Escaped

Awoken from her slumber, she stood up with numbing pain still striding across her body.

The temperature underground where the dungeon lay has gotten extremely low, and puddles that only yesterday were still liquid are now frozen solid.

Soon after waking both Rite and Lisa, they packed and were ready to move again. With Yuna's injuries healed and better, they could slowly make their way out of this cavern.

Taking out a map, Rite checked where they were inside the dungeon floors since they had sprinted endlessly attempting to find Yuna's location and fled aimlessly right after.

Rite picked Yuna up and placed her inside the same pack she had been in since the beginning of this journey.

With each step they took, peering behind them was still the sense of danger.

Even though both Rite and Lisa were capable fighters, they had no hope of fighting endless hordes of spiders. Only the thought of this gave them a spine shiver, knowing the consequences could only result in death.

After hours of endless tunnels, they knowingly are heading in the opposite direction to evade all monsters behind them.

The further they head in this direction, the less accurate the map gets. The rumors are that this is because the dungeon core shapes its path for as long as no one sees it doing so.

Because of this reason, there are always bear quests for map makers and many adventures.

Most adventurers were either orphans or once a slave, and a measly amount of commoners and elites were to exist in these ranks.

Heading up multiple levels and finally found a path to the outside, passing through the vines which cover down from cracks within the cavern, which could indicate that they are on a higher level of the dungeon that could be near the surface.

With their hideout probably overrun with monsters by now, they plan to leave the village right after they get out.

With not much left behind inside their hideout, they decided that they should leave.

"Rite, I think we should move to your place. Don't you have family living somewhere up north?." Said, Lisa

"I've not been home for so long I'm not even sure if my brothers still live there. And I'm not sure if the humans in Joureafla like elves very much." Said Rite with some questioning in his tone.

"It'll be okay, I would just use a spell of some kind to conceal myself" "but what about Yuna, I would think it is more dangerous taking her to the humans. They are well known for hating other species and humans, especially the human priest." Said, Lisa

"They once called my kinds, demons, for no reason"

A skittering noise sounded from atop where they were the smashing and crushing of wood follows.

Stopped dead in their tracks they stood quietly, the noise continue for another moment and stopped.

Whispering to each other they stood frozen in shock, could it be another monster?

Usually, monsters of the dungeon do not escape the dungeon as a creature that arises from the dungeon's core and cannot survive without the essence of the core.

Coming to an exit the dungeon extract goes into a hatch, peering out of the bag Yuna's attention was focused on the commotion.

Rite walked up to the hatch grabbed the latch, and pulled with all his strength.

The latch makes an eerily metal surface rubbing against each other creating a long vibration and ring.

"Click" as the large metal hatch was lifted upwards, letting sunlight peek through the cracks from the rusted and worn iron.
