As I was waiting in line patiently I started observing the people around me watching their every move, the way they talk, and even the way they stand and act.
I had to make sure I could 'blend' in the future so I don't stick out like a sore thumb, and from what I can tell they act the same on earth just, they all seem to use this strange magic openly like its normal.
I saw this person casually lit a fire on the palm on his hand, and no one bated an eye to him.
I then thought "At-least it seems I won't have to hide my abilities completely." Though I did know people on this planet had 'abilities' I didn't expect something like this.
This only made it better for me though, before I knew it, I was almost at the front and it would be my turn soon.
---
It was now my turn and the guard looked at me with disgust, but he still did his job, the look didn't bother me, I was used to getting looked at like that and being in another world wouldn't change that.
The guard walked up to me and looked down on me with pity mixed with disgust, I was too short too look eye to eye with him.
When I arrived on this planet I noticed that my age didn't change, I was still only nine years old but I was just a little taller than before, but still very short.
The guard then said "Kid, where are you're parents?" All I did in reply is shake my head left and right signifying they weren't here.
The guard snorted when he seen my reply and mumbled under his breath "No manners..." Though he tried to hide it I could still hear him.
He then bent down in front of me to the point where I could sort of see him, he then started patting me down starting from my torso, all the way down to my legs.
He then nodded his head and said "you may enter." I nodded my head and walked forwards into the gate, and the what showed up inside amazed me a little.
There were lots of people around walking around the kingdom looking like they were doing tasks.
There were a countless number of buildings, inns, bars, restaurants, stalls, and even merchants, but that's not what caught my attention the most.
It was the oversized grand building behind all of those, it was white and gold and it was shinning with a grand aura too it.
I smiled wickedly and said under my breath "Just imagine all the treasure I could get if I killed everyone in their."
I then talked again with the same expression "Ah.. I can't wait."
The smile disappeared from my face and I mumbled "But with my current strength and experience I doubt I would be able to do that now, I need to get stronger."
I huffed and said "There has to be some sort of place I can apply to right.."
"Like an academy, or an adventurers guild like out of folktale."
Once again, almost as if the gods were helping me, I overheard some people talking
"Hey, since where here, why don't we go apply at the guild hall."
"Hmm, yea that's a good idea, we need money anyway and that's the fastest way."
When I heard that I averted my attention to them quickly, and I saw them walking away, I started following them from a distance.
It was hard because the streets were filled with people and it was hard to keep an eye on them, and it only made it harder seeing as how short I am and my young age.
---
Eventually the two of them stopped at a relatively huge building with a large sign saying on top 'Adventurer's Guild' I smiled and waited for them to walk in first before I followed.
Once I made it inside I looked around and there was people everywhere cladded in armor or mage looking like robs, I even saw a couple of priests.
Their were round tables everywhere with people sitting either drinking, or enjoying a meal, or simply resting.
I didn't really stand out because there was a good amount of people with cloaks on like me.
The only difference was I wasn't wearing shoes, but they didn't seem to pay attention to me anyway.
I then saw a lady behind a front desk greeting the same people I followed, It looked like they were registering so I walked to where they were and waited my turn silently.
Once It was my turn I walked up and the front desk lady looked at me with surprise, she then asked "Are you here to register?" I nodded my head in approval and waited for her.
She then huffed and said "Alright, please tell me you're name and age."
I replied "Zach Moonshine, I'm 9 years old." Once she heard that she looked even more stoked and said under her breath "9 years of age huh..."
I saw this action but I didn't mention it as there was no reason too, she then suddenly put her hand under the desk and took out a weird object.
It was a device with a flat surface that had an outline of a hand on it, the device was all black and the outline of the hand was white.
She then said "Place you're right hand on it and it will register a guild card for you.
I did as she said and lifted up my hand towards it but...
I was too short to reach it, it was embarrassing and my face went a bit read under the cloak, I then had to stand on my toes and I barely reached it.
The lady saw this action and laughed a little, that only embarrassed me more and my face lit up red even more than last time.
Finally my hand was flat on top of the device and it suddenly lit up all around the outline.
Suddenly a card was being formed on the edge of the device and it came out like a disk, but in a card shape.
I pulled the card out while standing on my toes and I looked at it.
It had my name, age, a weird thing called 'power rank', and it also had a rank on it saying 'Rank: F' I was glad that this weird object didn't put my race onto it and I sighed in relief.
Then the lady talked saying "That is you're guild card, if you lose it, it will be very hard to replace it and will take a lot of time, as you can also see, you're rank is 'F' to increase you're rank you have to do a certain number of missions of the same rank to rank up and it follows, the highest rank is 'S' rank but there aren't that many around."
She then continued talking saying "The ranks order is F, E, C, B, A, S, and the higher you're rank, the harder the missions you have to do in order to increase it.
I took in the information until I finally understood everything.

As I saw the transparent panel appear in front of me, I wondered if anyone else could see it, so I looked up at the front desk lady for a second to see if she saw it.
And thankfully, she didn't I then said in my head "So I don't have to worry about anyone finding about the system in the future then."
I then asked "Do you know of a inn close by that I can stay at?"
The lady nodded and said "If you leave the guild hall and start walking right, you will find an inn called 'Moon Inn' and you don't have to worry about paying since you are an adventurer, but if you plan on staying there for more than 2 months, there is a fee after the two months."
I nodded and said in my head "It was a good idea to register here."
But then I had asked the lady saying "Excuse me, but what is power rank?"
when I said that she looked at me like I said something dumb.
She then said "It is you're power rank, its the basis of power everywhere, it is how you get stronger with mana, and from what I can tell from you, you are at mid-level F rank."
I nodded in conformation and said in my head "It looks like the power in this world is mana, do they not cultivate?"
I then had to ask one more question and said "How do you increase you're 'power rank'"
She looked at me even dumber than before and said "That's a weird question, it's common sense, you gather mana to your body and let it stabilize everywhere until it can flow naturally, it gets harder to tame the power each time you try to get stronger as it can go wild."
I nodded and thought "So instead of forming a core these people let the mana run through their body, but wait, doesn't that mean yin and yang energy is only exclusive to me, what would happen if they saw me using a weird energy other than mana."
I set that thought aside and said "Thank you" and headed for the exit of the guild.
