Normally, Nyrissa didn't pay attention to how much of a notorious flirt Amanda was. But when Amanda set her sights on Quentin, Nyrissa found that it pissed her off. Nyrissa wasn’t a violent person by nature. However, she was imagining slapping the crap out of her lifelong best friends.


“Oh, good!” he replied happily, saving Mandy from Nyrissa’s harsh words.


Quentin put his hand on Nyrissa’s hip to gently move her out of the way. For the brief moment that their skin connected, Nyrissa forgot what she was upset about. But, as soon as Amanda hooked her arm through Quentin and pulled him further into Nyrissa’s apartment.


“I am her best friend, Amanda,” she introduced herself. “Nyrissa and I are extremely close. So, you and I will get to know each other very well.”


Quentin seemed to stiffen a bit and gave Amanda a slight frown.


“So, you are Nyrissa’s partner?” Quentin asked.


Nyrissa opened her mouth to answer, but Amanda beat her to it.
