Letter

Yakura entered the village. He looked around and then looked to the map.

Yakura: Alright, they told me where to go. But didn't tell anything about where I can find them. How the f*** am I supposed to find them?

An old man came near Yakura:

Old man: You need help young man?

Yakura: I guess so. I am looking for the chief, or whatever you call it, of this village.

Old man: It isn't far, but can I ask you are you looking for him?

Yakura: I got a letter for him.

Old man: Oh, what does it say?

Yakura: I don't know. Lemme just open the thing that I am not supposed to open and read it.

Old man: Haha, my bad young one. You can go that way. He should be there.

Yakura: Thank you.

Old man: You're welcome, Yakura.

The old man started walking. Yakura stopped for a second.

Yakura: ...Was that... my imagination. No, I'm not dizzy enough to hallucinate. Meeh. Since he didn't try to kill me, I don't think he has any bad memory with me. But just in case, I think I should check his mind.

Yakura started walking. It was not a big village, so people knew each other and they notice quickly when a stranger come. They were not glaring at him, they were just curious. Yakura reached to the building. He went in. The chef and 2 more people were inside.

Chief: Hello, you need something?

Yakura: I'm just here to deliver this.

Yakura gave him the letter.

Yakura: It has all the details you need.

Chief: How generous of you to travel all the way to just give mee that letter.

Yakura: Does he... What makes you so sure that I traveled a long way to give you this. I might be from a nearby village.

Chief: How could anybody not know how much you travelled? You are a pretty famous traveller.

Yakura: I think you are mistaken me with the traveller, that is searching for his sister.

Chief: No, were're not. And we know you well, Yakura.

Yakura: Okay. That's it. Can somebody explain to me what is going on? Or should I just read your minds.

Chief: I don't think we need to explain anything. It should be obvious.

Yakura: Yeah, I get it, you know me. But, how? Even though my name is kinda spread all over the world. People don't usually know my face.

Cheif: Rumors spread quickly. Especially after what you have done with Shizen. We started to hear about you a lot: A boy with curly hair and a scarf has killed The Absolute Shizen.

Yakura: Well, I'm a little old for "boy", but it's fine. Oh wait... So how do you know I killed her? I'm sure she has some haters, unlike me. I have a lot of them.

Chief: Who could be capable of doing such thing. For I know The Absolutes never attacked each other. And considering you have been killing all her pets...

Yakura: Good point. Now can you please read that letter. I've got a lot to do.

Chief read the letter.

Man 1: What does it say.

Chief: Saying we were right about Yakura. They are apoligesing for not listening to us. And also, they are saying you need a few soldiers, am I right?

Yakura: Ugh... Kinda...

Chief: I would be happy to help, but I can't send my soldiers without asking for their approvel. This is not the same as hunting wild animals.

Yakura: Well I'm not wanting you guys to face The Absolutes right off. I just want you to keep their armies busy and stuff.

Chief: It is still quite risky. Not to mention we also need some of them here to protect ourselves. I really wish I could do more, but that's all I can do now.

Yakura: It's alright. I gotta go now. You can send your soldiers to the tavern a little away from here. They must be there in 4 and a half days.

Chief: The tavern? It will take at least one day for us to reach there.

Yakura: Then chose them quickly. See ya.

Chief: Wait!

Yakura: What?

Chief: Can't you stay a little longer? You can rest here for a while.

Yakura: Sorry I got plans to do.

Chief: Like what?

Yakura: Being alone.

Man 2: Well, that was too honest.

Yakura: Sorry, but I still need to think about the attacks, traps and more. I don't really have time for resting.

Chief: You don't need to plan all of those by yourself. Our commander here is really good at tactics.

Man 1: Yes. We know you are really smart, but it wouldn't hurt to hear another plan, right?

Yakura: Okay. I guess I can stay a few more minutes.

Chief: But aren't-

Yakura: Fine, fine. I'll rest for a bit. Saying "no" all the time makes me tired.

Chief: Very well. Let us go to our guest house.

Yakura: You have something like that?

Chief: Guests are really important for us.

They both went to the guest house.

Chief: This is the place. You can sleep here. If you want to eat or drink anything, just tell me.

Yakura: Thanks, but I don't remember the last time I eat something.

Chief: Pardon me?

Yakura: I can gather all the energy I need by meditating. It's pretty usefull.

Chief: I really wish you could stay here more.

Yakura: Trust me. You don't want to.

Chief: We know that no harm will come from you, also there are tons of knowledge in your mind that we are dying to learn.

Yakura: It's more about, I kinda attract danger. I might mean no harm, but can't say the same thing for the ones that are after me.

Chief: What if there were noone left chasing you?

Yakura: That doesn't sound possible, but fine. I can teach you a few things if we survive this.

Cheif: I'm really greatfull. Now I'll leave you alone.

Yakura: Thanks.

Chief left.

Yakura: Maybe it isn't that bad. Having company... no, friends. All their thoughts about me are good. With a few exceptions ofcourse. They also don't have anything blocked in thier minds. Which means The Absolutes or someone else is not involved. Well... A little bit sleep won't hurt right?

Yakura slept for a few hours. The chief knocked the door.

Yakura: Huh... How is it... Wait... Who is it?

Chief: It's me, chief. May I come in?

Yakura: Sure... sure...

The chief comes in the house, he is holding a tray which has a few plates of food.

Chief: Thought for once in a while, you'd want to eat something.

Yakura: Thanks, but you don't really have to go through all of this.

Chief: It wasn't a big deal to make some food for you.

Yakura: Not just food. Being nice to me. I appretiate it, but it kinda makes me feel... weird.

Chief: Weird? What does it makes you feel weird, or what exactly is this "weird" feeling.

Yakura: "Guilt", I guess. I'm the one who is supposed to do something for you all. But I didn't do anything for you, yet you are always nice to me. Giving me a place to rest, giving me food. All of these puts you in danger and I shouldn't need all the things you offer to me.

Chief: What makes you think you didn't do anything for us? You saved our lives from very dangerous people.

Yakura: From who? Shizen?

Chief: She is also included, but there is more to that. I get that you did so many things so you can't remember all, but I thought you would figure out what you have done for us by reading our minds by now.

Yakura: Well mind reading is not like reading a book, it's much faster, but you can't reach every single knowlegde within seconds. I just searched your minds about my thoughts. Not little details.

Chief: A few years ago, one of the armies of The Absolutes were here. They tolds us that they come to protect us from you, but in reality, the only thing they did was leeching all our resources. Then one day, you came. You were pretty frightening. You asked them where the Absoultes are hiding. They didn't tell anything and you burnt them all. That fire... covered our whole village. But neither we or anything from our stuff was harmed. Even when you were so furrious, even there were a lot of enemies and innocent people, you targeted the right ones and didn't leave a single scratch on us. Not just you saved us, you also show us how amazing your skills are.

Yakura: You can say I know a few tricks.

Chief: I'm sure you have more than that. Raw power isn't enough to do that. Being able to control all of those... You know how to control your powers well. To do that all, you must also be really smart. And we, respect that smart mind of yours.

Yakura: Hmm, Shimana would have liked you.

Chief: One of the Absolutes would like me, you say? I don't think that's really great.

Yakura: No, it's actually great. She is... not really like others, but can't say she is on our side... It's really complicated, but my point was knowledge is really important for her. In our world people are generally focused on physical things. Strenght, size, materials... She thinks we only value the things we can see, we can buy. She is kinda right though. Seing someone who values knowledge would touch her heart.

Chief: Your speech is so powerfull that I might sympathize to them.

Yakura: It's just Shimana. The others only think about themselves. What they desire is the most important thing, nothing else is important.

Chief: How come none of them had a fight with the others.

Yakura: They are selfish and greedy, but not stupid. They know to draw their lines and who not to cross. You wouldn't want a really strong enemy, right? But they are kinda like friends, not sure how were they at first and don't care.

Chief: Well, considering they became your enemy, I don't think they are that smart.

Yakura: I hope I'll make you right.

Chief: I should be going. We will be beginning in a few hours. I will come again when we are ready. If you want anything more, please tell me.

Yakura: Thanks.

Chief left.

Yakura: Food, eh? Hm... Not bad. I might try this once in a while.

After finishing the food, Yakura laid down and thought about what they were gonna do. But shortly after, his thoughts are focused on different things. He is not used to kindness, especially this much. The idea of living among people like those... Having a calm life, being happy. Even someone like Yakura, who generally ignores his emotions, couldn't resist to think about those stuff. He thought about his life, his family, his friends... and Shimana. She... She was different from the others. That's what he thought. How was she right now? What will she do when she sees him? What will he do? While thinking all these questions, Yakura fell asleep again.

A few hours later. The commander entered the house.

Commander: Mister Yakura. We are ready.

Yakura: Coming.

Yakura got up from bed quickly and began following the commander.

Commander: You seem troubld a bit.

Yakura: Just a few dozens of questions bugging my mind. Nothing new to me.

Commander: May I ask what kind of questions are bothering you?

Yakura: I think I can work it out. Thanks anyway.

Commander: You're welcome, Mister Yakura.

Yakura: You can just call me "Yakura". You don't need the "mister" part.

Commander: As you wish.

Yakura: So, does this place far away from here? And have you come up with a plan? I'm not really used to having people with me to fight. I still can't figure out how I can manage them well.

Commander: Only a few hundred meters away. And don't worry. I have a few plans. They are not really reliable, but we can make something better together.

Yakura: Nice!
