Along the way to the Sunshine, Mirena's favorite coffee shop. She noticed that the driver was staring at her suspiciously.
It was a typical thing for her, but it felt different all of a sudden and she wanted to know his name.
With over a thousand levels of confidence, Mirena turned to Drake. She cleared her throat and took a glimpse of the driver.
"Who's that guy?" she asked, wondering about his name and relationship to Drake. "I caught him staring at me."
"He's my childhood friend and assistant, Trace," Drake replied.
He then tapped Trace's back gently, "Good job, dude. But can you stop staring at her? It's a creepy thing if you don't mind me saying it."
Trace chuckled. He couldn't just take his eyes off her. Mirena's beauty brought him to the brightest place he have ever known.
Through the rearview mirror, he got the chance to stare at her perfect face before she turned to Drake's possession.
"I apologize. I didn't mean admiration can leads it that way." Trace asked for forgiveness for what he have done.
For some people, it is considered to be as creepy as hell. But for Mirena, it was literally a dream come true. Trace looked too handsome and if given a chance, she would throw herself to him as well.
She crossed her legs and looked straight into the rearview mirror. "I'm used to it and it doesn't matter as long as you're that handsome."
It was a compliment that fluttered Trace's heart. Every word she said stuck in his head, hoping that he could sleep next to her even once.
In the middle of the fun, Trace felt something wrong. He neither wants to start a fight with Drake nor set aside their friendship over a woman.
Before it provoked the monster within him, he quickly cleared things out.
"I'm sorry, I will stop now." Trace said as he parked the car alongside the road.
Sunshine is usually filled with customers every single day. Sometimes it is hard to find a perfect spot, especially during weekdays but today seemed odd.
Trace quickly opened the door and waited for Drake and Mirena to step out of the car. Giving them enough time was the best thing he could do right now.
Of course, he wanted Drake to succeed even if it only cause him another heartache.
On the other hand, Drake walked beside Mirena. He couldn't find the exact words to express everything he felt at this moment.
"You never changed, Mirena Elisse Miller. I will make sure that you will beg on your knees, sooner or later." he thought before he pulled the glass door and let her enter inside like a gentleman usually does.
If he has to do these nasty and old-fashioned things to win her heart, Drake wholeheartedly accepted the consequences of his decisions.
As soon as she stepped into the floor, Drake took a deep breath and followed her. Everyone turned their gaze at him as if a popular celebrity just arrived at the shop. Until a group of teenagers approached him.
They were five, gorgeous young ladies who admired Drake's jaw-dropping physique. These past few months, no one captured their hearts as they thought adults were good lovers than young men.
The golden-brown-haired girl clasped her hands and looked intently into his eyes. She was giggling and couldn't ask for more than a picture with him.
"Excuse me, can we take some pictures with you? You look too handsome!" she asked, waiting for a yes.
Such a scene wasn't new to Drake but he didn't want to leave them behind. After all, they were only asking for some pictures with him and it won't take too long.
He said, "Just one photo because my girlfriend is waiting for me."
All of them pouted and stood closer to him. Knowing that he was taken already shattered their hearts into pieces.
On the other hand, Mirena was watching Drake from a distance. She couldn't believe that he agreed with the teenagers' foolish ideas.
But at some point, she felt a tingling feeling within her chest. She knew what does it mean, yet Mirena chose to ignore it.
She sighed, walking closer to the countertop where her old friend, Shaira stayed for eight hours every day. She then sat down and put her purse aside.
"What's brought you here?" Shaira asked her and finished washing her hands. "Just seeing you like this, I guess you haven't found the perfect toy for this week."
Mirena shrugged off her shoulders and didn't utter a single word. Instead, she turned her gaze at the man who was smiling widely in front of the camera.
"Damn, he's way too perfect! What do you think?" she asked out of the blue and looked like an idiot. She didn't notice that it's been a while since she started staring at Drake.
As a supportive friend, Shaira Greene nodded her head. She then followed the direction of Mirena's eyes and got starstruck by the man's breathtaking beauty.
She couldn't believe either that a goddess-like man truly existed in this world.
"Damn! Is that your new toy, Mirena?"
Shaira bit the bottom of her lips as soon as she caught a glimpse of Drake. Her heart started to beat as fast as it could be every time she fell in love with someone at very first sight.
Her round eyes twinkled, dreaming she could touch that hard chest and flat abdomen. Shaira would surely surrender herself to a man like him.
However, her fantasies vanished when Drake smiled and walked her way. She knew he was coming for Mirena and not for a poor coffeemaker like her.
She quickly cleared her throat and made Mirena's favorite coffee in a few seconds.
"Here's your coffee–"
"Hey, I'm sorry for keeping you waiting. I just can't turn down the young girls' favor. It was just a photograph after all." Drake's voice was enough to cut her off.
Shaira blinked her eyes, pinching her cheeks as if it was merely a dream. Her world stopped for a few minutes as she took the chance to stare at his flawless face.
Until Mirena burst into laughter which brought her back to reality.
"That's fine. Just take your order so that we can start to discuss important things." Mirena replied and winked at him which made him laugh as well.
There was maybe a sweet smile on her lips but deep inside, she wanted to grab those girls' hair out of anger.
"Stop dreaming because Drake will be my irreplaceable toy, sooner or later." she thought as she manifested things to happen in the future.
