, talent and potential are different to actual strength. Without work and diligence, he will remain stuck at the Magic Apprentice rank.

Seeing this talent, Arthur cannot help but smile to the excited old man. "Butler Hans, I think this is the maximum we can do. Your mana core is already near the boundary of your mana space."

Mana space is the place where a magician's mana core is stored. This mana space is really long but its width is not that's why the orb can no longer expand upwards. Hence, even if there is still a space above, it can no longer be used.

Butler Hans is grateful to the help that Arthur has given him. He kneels down and lowers his head. "Our family has served the Windshire Family for decades. As how my father has been loyal to your grandfather. As how I have been loyal to the late King Harry. I promise to serve the rest of my life as your most trusted aide. May the mana of this world bear witness to this oath."

Magical Oath is different from a magic contract. In a contract, they can list the consequences of the breach of contract excluding death. However, in a Magical Oath, one binds himself to the law and order of the world. This means that the instance they have a tinge of breach and even just for thinking of breaching their oath for a second can instantly kill them.

Arthur has not expected Butler Hans to give him a Magical Oath but he has the desire to recruit Butler Hans in helping him run the city. He has figured out that he cannot only focus on running the city. He needs to improve his strength in order to avenge his father and protect his citizens.

Arthur plans on giving Butler Hans the authority to run the whole city's projects. He will only be designing and planning the development of the city but it will be Butler Hans who will help him oversee all of this. In short, he will be in charge of what Arthur rewrites from the Great Library.

There are a lot of things that he cannot oversee personally such as the development of structures and also in training military men. The main focus of Butler Hans will be to become a General of the Camelot City's Military.

Hearing this plan, Butler Hans kneels in front of Arthur. "I will not betray your trust."
