Chapter2:New Beginnings

"Why's...it so small?"

He stared at the pale arm.

Using a little bit of strength he confirmed it's his arm, evident by how it moves according to his will.

He brought it above his head for a better view.

It was a pale white.Smooth without any blemish and the skin looked as soft as cotton. It was what you'd expect from toddler not a teen.

Wait if that's my hand then that would mean.

He quickly began to feel his face.

Small nose.

And my skin's so soft.

Yup,this could only mean one thing.I'M IN THE BODY OF A FUCKING KIDDD!!!!

Of all the things I could have been, you made me a kid!!!You really want me to die don't cha!!

Wait...this kid should have parents right?!

When he came to that realization the image of two figures flashed through his mind.

Mom,dad I hope you're taking my death well.

The thought brought a sudden sense of melancholy to his fragile mind.

Time flew by as he slowly gained control of his new body.

Sigh,this should be enough.

He finally had enough strength to move freely, and only felt a slight awkwardness with every movement.

Using his right arm he was able to prop himself up and was finally able to see anything other than that detestable sky.

He was also able to make out two short pale legs and another small pale arm.

I'm really a kid.

Using the strength in his legs and arms he was able to easily get to his feet.

He stood at 4ft6in,and possessed smooth pale white skin.He had a round face with slightly chubby cheeks, jet black hair and two vibrant emerald eyes.

He was the spitting image of his former self, only.....younger.

He wore a white silk shirt, comfortable brown leather shorts and suspenders with lined clogs on his feet.

It looked like the former owner of the body came from a wealthy family.

"But judging from the fact I was able to take his body,he must have met his end.The fact that someone from a wealthy family died in the middle of nowhere is already a cause for concern."

In the countless novels he read, most nobels were deplorable people who met a gruesome end.

"I really hope that ain't it."

"Well,it's not something I have control over. The only thing I have to worry about is surviving.I'm pretty sure starvation and dehydration will kill me before anything else."

"So first priority, find a something to eat and a water source."

He moved his head about trying to spot anything that could quench his thirst and sate his hunger.

Alas, the only thing he saw was a field of grass that stretched for miles on end in each direction.

Fuck!!!

Not only did this kid die,but to be so far from society.Either he traveled with family and something went wrong or his body was dumped here.

And I want to believe it's the former.

Huh?

He felt something in his left pocket.

Putting his hand in his pocket he pulled out a brown pouch.

Cling!Cling!

The sound of metal clashing against metal could be heard as he shook the pouch.

"Is this money?"

He opened the pouch to look inside and instantly grew shocked.

Gold.

The kid was carrying around gold. And not just one,but thirty pieces. That was a few hundred

dollars worth of gold and it was in the pockets of a child.

"Well that sements it,this kid definitely came from a wealthy family."

He put the money filled pouch back in his pocket and looked at the sun.

"The sun rises from the east and sets in the west.I hope this still applies or figuring out time is gonna be a pain in the ass."

He looked down towards his shadow. It was slighty slanted towards the west.

That means it's still morning.

"Plenty of walking time, maybe I can find a settlement before nightfall."

"Now,which way to go."

He pondered over which way to travel for a few minutes before settling on his path.

He put one hand on his hip and pointed straight ahead before saying in a childish glee.

"Straightaway!"

He held that pose for a few seconds before his body started to quiver and he couldn't contain his laughter.

Hahahahahha!!!

He fell to the ground as he hugged his stomach and tears started to form at the corner of his eyes.

He stayed like the for a while before he could get himself under control.

Laying on the bed of grass,he looked at the blue sky.A wide smile from ear-to-ear was plastered on his face.

Now that feels better.

I just got a second chance at life.

Shouldn't I be enjoying it.

So why be so serious.

I'm just a kid for FUCKS SAKE!!!

So no more depressing thoughts.

Only thoughts pertaining of a comfortable new life.

Now...time to really go.

He got up with a slight hop and faced forward.

In the distance while squinting his eyes he could see the ground start slope upwards. This wasn't only in front of him. North, east, west and even south. No matter where you look the ground slopes upwards. He looked at the place where the ground starts to slope and muttered to himself.

"I can reach that in one maybe two hours. This could serve as quite the exercise, well I could use it seeing as how scrawny my limbs are."

Having set a course he began his ardous treck.

As he walked he thought of several things.

Does this world have magic?

Do dragons exist here?

Maybe there's elves and dwarves.

Like that a hour passed by as he kept his walking pace.

Maybe I underestimated the distance a little.

Instead of arriving at the base of the slope it only became more clear.

Well I'll just have to endure it.

A few hours later he finally arrived at the base of the slope.

"I seriously mis...judg..ed t..the distance."

His hands was on his knees and he was breathing heavily.

Taking a deep breath he straightened his back and looked at the slope.

He had to lean back to see the peak.

"There's no way in hell I'm climbing this.Maybe there's another way than climbing."

Scanning the base of the slope he spotted an opening.

"What's down there."

He walked over to the opening.

He peered down the cavity and only saw darkness.

"Well this beats climbing."

He stepped into the cavity and embraced the darkness.

He walked forward with confidence.

Only to have the path slope downwards a few steps in causing him to lose his footing.

"SON OF A-"

His words was cut of as he fell to the ground and started to roll down the slope.

He used his arms to protect his face as he continued downwards.

It took a few minutes for his body to stop rolling and reach the bottom.

"Suddenly I'm starting to hate this world."

Enduring the dizziness,he got up from his seated position and started to pat down his shirt and pants, removing the collected dirt.

"Sooner or later I have to get another pair of-"

His words got caught in his throat as he laid his eyes on the most breathtaking sight he ever saw.

"Is this a city?"
