Nyrissa slowly pushed her eyes open and looked at the clock next to the bedside table. It was well after 9 in the morning, and the house was completely silent. That wasn't entirely unusual for a Sunday. Most of the time, Quentin and Natalie liked to sleep in, and Ryan would be up enjoying his first cup of coffee while he read. More often than not, Nyrissa would join him downstairs and enjoy the quiet morning together. She always looked forward to that. 


But this morning, neither one of her husbands were in bed. She sat up slightly and looked around the room, trying to find them. 


She was about to lay back down when her body flushed, and her stomach twisted hard. Slapping a hand over her mouth, Nyrissa raced to the bathroom and barely made it to the toilet before she lost it.


Nyrissa was still pressing her head against the cool bowl of the toilet when a knock came on the door. 


"Rissa?" Natalie's voice called through the door.
