The Vision

-2015 Novi Grad, Sokovia-

While riding the jet that Stark provided for them, the Avengers alongside Vision, Wanda and Pietro were scattered inside. Clint is the one sitting in the pilot area beside Tony. Steve stands and leans on a supporting metal pillar behind the pilots.

Bruce, who is still unable to move on from his previous devastating attack, sits in one of the chairs attached to the middle table of the jet. He faces no one in hopes to keep himself calm and relaxed. Thor, Loki and Vision stand at the far end of the jet just looking at the others quietly.

They mentally prepare themselves for what is about to happen once they arrive in the area. At the same hand, this moment of silence was taken advantage of by Steve as he one by one laid the orders and commands that he had for the team.

"Ultron knows we're coming," Steve said.

Pietro stares at the earpiece given not just to him but to everyone else for effective communication later during the battle. He sits in one of the chairs in front of Wanda who is sitting in one of the same seats in the middle of the aircraft. After he placed the earpiece he turned his look down to stare at the floor. Wanda did the same thing as she awaits the next words from the captain.

"Odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire. And that's what we signed up for." Steve then turned his look at Pietro. "But the people of Sokovia, they didn't. So our priority is getting them out."

No one responded to that. At this moment all they have to do is listen to Steve since he's the one standing up right now, carrying the burden to strategize and think about the ways they could survive this battle in one piece.

"All they want is to live their lives in peace. And that's not gonna happen today... But we can do our best to protect them and we can get the job done," Steve continued. He let his eyes wander around the small confinement to see the reactions of the other members. "We find what Ultron's been building. We find Romanoff and we clear the field... Keep the fight between us."

He then turned his body a little so he's somehow facing Tony in front of him. Then he looked down as he thought of a way to properly say the next few statements that he wanted to say.

"Ultron thinks we're monsters, that we're what's wrong with the world," he said with a heavy heart. "This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right."

Upon hearing that final remark, Tony raised his head up and looked at Steve. The latter on the same hand looked up to meet his gaze.

Minutes later, they were able to land the jet and start executing their initial plan which is to get the people out of the city to safety.

Using his hyperspeed, Pietro enters the city's police department where not many police officers are currently staying. There are a few who are busy doing nothing at all.

"We're under attack! Clear the city! Now!" he said with his usual Russian accent.

The two police officers who were at the front desk only looked at him even after he left the precinct using his hyperspeed again. Then they didn't care about what he said after he disappeared. They went back to what they were doing, thinking that it's nothing really important.

After a few seconds Pietro came back with an assault rifle in his right hand. He pointed it up at the ceiling before firing a few rounds of it. Surprising the people inside of the station.

"Get off your asses," he ordered before once again leaving them.

Meanwhile on an intersection close to the residences, Wanda stood in the middle of the road, using her magic to flow into the minds of the residents in and outside of their houses. As the magic touches them, they get instructed to leave the city at once even without the need for words.

Alongside her, Loki also used his illusions to multiply himself and with his mental command, his replicas searched far and wide of the place and houses that Wanda couldn't reach anymore. His replicas are the ones who guide the people and tell them to leave for their own safety.

Given a different order, Thor and Bruce went to a different location in the city. Since Bruce is in his human form, Thor was the one to destroy a big wall of rocks to make a way for him to enter the location where the robots of Ultron were mining. Upon entering the place, the god of Thunder could already see that the place somehow became an underground cave. There are lights on the walls, big machines that aid their creations.

As Thor wanders around to search for clues. Bruce went the opposite way as his task is specifically to find Natasha.

Building after building after building were cleared by the twins and with the god of Mischief. As for Clint, he looked for a higher ground where he can use his skills in order to look out for everyone even from a distance.

After a while of wandering off inside Ultron's workplace, Bruce finally arrives at a place where the holding cell is.

"Natasha!" he calls blindly just in case that she's in the place. "Natasha!"

The female avenger heard his call and immediately stood up. She walked towards the cage's gate to call back at him.

"Bruce?"

Bruce saw her and he hurriedly approached the gates, holding onto her hand. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah."

"The team is in the city. It's about to light up," Bruce informed her with a soft and low voice.

"I don't suppose you found a key lying around somewhere."

"Yeah, I did." Bruce stepped backwards as he showed the weapon powered by the same energy in Loki's sceptre in his hand.

Without the need for any warning, Natasha took a step away from the gate lock to keep herself from getting hit and injured by the weapon. Seeing this, Bruce immediately fired the weapon at the metal lock. The lock in place melted immediately and while Bruce places down the weapon somewhere, Natasha was the one who opened the door to let herself out.

"So what's our play?" she asked once she was out.

"I'm here to get you to safety," Bruce answered.

Because of that answer, Natasha felt a little confused. "Job's not finished."

"We could help with the evacuation, but I-I can't be in a fight near civilians." Bruce shook his head. "And you've done plenty... our fight is over."

"So, we just disappear?"

On the ground surface, Clint finally went down as the place he was surveillancing earlier got cleared off civilians. Steve also helped with the evacuation since his post was on the bridge. He manages the traffic of the cars leaving the place.

"Come on." He encourages the people to move faster so that it's easier for everyone to get out of the place.

Tony at this moment is already suited up in his Iron Man suit with a new voice to replace Jarvis. He is just waiting for his suit to finish scanning the place and locate Ultron's whereabouts.

"Your man's in the church, boss," Friday informed him. "I think he's waiting for you."

So he flew there to meet up with the enemy. He landed inside of the church only to find no one there until he heard a familiar voice.

"Come to confess your sins?" Ultron asked.

"I don't know, how much time you got?" Tony sarcastically answered.

"More than you."

Ultron appeared behind Tony which made him turn around and step back a little.

"Uhh... Have you been juicing? Little vibranium cocktail?" Tony teased. "You're looking... I don't wanna say 'puffy'."

"You're stalling to protect the people."

"Well, that is the mission. Did you forget?"

"I've moved beyond your mission. I'm free," Ultron answered as he walked from across the room to circle around the center stage of the church.

As he does this, a mechanism that was previously built by him, sprung out in the middle of the concrete floor breaking it into debris.

"What? You think you were the only one stalling?" Ultron walks a little closer to Tony only to walk back from where he came from.

"There's the rest of the vibranium," Friday informed Tony while the suit scans the new machine in front of him. "Function, still unclear."

"This is how you end, Tony," Ultron continued. "This is peace in my time."

From outside of the church, the robots that Ultron made started to crawl up and break through the surface of ground. Some came from under the waters, some from the sides of the bridge, and the resident's house. Just like Ultron and the Iron man suit, they can also fly around and shoot through their blasters.

Due to their appearance, the people of Sokovia started to panic and run. Looking for safety and a place to hide. From inside of the church, Tony saw this and he immediately acted upon it. He flew up to attack the enemies. Steve on the bridge started to get attacked as well.

"Go!" he shouts at the people to clear the area. One of Ultron's robots came down on a car's hood next to him.

It fired a few shots that made Steve cover himself with a shield. Then it went down to combat him but he managed to hit it with his shield. Clint also didn't escape the attacks. While watching the people leave the place, he shoots one of the robots climbing up the side of another bridge.

When another came up behind him, he took an arrow and stabbed it right in the face. That's when Wanda and Loki came to the bridge to assist him.

"Get off the bridge!" Wanda instructed as she gently pushed some people away to a safer place.

Clint busily eyed an incoming robot and shot his shot at it making it explode. While one which came from the other side of the bridge shifted its shooting mechanism with a bigger gun.

It targeted the people behind Wanda which forced her to make a shield-like force field to protect the people. "Run!"

The robot continued to shoot at her and eventually one penetrated the shield and hit her below the belt. Seeing this, Loki conjured two daggers before throwing it at the robot, hitting the chest and head parts. This shut it down almost immediately.

Then he looked at Wanda and saw her recovering from the previous hit. "You okay?"

"Yeah."

"Got to watch your back," Loki said.

From inside the church Ultron stands near his machine as he watches the commotion happening outside among the people, his robots, and the Avengers.

"Ultron," Vision calls upon him while he descends from the top of the church's ceiling.

With the light behind him, it subtly appears as if he is descending from heaven. But even before Vision could reach the ground, Ultron flew up to match Vision's level in mid-air.

"My Vision," he said, "they really did take everything from me."

"You set the terms," Vision replied with his ever so softly tone. "You can change them."

"Alright." Ultron went closer to Vision and gripped him by the neck.

This opportunity was taken by Vision and with his free arms and hands he grabbed Ultron on the sides of his face. His eyes turned like those of the robots being processed as he entered Ultron's technological consciousness.

He could see that everything about Ultron is in color blue while his is in yellow. And the longer that he holds him, the yellow continuously overcomes the blue just like how it did during their first meeting and Vision was still Jarvis.

While all of this is happening inside, Ultron gets the advantage outside and he forcefully pushes Vision against a wall. In hopes to make him let go.

The struggle is clearly seen from both of them but that same struggle is equally given to all of the members of the Avengers. Steve is one instance.

He continues to fight the robots attacking him and some civilians on the bridge. He managed to knock one robot out before pushing it against the hood on its back and using his strength, he pulled the arm of it while one of his feet pushed the body to the opposite side.

Thor who is still inside of the underground workplace of Ultron also encountered some of the robots. It was an easy peasy fight for Thor knowing that he can fight bigger and stronger opponents.

Meanwhile in another part of the city, Pietro arrived to save the evacuating people from the robots that just got there and others which are still breaking through from underground. With a little crack of the neck, he used his hyperspeed to take down multiple enemies in one pass. Their body parts shattered like glass in slow-motion.

Coming back to Tony, he continued to fight in the mid-air just to keep giving out a helping hand to his teammates. But at the same time he is also looking after Vision.

"Friday, the Vision?" Tony asked.

"Boss, it's working. He's burning Ultron out of the net. He won't escape through there," Friday answered, making sure to keep an eye at everyone to see what they're doing.

Just as they were speaking, Vision was able to completely wipe out Ultron from the net. It made him let go of the former and hold his head as if he's having a headache. Due to this, Vision lost his consciousness making him close his eyes and just float in the air.

"You shut me out," Ultron said with a hint of annoyance. "You think I care?"

He flew closer to Vision and held him by the sides of his head before rapidly bringing him down with the enemy atop of him. Afterward, he went to the middle of the room where his magnificent machine is located.

"You take away my world," he said, then he turned the knob on the machine to start it. "I'll take away yours."

From the underground workplace, Thor saw how the machines started to power on. They slowly started up, like some kind of machine that is switching up gears. It was until after another second that the looks of it became clear. There were so many thrusters attached to the underside of the city.

Since they are thrusters underneath, the big chunk of land is going nowhere else but up. Because of this, the ground from the surface started to crack as if the place was just hit by an earthquake.

It also caused the ground to shake and the rocks to fall on the underground workplace where Thor tried his best to shield himself from the massive debris falling onto him.
