[DAY 49]
While Neo was still undergoing his transformations in the cave where he fought the Stage 2 Tree Undead, the central district braced for an attack by an Undead Horde.
A massive Undead Horde consisting of 4 million undead came from the southern slum district of the city and has been attacking the central region and all human life for several days now and has been preparing an unprecedented hell on earth for the survivors since their arrival.
For the humans in the centrel district, every day consisted of countless fights against an incredible majority of undead, with the *Camp University* taking the hardest hit.
The camp is located in the southern region of the central district, therefore they are the first force which had to face the undeads full might.
Because of that, of the 300,000 initial survivors, the camp has seen countless deaths and just under 100,000 are still alive. Meanwhile, Camp Luma has repeatedly tried to help the students by mobilizing their own army to face the undead, they also exchanged weapons and supplies with each other. At the end, Camp Luma could rescue the survivors of Camp University, after which the two camps united and allied together.
The humans were lucky, if the undead were just a little bit more intelligent and could plan a coordinated attack like Neo can, then they would have an easy time with the humans and would roll over them with their mass alone.
Be that as it may, the undead do not have a higher intellect, and therefore attack the enemy separately and in waves. Among the undead there are now some Stage 1 Mutant Undead and you can even rarely see a Stage 2 Mutant Undead among the Horde.
The Stage 2 Mutant Undead are then often found in the depths of the Horde and often have special Traits that Neo would happily dissect and explore if they could see them.
However, the survivors don't see this as a good thing. No matter when you get into a fight against a Stage 2, you can't even remotely face the monster. The only alternative is for them to flee and regroup.
They could lure a Stage 2 which had six arms into a trap with this strategie and ultimately kill it. Only with heavy weapons and lots of explosives did the survivors of Camp Luma manage to kill the monster. Even the Invincible Three could only help marginally.
The only person who could damage the monster was Elly the Resilient, she managed to sever two of the arms with her sword and gave the camp the opportunity to strike. Nobody knows how she did it, but her sword swings and her movements suddenly became so fast that the Stage 2 just couldn't dodge her.
But that was the only Stage 2 that humans could kill so far. There remain seven others who are in the Horde. All of them are special in their own way and have individual Traits.
The most threatening for the survivors is an undead, which is more than 50 meters tall and destroys and eats everything around it, even other undead are trampled by the monster.
The leaders of the camp fear that this Stage 2 will be their biggest opponent, especially since it can easily smash through their barricades, which are about 8 meters tall. When those walls fall, the Horde would no longer protect any of the survivors within, and their certain deaths would be sealed.
The leaders of Camp Luma and Camp University therefore tried to work out a strategy together on how to get fight off against the monster. They first tried to ask for support from the third camp in the central district in the north, which had been very quiet until now.
There are said to be some soldiers from the military in the camp and some weapons from the North District are said to be there as well, so there was hope that if they get their help, they could be better positioned against the huge monster that threatens them the most.
However, to their regret, the camp refused to assist in the fight against the Undead Horde, they simply barricaded themselves again and locked themselves in their camp.
'They're idiots, we made the situation very clear to them, they should understand that after we die, there's going to be an even bigger problem on their doorstep, right?' thought the leaders of the two survival camps when they heard about the cancellation of the military camp.
Frustrated, the leaders then focused on their own strength and tried to increase it. They still have the Mech shich Camp Luma took after defeating the Cult. It was under repair for a long time but is now functional again. The camp has also made some improvements that should destroy many undead at once. They also repaired some of the tanks and could make two of them functional again.
Furthermore, both camps have quite a bit of weapons and ammo and should be able to have enough against the fight. They also started training civilians some time ago. Everyone needs to know how to use a melee weapon, how to craft basic armor, how to purify water and food so they can survive in the apocalypse etc.
No force can use burdens that only hope others will protect them in the new world of the apocalypse. Here everyone has to do their bit to get something to eat and stay living. Even children and the old need to participate.
Furthermore, the two camps have introduced a new currency system, food stamps.
Each survivor gets food stamps for each undead he kills, for any supplies he gives to the camp, and for every service he renders, which he can exchange for a meal and something to drink.
The camp has also decided to hand out missions to specific groups of survivors to achieve those goals. They are paid for this in food stamps, ammo, and special weapons and privileges they receive upon completion.
One of the most well-known survivor groups is *Hope*, made up of the Invincible Three, Resilient Elly, and a few others of high reputation.
The survivors have also built countless defenses, putting up barbed wire and heavy machine guns everywhere, along streets and buildings.
The Undead Horde has already completely encircled the two camps that have joined forces in one place, and continuous gunfire, screams, and explosions can be heard everywhere.
The survivors are under immense stress and with each passing day under siege, the stress increases. Even when they are not fighting, their mental health continues to decline and many people have already panicked and attacked those around them, friends and even family.
Reports of rape, murder and theft are presented to the commanders every hour.
To set an example of such actions, the leaders almost always choose to send the perpetrators to the front lines, armed only with melee weapons, to fight the enemy for their lives and atone for their crimes. Most died instantly or were infected and shot by their guards before they could join the Horde.
The fighters lining the camp's walls risk their lives with each passing day in exchange for food stamps for themselves and any potential families they may have. Also, any man who volunteers and dies in the fight is promised that in return his family will receive enough food stamps to survive.
With this offer, the camp has been able to build a massive force of up to 700,000 fighters, all of whom will be sent into battle against the undead in shifts. While one group sleeps, the other is at the wall and fights against the undead.
This allowed the two camps to survive the defenses for the last six days of being under siege.
The deceased were shot in the head and their corpses were cremated lest they spread disease among the survivors.
Over time, however, food supplies and, above all, water become increasingly scarce. It won't be long before the defenses will crumble from within, and any humans in the siege will then serve as food for the undead.
…
From an destroyed hotel building an alien figure was currently watching the siege from a far.
The figure's skin is completely pale, but there are currently thousands of small black cracks on it. The character has bright red eyes and long black hair and is over two meters tall. It has claws instead of hands and sharp and deadly teeth in it's mouth. The character gazes eagle-eyed at what's happening from a high-rise rooftop in the distance with a slight smile on his face.
The character is none other than Neo, whose power has expanded to new heights in recent days.
Neo's body is currently in a state of rebuilding and is right in the middle of an important moment, but Neo feels that he needs a lot more energy to improve his body to this new stage, so after more than a week of meditation, Neo decided to strike today .
He has already received information from Aaron about the attack of the horde from the south and prepared his Legion after he woke up. He made a little detour to an old apartment where he fought his first Stage 2.
There Neo donned all the weapons and armor of his elite undead, and also gave them some of the weapons there.
Inside the apartment, Neo also found some keys to storages that the previous owner had and when he managed to gain access to the storages, all he found there was an incredible amount of more armor and weapons.
Neo estimates that there were around 80,000 armor sets and around 60,000 antique weapons in the ten giant storerooms.
Neo was completely overwhelmed when he saw the amount of weapons and armor that the apartment's previous owners had.
The armors were all different designs. Some were about the Middle Ages but most were about the ancient times of Egypt. The weapons, on the other hand, were all different in nature as well, here some longblades and bows and there shields and spears.
Most of Neo's legion is currently LATE STAGE 0 UNDEAD, but about 30% of the legion has mutated in the last few days and become LOW STAGE 1 MUTANT UNDEAD and were therefore able to carry weapons and fight with them.
Neo thanked the previous owner from his heart as he inspected his new Legion clad in Egyptian armor. His Legion has been mercilessly hunting and eating every human in the east district for the past few days, so Neo has long wanted to reward them for their efforts and now he was able to do so with the help of his sponsor, whom he himself killed. Hoping his sponsor could incarnate into a brave new world and indulge his passion for armor and swords, he set off for the siege.
And now he stands on this former hotel or something and sees the siege in the distance, while his legion fills everything under him.
"IT'S TIME MY LEGION! TIME TO EAT AND EVOLVE!" Neo yelled suddenly in a demonic voice and his Legion answered him with a collective yell while holding their new weapons in the air...
