Convoy of Emotions

After 3 months of being dead alive, he sat at his desk finishing his interminable paperwork while cursing life for all the misfortunes that had recently befallen him, until he thought about his own death for the first time in his lifeless life. At that point, even sticks and stones could break his bones.

His boss, Anthony, brought him more paperwork than usual as he said: "ANDREW!!! You haven't finished your paperwork yet, huh? Well... This will make you happier, hehehe..." His voice polluted the room with his filthy tongue as he left the sheets of paper in Andrew's desk.

Andrew was tired of him. He was tired of his actitude. Anthony kept yelling at Andrew with an a bragging tone until Andrew's anger finally escaped from his mind.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP ANTHONY! Do you think you are the king of the world or something?! Huh?! I'm tired of your fucking atitude!!!" Said Andrew as he slapped Anthony with all his might. He wasn't afraid anymore of Anthony's words.

Anthony touched his face as he looked at Andrew with a death stare that could kill anyone but him.

"You should leave as fast as you can, buddy." Said Anthony while pointing at the menacing door with a stare that could kill anyone, except Andrew.

Andrew immediately left his office, walking as if he hated the floor, and went home.

His only reasons to live disappeared. Nor his parents, nor his wife, nor his children were there for him. He even lost his job.

So, would someone even notice he wasn't in this world anymore? He didn't think so.

As a clever man he understood that his sanity have expired.

He prepared the rope and started writing his suicide note. Failure have found him to hang him from the neck because if he didn't die, his fate would be even worse than death itself. He prefered to rest than to suffer till the end of his days. At the end it didn't even matter.

He didn't think anyone would find his goodbye letter except the police though.

His note said:

"๐ป๐‘’๐‘™๐‘™๐‘œ, ๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ ๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ.

He left the sheet of paper on the floor and prepared himself to commit suicide. He wished for his mind and body to rest, and death looked like the best bed he could ever find.

In his broken heart resided feelings without any sign of life. Lifeless feelings didn't feel as feelings.

"Is this what I really want? Is this too sudden?" Thought Andrew. "There's nothing left for me in this disagreeable world, nobody needs me anymore and I have already held back my own tears for long enough, this is my end."

When he jumped from the chair, he remembered who he was as he saw his whole life summarized in a few seconds. A simple man who loved his family.

His memories from his childhood and life came back to his memory once again, and he remembered.

His parents gave him the love and attention a kid necessitates. At the age of 5 he started playing football. He used to win every single match until his leg got injured and he couldn't play anymore.

Sadly, both of his parents passed away when he was only 15 years old due to a terrible disease. After that, he screamed in silence all his life until his veins collapsed of anger and sadness.

When he turned 17, he enrolled in high school to study maths.

His favorite subjects were Set Theory and geometry. He enjoyed learning, knowledge became something significant for him.

He could've become an architect because he was an excellent drawer, but he preferred to become an accountant. Andrew still had perfect grades though.

In school he was the 'guy who no one knows the name but it's still there'. He were the most introverted guy you could think of back in his days, so he didn't have any real friends.

Time flew for him as he were not aware of the clock's ticks, and he was 47 at the time. He had short grey hair and baggy eyes because of his age.

As an old man, he rarely enjoyed things, but he still loved horror books and novels, especially Stephen King's ones. He also liked Cthulhu Mythos.

Those type books gave him nostalgia and goosebumps every time he read one. When he was a kid, his mother read him horror books before going to sleep. He remembers having nightmares and then sleeping with his parent because of that.

Currently he didn't enjoyed much things, but watching TV while having dinner with his family was something he appreciated. They often watched "Around the World!" show. It was about 2 celebrities traveling to beautiful places like Venice, Iguazรบ Falls, Machu Picchu, etcetera.

But Andrew used to complain with his wife Sophia because of little things. He was tired, and Sophia couldn't notice the effort he was putting in when working to get food and to pay the taxes.

He observed that Sophia were selfish in some way, but in the broken abyss of his heart, he loved her. He didn't really know why, but if he were the moon, Sophia would be the Sun. The moon would wait for the Sun to illuminate the moon, so the moon became dependant on the Sun, and it couldn't conceive light by himself anymore.

Like if she was gravity and he was a satellite. He would fly out of orbit without her.

She smashed his feelings and then she hated his hate as she loved his love.

He lately were pondering of divorce, but recently, his two children, Bethany and Joseph, and his wife, Sophia, died in a car crash.

When the police officer told him about his family, he immediately entered into a status of shock and negated it until his common sense awoke and finally accepted what happened to his loved ones.

He always felt a lack of emotions in him, but this made him feel worse than miserable.

After the tragedy, he felt somewhat responsible of their death. Andrew profundly loved his children, but what happened to them broke his broken body and mind a lot more than it already was before.

He didn't feel happy about his wife's death. When he accepted it, he noticed how much he loved and hated her. Now, his little memories with Sophia resided in a devastated and annihilated heart.

He still waited for his heart to wake up from coma.

It didn't.

Suddenly, when he was about to jump from the chair, something occurred.

The brightest light he had ever seen began to radiate from all sides as he heard a voice calling his name from all directions.

"Andrew... Andrew... Andrew... Andrew! You shall not die today, my son." Heard Andrew. "Your potential... You have something others don't! Is there something wrong with you? Or something powerful in you?"

Andrew was too confused to even answer the voice. For a second he believed he were talking with some kind of afterlife God.

-In fact, it was.-

But it wasn't only an afterlife one but a supreme one.

It was an eternal one.

An absolutely immortal one.

A perfect and absolute one.

"Here, my child." Unexpectedly, the most beautiful and perfect human appeared in front of him. "You can't perceive my true form, so I incarnated as a perfect human."

Andrew didn't believe what was happening. From committing suicide to meeting something like... That?

His thoughts couldn't define or describe what was happening.

He was astonished by its sublimity, the only word that could define it was perfection.

He was so stupefied that he couldn't assimilate the situation.

"I know this is something weird for you, my son, but you need to understand that I am your creator. I am your father. I am your progenitor.

I knew you were going to try to commit suicide, but at the last second, I saw something in you. Something unique and extraordinary. Your capacity to 'be'." Said the being. "You are confused right now, and I understand you. You can't really describe me by names, but you can metaphorically call me 'The Elder'. You are privileged by knowing about the existence of that title. I will show you... The magnificence and majesty of this world!"

"T-that's too m-much information for me I think." Said Andrew perplexed. He tried to understand what it said, but it was too much for his understanding. "Could you start again, please?"

"Sure." Said The Elder.
