Chapter3:Abandoned City(1)
"Is this a city?"
Before him laid the most breathtaking view he ever saw.
The jewels embedded in the walls dyed the cavern in a ethereal blue light.
A huge contrast to the dark cavity.
There was several perfect semi-circular holes at the sides of the cavern.They all looked big enough to let three humans walk side by side without experiencing any discomfort .
He was able to make out what looks like books in the west most hole.
"This really is a city,but why would a city be down here?"
The whole situation put him on edge.
Huh
"Where's the people that lived down here?"
No one would willingly leave there home without taking there valuables with them.
Well no use speculating without checking the place out.
To the left he found steps leading down towards the western side of the wall.
He cautiously walked down the steps not wanting to have a redo of what happened earlier.
It didn't take long to reach the cavern floor and reach the first hole.
He looked inside the hole and was stunned speechless.
Swords.
More specifically,weapons,countless weapons.
The small semi-circular hole expanded into a circular room way bigger than expected.
How the hell is this possible?!!!
The room had an estimated diameter of about 400meters and the walls was packed with weapons.
They ranged from axes,daggers and spears to swords,hammers and even wooden staffs.
"This should be enough to support an entire army!!!"
His eyes moved from one weapon to another.Struggling to contain his excitement he moved closer to the nearest weapon.
It was a pair of short swords.They had sleek black blades and had two golden handles.
The body of the blades was covered in glowing purple markings making them way more eye-catching.
His hands was inches away from touching the two swords when he felt a strong resistance.
He tried to use more force only to have only to feel a stronger sense of resistance.
The resistance grew so strong that it threw him down to the floor,causing a sense of pain to spread through his arm.
AAARGHHHHH!!!!
The pain caused him to wail in anguish as he clenched his right arm close to his chest.
"It hurts...it hurts."
He looked at his hand.
His fingers were bent at weird angles and two were missing.Causing his hand to bleed profusely.
I'm gonna bleed out.
What to do...WHAT TO DO?!
As he was experiencing inner turmoil he didn't notice how the bleeding abruptly came to a stop.
Crack!Crack!Crack!
His fingers started to bend back into position.
The movement caused more pain to rack his senses.
AAAARGHHHH!!!
Each cracking sound was followed by a gut wrenching wail.
The process of his fingers moving back into position only lasted a few moments,but the pain did not fade.
Curled into a ball on the floor he hugged his hand close to his chest.
His shirt was covered in crimson blood and his face filled with tears and mucus.
His fingers was back to normal but the two missing fingers did not grow back.
Hahaha!!!Taking it easy what a farce.
Dying,getting dropped in the middle of nowhere and getting your fingers blown off,all in one day.
Stop kidding your self,William.
Your not one of the main characters in your novels,this is real-life.Walking around and touching stuff without a care in the world is gonna be the death of you.
For a few minutes his head was filled with only self-deprecating thoughts and another few minutes mixed with a lot of willpower to battle through his thoughts and to stand again.
When he got back to his feet he took another glance at the many weapons adorning the cave walls.Unlike his previous excitement the only feeling was that of fear,that he felt towards those weapons.
I'll come back here another time.
He walked through the opening and arrived back in the cavern.
Out of what he assumed was the armory he looked at his right-hand missing two fingers.
What was that?
The previous feelings of fear had all but vanished as he remembered how his fingers snapped back into position and the invisible force.
No ordinary human could heal that fast.If it was a normal human they would have bled out on the armory floor.
Deciding to through this to the back of his mind,he moved on to the next opening.
Just like before he stepped into the the opening and was welcomed by another huge room similar in size to the previous.
But.
Unlike the previous room filled with weapons this one was filled with sealed glass bottles.
There was several tables filled with strange metal tools and papers along the walls
creating a circle around the center table.
The room had a strong medicinal scent,that assaulted his nose.
He warily walked closer to the center table ignoring those against the wall.
The deeper he went into the room the stronger the scent grew.
It grew to the point that his head started to ache.
Who could of lived in this place?
When he reached the table he didn't touch anything.
He only inspected the table from a distance.
The table was fully made out of metal,which was kinda surprising.
The surface of the table was fully covered in markings similar to the short-swords,same with the tools.
Unlike the others that was littered with paper this one was properly sectioned.
The tools was neatly arranged to one side and sealed scrolls to another.
He brought his right-hand close to the table probing for the invisible force.Surprisingly,there was none.
Seeing as there was no defenses,he decided to have a closer look.
He swiped one of his fingers across the metal surface of the table.
Smooth.
He tooked one of the scrolls and removed the seal.
Fwwhurpp.
Opening the scroll he saw several drawings and an unknown language.
Shit!I can't read this.
While he was complaining about not being able to read whatever that was on the scroll,his iris
began to glow with a vibrant green light.
Suddenly the words on the scroll began to rearrange themselves making it possible to identify a few words.
"Healing Agent."
Reading those words his breathing grew heavy.
His hand instinctively grabbed for the other scrolls.
Mana Booster.
Bloodline Enhancer.
Lower Mana Liquifying Pill.
"These are ALCHEMY RECIPES!!!!"
