The day of awakening finally came. The Silver family's main mansion was bustling with people. The celebration was just beginning. The branch families and the main family's members have gathered in the garden, waiting for the leader to start the ceremony. Everyone was conversing with each other. It was kinda noisy.
They were dressed in expensive clothing, and some women were flaunting their new garments, expensive jewelry, and branded bags to each other, trying to show off their wealth indirectly. While some of the men and women were engaged in lightly sparring in the arena, just beside the garden.
This year six teenagers from the branch families will be going through the awakening procedure. And Ace was supposed to go from the main family, but no one had seen him since the morning.
An aircraft stopped above the garden.
Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and looked above. The leader has arrived. The noisy environment became calm.
[Booom] Jaxon landed in the garden. He was wearing a black and white tuxedo.
"Greetings to the leader..."
Everyone showed their respect and bowed before Jaxon. Some of them did it out of respect, while others in fear. Among them were those who assisted Vincent and were surprised to see Jaxon's calm face. Those few were sweating out of desperation and fear.
"Enough with the greetings... Raise your heads..."
"I see... So everyone is present from all branches. Good... Very good..."
"Today is the day where a new generation of superhumans will rise. In a moment, we will start the awakening process... But before that... Ace... I hope you had enough time..."
Jaxon said in a serious tone and looked into the crowd.
"Yeah. As I thought... They couldn't help themselves and came to witness it with their own eyes. Pretty overconfident bunch if I say so," One of the kids walked out of the crowds and stood beside Jaxon, "Well, I have finished marking them... Oh man, their hearts are beating like crazy, or should I say, hammering in their chest in fear?"
Ace took off a mask from his face, revealing his real face.
[2 Hours earlier]
Even though Ace had an argument with everyone, he didn't want to let go of the opportunity to awaken and wanted to put his plan of catching the traitors to use. He only wanted to have a few days of peace without anyone trying to kill him. So, he explained his plan to his grandpa.
"Those traitors won't be able to hold their curiosity and excitement to hear the news of my death... Had they succeeded, they would have blamed you for the death of the Silver family's savior..."
"But their plan failed. And since you suppressed the news from getting out on top of that, Vincent is dead. So there is no one they could contact to get the news about the current situation... Or you could say that they didn't try to contact in fear of exposing their identities..."
"They would draw the conclusion that Vincent is either dead or hiding after killing me... Probably the latter since he was a Shapeshifter of 7th Level..."
"That curiosity and the urge to know what exactly happened will draw those traitors into the ceremony. And I will mark them for you... Please take care of them properly this time..."
Ace finished his explanation and looked at his grandpa's face.
"Humm, you are not wrong... But your plan got a little flaw..."
"Won't they think we captured Vincent and forced him to spill information about them? They are already underground or ran into another country by now..."
Jaxon inquired with a serious expression. He thought that Ace's plan was good, but it wasn't 100% perfect.
"That's possible. But do you think that Vincent really knew about their identities? I mean, do you really think that someone, blinded by revenge for his son, would care about anyone else as long as he got a chance to kill the only child of his archnemesis?"
"The answer is no. They just ticked him off from the dark and supplied him with a rare poison... Even if someone exposed themselves to Vincent, the others in the dark had already taken care of them in fear of their identity exposure..."
"The chess pieces are already in their places... They are just waiting for their king's order for a checkmate... And, I have something to increase our chance to at least... Humm. Let's say... 99%"
Ace explained his thoughts with a sly smile. He already knew the way the world works.
In the past, he worked with some shady people. He saw how they operate. Then those dreams about his own death in a gunfight. The one he used to work for tried to kill the loose ends. So, this time, he thought of utilizing the same method to kill loose ends. In this case, he decided to use Jaxon as the trigger.
"What 99%?" Jaxon asked in confusion.
"Humm. You are curious, I see. Allow me to give you a hint..."
"Do you remember the day I was born? What were dad's chances of survival in that dungeon breakout? What were mom's chances of survival from that parasite? What chance did you have of survival from your internal injuries?"
"Don't tell me you all thought it was some kind of a miracle..."
"Just follow my plan and leave the matter of success to me. This much you and everyone in the family owe me... If not, then I will leave the family for good... You got no other choice in this case."
Ace said with a sly smile. He thought of using his God-given Skills to finally have some fun and bring nightmares to his enemies. He was laughing like an evil maniac in his mind, thinking about putting his bad luck and misfortune into others' bodies.
"Haaaa..."
"Very well... Let's follow your plan. What could go wrong, right?"
"But, young man... You got some explaining to do after all this is over..."
Jaxon agreed to Ace's proposal after thinking for a bit. He was curious about Ace's secret, but for now, he didn't want to press him for information and worsen their already dangling relationship.
Trisa was able to secure a fake mask from Vincent's body. It was the face he was planning to wear to get out of the mansion, but the assassin ultimately killed him for revenge.
Ace used that mask of Shapeshifter to mingle among the guests. There he used the Wisp of Underworld to drain all his bad luck and then used God's Favor. To his surprise, he was able to see the ones marked with his Wisp as dark skull signs appeared above their heads. While a few others had golden feather signs above their heads. So, it was easy to identify the wicked ones among them.
He then used the invisible Aura strings his grandpa was controlling from afar. He spoke and shook hands with everyone with the skull mark while Jaxon blindly trusted his grandson and wrapped his invisible Aura threads to their bodies.
[Present Time]
"Everyone, just stay in your place. There are some uninvited guests among you, so allow me to clear them up for everyone's safety..."
"Aura attraction..."
Jaxon extended his hand toward the crowds. Red Aura threads emerged from his fingers and stretched above the guests like a tree, extending its branches at a rapid rate and pulling the ones with the Aura marks above. It looked like a massive tree with human fruits.
The traitors tried to resist with all their might. But, in front of absolute power, they couldn't do anything. The others stood there, holding their breath. Some of the traitors were their allies, while some were their family members, but no one dared to speak up in front of Jaxon's authority.
Trisa and Jin were waiting in the outer area. They thought a lot about their son and how they had been treating him like a tool. They felt guilty and couldn't gather up the courage to face their son.
"So, what do you want to do with them?" Jaxon asked Ace with a little smile, seeing the plan worked perfectly.
"Just hand them over to mother..."
"With her expertise... She should be able to get them talking about the real mastermind... I don't want anything more than that..." Ace replied with a satisfied smile. He was feeling good and happy. He was glad that his bad luck did not interfere with him.
Or so he thought until...
"Having a party..."
"And you forgot to invite your best friends..."
Until some uninvited guests decided to drop by the Silver mansion. The eternal rival of the Silver family, The Lian family...
