Chapter 16

Lia's heart pounded as she neatly folded Kieran's epistle and pushed it deep into her desk drawer. It was the first letter she had ever received.

I always thought letters were only for lovers or distant relatives, but Kieran's been writing to me all this time! I can't believe I didn't receive any of his messages for the last four years!

After some contemplation, Lia picked up her fountain pen. Although she would have to deliver her reply in person upon Kieran's imminent return to Corsor, she was itching to answer his questions.

Lia desperately wanted to share how tall she had grown, her experiences of the four seasons in Corsor, and what the latest opera was about. Most importantly, she wanted to tell him about her acceptance into the Academy.

"Hello… wait, no. Dear Kieran… Dearest Kieran?"

Lia crumpled the parchment in frustration as she struggled to find the right words.
